Lost In Vivo. The atmosphere is unbearably oppressive
The Sims.
Existential horror at being reminded of how little I've accomplished, how much time has passed, and how little my death or existence will matter. And so I turn back to escapism.
Darkwood
All they have to do is make the driving less janky and some decent objective.
They could look into actually exiting the car to try and mend it in a tight situation. Done right would up the tension dramatically.
Keep driving the main focus but have times when you can get out.
>le spooky garfield
I hate this. Why did this become a thing?
lol reminds me of that scene in Hunter x Hunter where Pitou loses her head and her nen aura keeps her alive and fighting. I would fuck Pitou.
Lost in Vivo
September 1999 seems nice
Darkwood
Any game where you are pretty much alone and have to explore scares me. Outer Wilds spooks me sometimes for no apparent reason.
An extension of Lasagna Cat's irony but tilted towards horror. It gave the guy who made OP's image a spot on the map at any rate and he does pretty decent spritework even if it's not usually animated much.
FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDYS
spoopy
Lumpy’s spritework would be top tier if he wasn’t such a one trick pony with his content
spooky garfield is probably the most forced meme i've ever seen
>calls itself "Garfield on Gameboy"
>doesn't even follow gameboy limitations
>it's just the same "BULLETS DONT WORK JON XD" shit over and over again
I hate this shit, and I always will.
It's a cliche answer but playing this at age 13 really took me on a dark trip. It was the first horror game I ever played. The scariest game up until that point that I had played was probably Doom. I only picked it up because I saw a review of it in Game Informer and I was already a huge Konami fan (at least of the Contra, Gradius, and Metal Gear series). I was not let down, but I was left with such an uneasy feeling after playing this.
Horror has always been my favorite genre. I grew up with horror movies/games, problem is nothing scares me anymore. What games would you recommend to make me feel something?
>love horror
>no good horror games have come out in years
Fuck me
game?
Rain World doing a no death run.
His animations would be considerably better if he just took the time to animate mouths and limbs instead of moving them around with the mouse.
Vic Morrow´s Death Video
Yea, it's frustrating. His spritework is creative, but he is certainly no writer.
Beware
I don't think its being worked on anymore but who knows
what the fuck am i looking at
maybe because I haven't played anything new in a while but I'm looking forward to Blair Witch soon
The Yomawari titles.
Thinking back, they weren't actually super scary, but they were the most involved I've been in a horror game in years.
That would take effort.
Same with the "game", he'd actually have to learn game design
youtube.com
>generic shitty walking sim
>good
I liked lobotomy corporation and Jimmy&the pulsating mass, but that's mostly because I enjoy horror that is successfully implemented alongside a variety of other complex emotions which arent limited to negative ones.
There's no point discussing anything with you since you've already made your mind up using derogatory terms before you've even seen it.
>Bitches about a fangame using his art without his permission while using someone else's IP for attention.
LumpyTouch is a fag.
People give Amnesia shit for kickstarting the trend of over-reaction videos on Youtube, but I still think it's one of the few first person horror games that really knew how to make a tense well-paced set-up and atmospheric environment without just randomly throwing a monster at you in a pitch black room like so many low-effort imitators try to build their entire game on.
Muscles and such work quite a long time in a freshly cut meat. Probably muscle spams from the spices.
Is Lobotomy Corporation actually good? When I first heard about it I assumed it was a weird-ass porn game.
Have sex.
It's salt, you can literally make frogs legs dance with it.
i've seen that happen before with salt (i think) but i've never seen it happen on something so cut up. crazy world!
They were more about atmospheric horror, kind of like the Silent Hill games. You even had big towns you wandered around that told you to go to a specific place, but left how you got there up to you to figure out. Made you get intimate with the locations and learn their ins and outs. That all tied back to the horror, since the location of spirits was usually carefully considered, or even just the placement of items, like the shoes in the middle of a street implying someone committing suicide, or the numerous ghosts of kids in the abandoned factory.
Scariest I've played? No. But a very good example of how effective otherwise-trite horror concepts can be when applied unexpectedly outside of the genre.
Big spoils though, don't click
On the first time, honestly either REmake or Fatal Frame 1, both had unbearably oppresive atmosphere, especially in the laboratory in REmake.
I liked Fran Bow more than I expected to.
Please keep this reddît shit off here thanx
What reddit shit?
Thats how feel about silenthill. Theres like this wierd ethereal tranquility about it
Fuck those little shits popping up in the middle of doing that one puzzle.
> that one puzzle
Stovepipe Stumper. It's burned into my brain as if it were the face of a man who violated me.
honestly doesn't look half bad for somebody that clearly has no idea wtf they're doing.
>you can literally make frogs legs dance with it.
HELLO MY HONEY-
DUN DUN DUNDUNDUN, DUN DUN DUNDUNDUN
WWWWRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>he’s never done the salt on muscle experiment before
This is high school biology lab stuff
they've already shown gameplay. it's just a shitty walking sim. now go back.
I like Lumpy’s spritework but the ironic Garfield shit is so unfunny and played out, I wish he’d do more creative/original stuff.
