So developers get less sales and have to fragment their advertising which costs them more in the long run since they basically have a soft open on Epic, then a second softer open on Steam. Good luck to all these developers when they realise that the guaranteed sales money probably isn't enough to offset their losses in the long term.

EA deserves to have it's own brand games on its store if it wants. Epic games just pays off indie developers to steal exclusive rights to have their games on its shovelware fortnite launcher so people will be forced to download it if they want to play the indie game.
Epic doesn't deserve that platform of exclusivity for games they did not develop. That is the main reason for hate against epic and I think it's deserved. If they had no hand in developing the game they shouldn't have exclusive rights because that's what leads to a monopoly, not friendly competition like epic shills claim.

First of all, its neither tenable, nor possible for Epic to buy exclusivity to every newly released game. It doesnt make business sense, and it doesnt make realistic sense there are new games being released every single day and most of them are not even worth paying for exclusivity. The idea behind exclusivity isnt to steal all of Valves market share, it's to get people to use the platform and spend more money.

Second of all, if it were possible? If it did happen? Then Valve would have to use some of its liquidity to entice developers onto their platform which means more money for devs which means better video games. Which is better for the consumer. Competition, the system works.