Dead space 1. I never liked horror games, but I did try dead space out few years ago because I liked everything about it otherwise, but I couldn't get myself to play for longer than the first chapter. However I am currently playing re2 remake, and while it is kinda tense, it's not too uncomfortable and I'm enjoying it. I've played a shit ton of stalker and metro tho and don't find them scary at all (because I know where everything is and what the enemioes do and how they act) and maybe that manned me up enough to enjoy other mild horror games.
Pure jump scare stuff is not fun tho, I play these horror games for the actual gameplay, nmot because I enjoy getting heart attacks
ZALGO
Like I said i'm not discussing it with you since it's pointless.
All walking sims are clearly shitty to you.
IM ALIVE
IM BORN
IM FREE
*smack smack* is this what air tastes like?
EUGH
IT BURNS
>hold W to progress game
>good
go back
Back to your unfunny forced maymay sub please
weren't these things just mascots at some restaurant? why the fuck do they have needle teeth now
>routine is never coming out
god fucking damn it
We don't do those in europe.
Not actually the scariest game but I just like posting the Alien.
Seething SnoyBoi
What's your major malfunction?
Silent Hill 3 almost made me shit myself and I never did finish it. I should though
Huh?
because FNAF only appeals to people below the age of 10 and hyperautists.
I sure did. Maybe not in eastern europe.
That crazy guy there really didn't help.
everything came together really nicely in that game. really wish there was more of that setting in any genre.
Resident Evil PS1. I was 3. Still have a nightmare about it every few years, but I can't remember any of it while I'm awake. I haven't played the game since I was a toddler.
That's basically what the movies are. Although you didn't see them, because you're a zoomer.
Great game, but I wish the alien wasn't psychic. It always patrolling the room you're either in or next to is kind of bullshit.
I saw all the blair witch movies dumbshit. I don't want to watch a movie. I want to play a goddamned videogame, redditor.
It isn't psychic, but the Director is.
Yeah right zoomer.
What does that mean exactly?
Limbo.
If you also think P.T. is a great horror game, you're a massive hypocrite. Not every game has to feed your ego with accomplishments.
I think the devs talked about this. Something about it disappearing for the rest of the game to the other side of the ship if they let it roam freely.
Also those prank calls were pretty spooky.
I don't really play scary games. But the original Bioshock really spooked me quite often
I get that it has to be controlled to some degree. But the medbay segment was such bullshit because it hovers over you so closely. No gaps where it wanders off for a bit.
>BOOM
>CRASH
>AWOOOOOOO
the director AI controls all the enemies and knows where you are at all times.
I think it means the 'director' of the 'horror movie' you're starring in will always push the Alien towards you for more tension. I mean, it'd be pretty frickin' tedious if you went through an entire level without even a glimpse of it.
So it appeals to everyone on Yea Forums then
Alien isolation first time around was pretty good for a jump scare
If it wanders away the Director will tell it what section of the map you're in, causing it to loop back around and investigate your area again.
It does actually wander away, but the medbay is so cramped that it doesn't have to go very far before it's considered to have wandered.
The medbay was too tedious because of that. Few hiding spots. Few paths. Died a dozen times because there's just nothing to do about it.
Horror is one thing. But if I feel like I'm stuck in a vent because there aren't enough openings to sneak past, it becomes a frustrating experience, not a scary one.
WooooaaAAAoooh a twitter watermark, sooo scraaAAary
I picked up Tamashii during the sale. Really surprised me.
Darkwood and Lost in Vivo, user.
Gotta ask. Does your mommy call you "special"?
Well, you can handwave it somewhat by the Alien's sharp instincts/senses alerting it to your presence, though ignorant of your exact location. Just because it can't see you, doesn't mean it can't smell the sweat and piss you've left behind.
Ok, "LumpyTouch"
Shut the fuck up that game is faggots silent hill, literally copied everything and did it all worse
Inside was good, but nothing tops the early forest section of Limbo for me. Chasing after shadowy figures of children in the distance, running from spiders, and always falling out of reach of your sister whenever you got close.
Bullets don't work Michael
that looks absolutely fucked
>It's salt, you can literally make frogs legs dance with it.
so if i put it into the ocean...
The ocean is pretty big you're going to need at least 4 spoons.
>nooo, i dont want to be grilled
Eh It Will pass quickly...Guy Channel is basically"that thing for your childgood is now groose and scary" It wont last
looks like incredipede
What is your name and how many sexual partners have you had?
Those are literally a kid's nightmares. Basically how a traumatized child sees them.
I'M YOUR BROTHER
I'M YOUR BROTHER
I'M YOUR BROTHER
>childgood
>groose
Lel
BUT IT'S JUST A THEORY
We had an entire lesson devoted to it
A GAY THEORY
System Shock 2
I had to turn the brightness all the way up for that fucking cargo bay level the first time through
You forgot the fucking watermark that completely ruins any attempt at selling the illusion of such a game potentially existing
Wasn't Lumpy going to do more Cursebound stuff?
It's very scary right up until you realise death is more or less meaningless and nothing more than a very minor setback, and that you can bunnyhop around all the levels because for 90% of the time the monsters aren't spawned in, and there's a very clear signifier when they do so you can just go sit in a corner for 20 seconds until the music stops.
The atmosphere, level and monster design is great, story is pretty good, it's just let down by the mechanics. When you die you should have to reload a save. Sure it's frustrating when you die but it also makes encounters with enemies significantly more tense because you actually give a shit about not being caught. This is why RE1 is still one of the most tense games ever made despite being a cheese B-movie type game that's aged like milk.
What happened to the days when game creepypastas had an air of plausibility about them? This was before the HYPERREALISTIC BLOOD (TM) days, and although it's picked up a bit since then we're still nowhere near the golden days.
Why is everyone so butthurt about OP's image
Not clue
Based as fuck
Why was he such a dick?
His croaking were him saying "Would you like to hear my songs" in Martian.
Yes, seriously
Is that common? I'm American and never did that. Sounds cool though
The first Aliens versus Predator, the marine play through was terror incarnate.
nice feet
The first swimming sequences were pretty good
Guys I gotta ask if someone knows this game I'm talking about, I've forgotten the name and I want to play it so badly. Here's what I remember about it:
It started so that you were driving on winter and for whatever problem with car you had to stop in the middle of nowhere and there was a mansion so you went in. No one was there so you snooped around and saw some remarks of some failed experiment. Then when you went to the basement at one point you saw an empty cell and you found out that it was locked in that cell. After that the monster starts to roam around the mansion (or whatever that big building is) and when in sees you it starts running towards you and tries to kill you obviously. The monster was shaking and vibrating its head violently and I'd recall it having long blade claws too. You couldn't fight the monster iirc.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?
what game
Little nightmares is pretty good and I don't see it being discussed often.
Without looking I'm assuming it's Dead by Daylight
story is great but controls are bad
Yes it's Dead by Daylight
it's such a shame every asymmetrical horror game turns into a sweaty elitist shitshow
Seriously my favorite flawed game. I love it but I can't recommend it to anyone.
That monster description sounds like Amnesia
No it's not amnesia, it was a much smaller game But ye it was also in first person
Ah shit, I remember that too
Man people in that game are so salty.I like to play killer but ide say 20% of the time when I hook someone they DC. Then I got fuckin tryhard permajukers every game. Such a pain. Though those 1 in 10 games were everyone is actually playing the part and having fun is sooooo fun.
nothing scares me more than this game. Not even silent hill 2
Was that from the first or second game?
You are a man of culture
I'd would be creative, if he hadn't stolen all those eldtricht Garfields from someone else
first, second should be this one. I have only played the first and dof. Dof is insanely scary too
me too
Dark waters or very open waters terrify me, it took me half an hour just to muster up the courage to swim towards one of the reefback leviathians or down to one of those audio log locations which said they were under attack by something.
I didnt find that game very scary worst jump I got was when I was just tutin along in my seamoth and a leviathan grabed me from behind. I barely escaped alive lost the sub. Fun game still.
Cause it's a short game with no replay value?
lol
Most of the game isn't scary but some parts were horrible if you played it blind. Now that I know a lot more about the game it's not nearly as terrifying but my mind really filled in the blanks the first time I played it. You really feel vulnerable and exposed out in those deep, open spaces of water and I constantly feared that I was going to be attacked by some sea creatures, swallowed whole by some gigantic Cthulhu-lite creature or sucked away by an underwater stream to my doom.
I really liked Ecco 2. Tubes of Medusa is fucking terrifying.
I always thought skull woods in Link to the Past was scary as a kid.
traveling back in time into the past with the trilobites scared teh shits out of me
The design choices really negate the horror of Subnautica. The setting can be terrifying. Too many of the monsters just look dumb though.
Fear & Hunger wasn't necessarily scary, but boy was it oppressive and made me feel uncomfortable. The first time the combat music played I was genuinely anxious.
nice reminders. That shit was indeed creeepy. I love kids games with creepy parts. This makes zelda so great and breath of the wild so lame.
Looking dumb isn't so much a problem as acting dumb is, because minor threats can't really do much against you because of the restriction of their no combat design.
SOMA did it well
Play any AAA game on the market right now. The lack of any real innovation, new features or experimental ideas is genuinely scary.
Another good point. Weaker enmies like sand sharks and shit cant hurt you unless your standing basically still. Then on the flip side a leviathan can fuckin one shot you and even posses a serious deadly threat to a cyclops. Its quite off kilter.
See, "No combat" is a fine design choice for a horror game. But yes, the monsters are too limited in how they are allowed to move and attack.
Oxenfree
hell is other people
that's some fresh ass meat
fun thing, the Phone number and the Messages still work
usefull if you want to pll a prank on someone, but i just wondr how long will they stay up
but not the name? I'm currently trying to find that game again
ecco is supremely based.
if people hadn't peer pressured Alex she wouldn't be stuck in a timeloop for the rest of eternity
I want to play a game where you eventually became the scariest thing and the scary enemies become afraid of you.
I really like how the delayed release of New Game + emulated the feeling of Alex going through the cycle over and over again making different choices but ending up with the same result, until she finally managed to find a way to break it and get a message to her old self.
The Screecher mod of Don't Starve
Really god use of flashlight and avoid the enemy
Esoteric Garfield > Horror Garfield
Fish Feed and Grow
.. That looks semi-interesting. What's it about?
Bump for this.
Why I described it as their no combat design rather than just not having combat. Because combat is such a natural and more importantly wide-spread way to have momentary threats in a game, the decision to excise it means you need design that fills those holes. They mainly filled them with environmental hazards (and didn't exactly do a bad job of making those engaging), but actual new design wasn't Subnautica's strongpoint and most other existing solutions (like chase mechanics) couldn't fit into its open world survival style. So what you're left with is minor enemies just being kind of uninteractive and doing little stuff to you until they leave (as I described it in the threads around the game's release, when you "give them a couple fuckoffs with your knife"); even more complex threats like the warpers and the EMP squid things just end up as minor annoyances that you basically just ignore.
Subnautica was a very, very good game. But it was a good ambient exploration game, not a good scary game. I'd imagine that its biggest killer across all players was oxygen.
Best supernatural horror games? Some of my favorites on Steam are DreadOut and White Day. Not because of gameplay but the spooky monster designs.
>Lol the people who disconnect when I hook them are so salty
>Btw fuck the people who are actually better than me at the game they're so annoying
>The rounds where I get to win are the best
Faggot.
Frankly? No, Lobotomy Corporation is ass. The main problem with it is that the interactions between you and the abnormalities are way, way too simplistic to make the gameplay endearing or even charming. There's a handful of gimmick monsters which the community will focus on, but for 90% of them, it's literally "click one of four buttons, then win." and then forget about them. Some of the gimmicks are cute, but they're like the sanity effects in Eternal Darkness: Cute on paper, not so much the second time in practice. Also the story on a lot of the abnormalities just plain suck.
On top of that, you can feel how Korean the game is because as soon as you figure out your new abnormality on hand, it's just literal grinding away the day to get armor and weapons in case of breakouts.
Really big waste of time and money on my part.
damm this looks cool
There's like a 90% chance you're lying, but just in case, sauce on that?
Last one I remember was Higurashi, shit was anxiety inducing, especially the call with the green haired bitch.
Don't listen to the previous fag, if you enjoy management games, a hint of anime, and weird supernatural creatures then I would say it's a good choice. It's not scary by any means but it's a challenging game once the abnormalities start to conflict with each other. I can understand some people's disdain for the game though, it constantly gets a thread up which kinda bothers me too despite loving the game.
Another Froggy Evening
Phobia 1.5?
Once you past that building some dudes start following you, all you gotta do is lost them in your shitty car.
pretty sure that lumpy wasnt involved with this.
Oh so the whole deal is driving away.
Maybe I give it a spin
quite literally impossible. The game reaches bullshit levels of difficulty even on normal if you're unlucky enough to get bad enemy spawns.
oh.. OH THAT IS IT
look at this bitch made nigga acting like dbd is anything but shitty esl bait
considering i dont play much horror because the genre relies to 90% on retarded jumpscares its probably dead space 1
>Not even silent hill 2
why do you say that? SH2 is literally the LEAST scary game in its own series.
Blame reddit
You mean you've convinced yourself that jumpscares are bad and anything that scares you is a jumpscare because you're so tough and cool.
>why yes I would like to be grilled, how did you know?
What about it specifically? SH3 is one of my favorite games and it still scares me to this day
Just watched the episode myself. It's actually real.
System shock 2 is still one of the scariest games I’ve ever played. Just the fact that enemies can wander makes it really tense. Hearing a door open behind you as you’re walking down the hall always put me on edge. Also fuck those spiders and their gross as clicking noises
It was a decent calkearns style fucked up rendition of Garfield that was kinda funny because it was so perverse. Then some faggot decided to make the artwork into gameboy style gifs and pictures. No clue why the latter ever found an audience
Your school or district might have been poor
None of the schools I went to did anything like that either
Jumpscares can be all right. The chick in P.T. scared the shit out of me and my girl and we jumped and yelped and then laughed out asses off.
I can't wait for the unity remake of SCP Containment Breach to be finished
SCP Secret Lab could get legit scary back when it was new and people didn't know how the game worked
I don't appreciate your use of salty language, sailor, but your post made me think. Maybe the reason this type of thing took off is because Lovecraft is mainstream now. Everyone wants to be a fan of weird shit to show off how cool they without doing any reading or research into it.
for eating pizza
American safety measures may appear intriguing to strangers
Ahhh I think Two Best Friends played this one year or something cause I recognize this too.
Kill yourself, shitter.
>pic
Unironically one of my favorite moments from that game
You can't like Lost in Vivo AND Silent Hill?
Now try this on any server and you'll get instabanned
The community is ruined beyong repair, they're all a bunch of babies who just start to cry when they're not winning immediately
How is the game? I wanted to grab it, but I don't do well with horror (medical conditions). I've played Rusty Lake, though, and those games have very detailed insects and animals.
Well its SCP... I dont want to say what you expected from a cesspit of trannies that stole the thing from the /x/ fags that made it but...
god fucking dammit
not even a year ago we'd tell phoneposters to fuck off.
Christ, how the times have changed
Grickle is great. Those gnomes are creepy as shit.
youtu.be
Shoot, meant to reply to
Bloody hell user, you just had to remind us didn't you?
expressionist oddie > garfield anything
scp-wiki.net
They got homestuck in my SCP
i think they just added the new game+ because people are babies and couldn't deal with a sad ending
As someone who posts on both computer and phone, I will never understand the hate against phoneposters. Some of us do leave our houses and get bored enough to kill time on Yea Forums.
>Yea Forums in public
IRL
I have PTSD from my child hood so I'm absolutely terrified to do anything or go anywhere. I have a doctors appointment soon and I'm completely terrified of just going there.
I know this might be kind of old, but do people still consider Slender scary? I played it on a crummy laptop in the dark, and got decently far before it froze up and I died, it just felt boring to me.
It's good and has a lot of soul, but it's pretty niche, and certainly not a horror game.
>actually letting people look over your shoulder when doing anything on your computer or your phone, regardless of location or activity
Silent hill 4
>Yea Forums in public
I accidentaly beat the game without ever findind slenderman the first time I played
yeah that's the problem you fucking peabrained normalfaggot dumbshit
Are there any open world innawoods horror games in the vein of STALKER?
darkwood maybe?
user, imma need context, what is going on, and why are they all looking like i just stole something important?
>Will Burke, the guy who actually made the art gets less traction and recognition than some faggot who literally just stole his artwork and decided to put it into “le gameboy art style but not at all”
How the actual fuck did Lumpy Touch get away with this shit?
>been here 15+ years
>normalfag for actually going out and getting bored on my phone
ok
yeah you haven't been here for 15+ years tho
Pitou is a male bro
>and why are they all looking like i just stole something important?
yeah, something like that.....
I have silent hill 2 and 3 on ps2 and the HD collection on 360; I know that the HD collection gets meme'd on a lot, but does the HD collection have the Greatest Hits content for 2?
the original one had very creepy moments more so after the magic expansion, god i remember instaling my 10 disks would take all day in my very first pc that had like 64mb of ram. Good fucking times.
My brother a had a bunch of demo discs for the PS1 back in the day, right before Crash 3 came out it was one a demo disk with Spiro and the first Silent Hill game
I accidentally loaded up the Silent Hill demo one day and swore never to play any of those games ever in my life
>been here 15+ years
Everyone says that
Looks neat, not sure if the top down perspective works for immersion but I'll have to give it a shot
I have been though
Any good demonic or alien scary shit?
Ghost horror stuff is starting to get really overused and stupid.
If I see that the main villain is a stupid young girl who died of something and is getting "friends to play with" or "getting revenge", I'm going to fucking lose it.
Puppet combo games really nail the atmosphere. Night Shift in particular really got to me. Something about working the graveyard shift at a rural gas station was 2 spooky
What was your first board
>when I leave my house I sometimes go on Yea Forums
and we still wonder why the community has gone to shit
Yea Forums but why does this matter so much to you, user?
ok but you havent
>I never get bored enough while mobile to kill time on Yea Forums
I guess reddit is more your speed since they have an official app, huh?
And how would you prove that? And why does it matter so damn much? I remember using this website in at least 2005 which admittedly would only be 14 years but still.
Alien Isolation. Idk why but I can't finish that game without having a panic attack
why are you trying so hard lmao Yea Forums wasn't even a board until 2006 you fucking retarded normalfaggot dumbshit. this is why we hate phone posters. you're fucking idiots.
>reddit has an app
that's news to me, but thanks for outing yourself.
No, when I'm outside it's either for work or for grocery shopping. Neither of which require a phone.
Partially the popularity of lasagna cat but also the popular creepypasta archetype of "the secret horror story behind this inoffensive banal piece of media"
....but during the stone age!
>lumpy"dude what if I took something cute and cartoony and make it scary! xD" touch
not the scariest but the dark and horror atmosphere of this was really well-done
too bad other hitman games dont come back to it
Okay so my years on here was slightly off. 2007 sounds more accurate anyway. In the end though, phoneposting is 100% fine. Good job ruining a comfy thread with this elitist bullshit.
this
>can't even get basic numbers right
>goes on Yea Forums in public
>doesn't recognize when he's in the wrong
>but we are the dicks somehow
faggot
How am I in the wrong for getting years mixed up and going on Yea Forums in public? There is literally no one paying attention to me or what I'm doing on my phone.
>i was here for 16 years!
>h-huh m-maybe it was like 14 actually
>w-w-what? this board didnt exist then?
>m-maybe it was 12
People hate phone posters because it enables RETARDED PEOPLE LIKE YOU to post here. The board was better when there was at least a barrier of entry to using the internet and dumbfucks like you couldn't figure it out.
To be fair, sims can get jobs just by making a phone call and are guaranteed promotions if they stay with it. No two years of failed interviews, crushing student loans, no mass layoffs, etc.
>Lumpy “what if I were to steal someone else’s artwork and disguise it as my own?” Touch
Feels like this has been done before.
I started out using the fucking website in 2007, you cunt. I got my years mixed up because I have a shitty memory. Hell I just got a smartphone in 2018. God fucking forbid me for killing time on this site while mobile. Fuck you guys are being elitist faggots.
Why is it only talentless faggots who complain about people "stealing" art
Yeah, Lumpy was clearly inspired by the aesthetic of Will Burke's Garfield illustration
If you look hard enough, you could say Will Burke jocked off someone else's style
No one cares but faggots who don't make anything worthwhile themselves
You are jealous, and it's obvious
Get good and make some shit and stop fucking whining, nigger
This game was pretty great. A monster for every way to die in prison and they all got neat intros when you first see them.
I remember it frying my monitor for some reason... TWICE.
Don't ask me how, I have to this day no idea what it did to the poor crappy thing.
It has but it has almost nothing to do with The Blair Witch franchise and is a sequel to an obscure game
Fuckin love this game
Shame the GoG version is buggy shit
This just looks like Outlast to me.
Wait, Martian? What?
>love the visuals from Alien
>end up stopping to look at the whole environment
>it's a Joe or Xeno section
>can't look around
Tim to download that mod that removes enemies for a second "playthrough" more like walk around Sevastopol
It's available for free, officially. I can't remember the site but I don't think it was a GoG version.
It’s weird that someone that’s been here for so long is complaining about elitism
Wow, as someone who actually likes Homestuck this is really fucking gay. Fuck Reddit. Fuck trannies. Fuck nuSCP.
>I started out using the fucking website in 2007
are you sure about that you fucking retard? do you need to think on it some more while you sit there at the mall alone you dumb fuck? you are a fucking retard with a shit memory, after all.
can't imagine why someone would have not wanted your likes on here.
Doom3
Mainly because it was so fucking dark and the combat was nerve-racking as a result.
Dead Space gets an honorable mention but I feared nothing by the end while Doom3's depiction of Hell still unnerves me.
Should I get this or Friday the 13th? Will be playing with friends.
>t. Lumpy Touch
F13 is the better game but dead with no more updates coming
Yup
In "Another Froggy Evening" he gets picked up by Marvin and they sing together
This place has changed enough in the last few years that it doesn't bother me anymore.
>mall
lol
Honestly, Friday the 13th is only worth it if you're a fan of the series. It's decently dead these days but it is a cool labor of love type game. Dead by Daylight has a bit of a shit community but I have a blast with it.
F13 is dead
DbD at least has butt dancing and memes
>Some of us do leave our houses
WHAT THE FUCK DID HE MEAN BY THIS
Which is it Obama?
Yea Forums has always been elitist you newnigger. Lurk 2 years before posting

First time I started seeing Eldritch garfield comics was on this site years ago.
Cope.
This pic is turning me on
yeah, keep thinking that. Whatever helps you sleep at night
Thanks bud
123 slaughter me street can be pretty fucking intense. Every level is basically a game of hide and seek vs monstrous mascot monsters. You hide in closets and vents, and make mad dashes around tight corners hoping you don't get caught. Also both dreadout games were pretty scary for me despite their technical flaws
I dropped it after 5 hours or so because fuck me, it's so out of my comfort zone. I know it's the kinda the point of horror games but still.
The sea and feeling of diving is insanely well designed though, the spawn area is almost therapeutic.
He also used the music from the Clocktower games. He credited them but it still didn't seem very original.
It's quite easy to cope when you're not trying to lie on the internet
Ecco 2 is superior to the first game in every aspect. You should play it.
Loved this demo
Try the game out, maybe @ the dude to show support. I've never seen a horror driving game.
Layers of fear was very scary despite being a walking sim. Lost in vivo is excellent though.
I've done it a few times in ayy lmao isofellatio. The AI will run into a vent and if you run around alot it can confuse them
Who's lying? I got my years mixed up. Easy mistake.
The Evil Within 2
Would you recommend it?
I'm interested. Where do I download?
Walk in front of a bus next time you're on Yea Forums in public
What is this?
>bido gams
encoded embeded file dolphin porn
K bud
I bought it after reading your post. I just got to the part where you look at a graffiti and there's some junkie behind you when you turn around. I let out a scream that my neighbors probably heard for the first time in my life playing horror games.
i want to make a horror game featuring an autistic serial rapist.
If I'm not mistaken Dead by Daylight features Freddy Krueger from the 2010 remake (a confirmed pedo)
oops nevermind I misread your post
unironically
Skyrim
The dreamcast Ecco game.
Freddie wasn't autistic, just a predator.
I think Leatherface was on the spectrum
Thank you I was looking around and wasn't sure. Looks fun.
>Looks fun.
The story is batshit crazy. Brin really outdid himself with that.
A skinned frog still kicking.
There are multiple endings so be sure to explore. Also whistle for your dog often it leads to where you need to be or it can give you some spooks depending.
Oh yes I totally forgot Leatherface has a daughter, which I highly doubt it was consensual
I want to say RE2make on my first run, but it quickly became annoying to me because of how the game dynamically "balances" the difficulty based on how you play.
In theory, it would be great, but in practice it results in zombies that can completely ignore getting shot in the face up to 7 times before they even flinch, let alone stagger backwards to give you a moment to run past.
Then, after you've been forced to take damage, suddenly some zombies fall in 1-3 headshots. Not just fall over and then get back up after a while, their heads pop and they stay down permanently.
>inb4 zombies in the OG games were like that too
They were more consistent. Last time I played RE2, I counted an average of 7 handgun bullets per zombie. 4 to knock them down, and then another 3 to keep them down, provided they don't end up getting headshot on any of those 7 hits and die prematurely.
That's 7 shots to permanently remove a zombie from the game. Compared to 7+ just to stun one for a moment.
STALKER, getting into caves was the worst part, but then the game became really cozy
Demonophobia
You will regret it user.
Dilate.
afraid of monsters
Eversion, especially the first playthrough.
Lost of Vivo is probably the biggest fucking meme game I've had the displeasure of being tricked into playing.
>read about it
>people on Yea Forums and elsewhere are saying it's the best horror game since silent hill 2
>literally takes a ton of the same theme and motif's from silent hill 2
>first part of the game is nothing but jump scares with a homeless man with dogs
>subway station has a bunch of endlessly respawning jumpscare ghosts flying at you through walls like some madly made source engine 1 game that show up super predictably after you mess with the power
Fuck that game
Detention and devotion are both very kino, what are you on about?
game where you need to out-drive some goons in some ukrainian countryside based on experiences the original creator had as a kid
I'm so pissed china nuked devotion
there's nothing wrong with walking sims; videogames are the only medium in which they are possible
-Silent Hill 4 (disturbed me way more than the first 3 even though it's the weakest of the originals)
-Fatal Frame 2
-Cry Of Fear
There's nothing wrong with the controls at all.
So true. As a kid I nearly shat myself when I saw the ghost in the hotel's mirror.
what do you think about visage? It really tries hard to be p.t. and it's nice, but I would never have the patience to play it myself
They recently revoked the developer's license too and all for the fucking Winnie the Pooh joke. It's a real shame considering they've innovated vastly in the gaming industry by making an amazing historical horror video game. (I'm not sure there are any other games that do it as well as detention on the market, correct me if I'm wrong plz)
Fuck. Any way to play Devotion anymore?
Probably a torrent out there
Yuppie psycho was decent
>The witch whispering in your ear.
it almost asmr, if it didn't mean that shit was about to go south.
I heard about that and it fucking sucks, such wasted potential. good horror is so fucking rare anyways. I loved detention and wanted to buy devotion too, but then china ruined the day
You can always watch the YouTube walkthrough with no commentary or get a torrent but there's no legal way to play the game unfortunately
I know and I did. but I want more games from the devs... china sucks ass
>Xenophobia never
Still the only game I know of to have satisfying shooter gameplay and yet still manage to be scary. Shame the sequel was so shit.
>what is overchan?
you have my interest
>le slow burning, atmospheric, no jumpscares, psychological horror gaems!!!!11
Neither, play Identity V. The DBD devs helped make it and built to be fun instead of a psudo-esport. There is a PC client that is crossplay with the mobile versions now.
can't decide if hereditary or it comes at night was worse
same
>stop liking what I don't like
Drives me fucking crazy that 99% of his games are locked behind Patreon, and ones that used to be free are now paid games on itch.io.
I want to support the dude, I bought his itch.io games, but fuck it's a scummy move. Especially the Patreon shit.
I know you're just trolling because your brain cant comprehend a controller with more than 3 buttons but there are multiple genres of horror that differ wildly from each other.
For example the gory horror that is more about the gore and disgusting elements than anything else.
Jumpscare horror
Dreadful horror
etc
Yeah, but it's grimly awesome first, scary second. Torque's personality as expressed by his animations gives you confidence, that goddamn shotgun reload
Fuck the Infernas
In all of the """"""horror threads"""""" (which in actuality is a meta argument thread) that start with that image, I have never seen OP provide with what he defines a good horror movie. Furthermore, why post this image on a videogame board? It's certainly not videogames.
Is it because they told you to fuck off on Yea Forums?
Is that a trainer game?
Red Candle Games made the best silent hill game since silent hill 2 and then made one of the best if not the best first person horror game out there and then they got nuked by China. Hopefully they run off to the west or something and make more scary vidya
You gotta remember that most people here are probably too young to have played and appreciated Silent Hill 2.
blair witch was insulted when it first came out though. come to think of it I've never met anyone who said they even liked the movie
also I don't think a single person has ever said cabin in the woods was deep. it's a cheap thrill movie and the only reason it ever comes up on Yea Forums is because of filename threads
i believe it's summertime saga. not really a trainer game
>not sure if the top down perspective works for immersion
surprisingly, it helps it even more since it limits your vision into a cone
counterintuitive but it works well
i do this all the time and im never banned, stop playing on furfag servers.
>like the idea of horror games
>too much of a pussy to play them regularly
>have a large backlog of horror games
anyone else here know this feel
I got anxious as fuck and even jumped on my chair once when I played Stories, Untold, Part 1
GET OUT! GET OUT! GET OUT!
Too bad the ending was shit
Scariest? Cry of Fear. Most enjoyable was Pnumbra
Sometimes it just works out like that sadly with art and its influence. Lumpy shills his shit left and right and I believe Will (based on his patreon) is going through lots of mental/family issues and stopped accepting patrons.
So what's your ideal horror game Yea Forums?
Mine is an inna woods simulator. You have to spend the night out in the woods with only your gun by your side and there's skinwalker somewhere out there.
ironically, there are good horror movies on that list
the first paranormal activity is the definitive realization of blair witch's vision
something like majora's mask on dmt where you're caught in a psychedelic time loop and have to unravel mysteries in order to get out
I always wonder what people who make these things actually enjoy.
idk about half of those movies are really good. i think it's just a dig at reddit
this might be the most cope post i've read this week
man fuck paranormal activity
no other horror movie got me like that
gore\body horror? sure
deep in the woods\deep waters? go for it
ayy lmaos\slashers\insects\w\e? throw all of them at me
but anticipation of something fucking up with me in my sleep?
holy fuck i nope'd the fuck out from that movie hard
Probably Ringu, Grudge, Hostel, Serbian horror and SAWs
It looks like it comes from Yea Forums so man of steel and suicide squad
Look on the bright side, Garfield horror was just a fad. After his short fleeting time in the spotlight is over, he'll shrivel up and be starved for views.
Ecco The Dolphin for Dreamcast. Messed up shit for a comfy aquatic game.
DUDE
CHAINSAW
LMAO
I'm not completely braindead, I'm aware that images like that are made just to trigger people for attention.
>spend the night out in the woods with only your gun by your side and there's skinwalker
something something darkwood
Come on. It doesn't even have the king of overrated horror.
smash bros
Is v really at the point where no one has had the "Attack of the Fishermen" panic attack?
I had so many cross country drives in the middle of the woods at night when I was a kid that this doesn't really phase me anymore. It's a shame because it looks well made.
Based

I laughed the entire time in the theater when it first came out, but couldn't sleep for a week after without a blanket over my head.
That's marmaduke, brainlet
>black man makes horror movie
>white-people-bad.wav
>"10/10" IGN "10/10" Kotaku "10/10" Game Informer
Unironcially, Minecraft. Nothing is scarier than hearing the cave noise at 4 am in the dark.
same. my pick for scariest game of all time. i still remember playing alpha and being chased by two giant spiders while trying to get back to my house in pitch black darkness.
it goes like this
first chapter -> gorish horror, most fucked up chapter of all
second chapter -> less gorish, more paranormal and weird stuff
third chapter -> literal my little pony friendship is magic vibe with a little surprise here and there
fourth chapter -> Mr. bones wild ride
fifth chapter -> comedy horror
all in all, a hell of a ride, totally recommend
I think the Peele hpe train is losing steam after Us.
the style and atmosphere of Paratopic could be expanded to something really amazing
majora's mask is a bona fide body horror videogame.
Space Engine
Yo
>using his art without his permission
thats like the shitiest thing to do to an artist outside of doing the same thing but also not giving any credit to the original artist
just fucking ask the duy if he is okay with using his art. It's really not hard to do. I don't know why the guy making the fangame wouldn't do that, especially since he would probably have said yes.
SCPSL Can still be pretty terrifying if you break away from the pack as a d-boi
P.T.
now bite my ass
Lake mungo is actual garbage as are the A24 films. Babadook is overrated.
vintage onions is actually all great movies except for eraserhead which is just an acid trip and non horror. Also suprised The Thing isn't on that list given the obvious pick it would be for baiting retards who think this chart is serious
unironically Diablo 1
That shit made me AltF4 the game. I was already on edge and that bullshit scared me so hard I thought I was going to vomit.
Blair Witch's finale was a bit lacking but aside from that it was great.
I've seen everything on the top row except Hereditary and They Look Like People and I would hesitate to describe any one of them as good horror movies. Some of them were entertaining, sure, but not scary.
I wish he didn’t do that stupid shit he does with moves or moving the ship around in Gar-Type with like pure fluidity. Immediately ruins all spritework illusion
>prefering the jump and laugh (with ocassional fart) scare rather than the constant feeling of dread
Yea Forums is for onions kids
Fuck this shit, I spent hours on it and couldn't figure out how to properly progress the sex scenes, I think it might've been broken.
Night Shift? I thought that was a /tg/ setting for World of Darkness?
The Babadook had two or three creepy scenes and the rest was just the kid fucking screeching all the time. I guess there are people traumatized by that but for me that was the most overrated turd in that top row. House of the Devil was also a borefest but I'd say Babadook is worse.
It's not an official app, is it? Honestly not even sure.
It isnt' his art though. You don't own fanart that you haven't had permission from the original IP holder. It's hypocritical because he never had permission to use Garfield from Jim Davis but he's going to be butthurt about a stupid fangame using it?
Except the music.
Fuck the stupid Garfield shit, his mario bros animations are pretty good
Yeah as phenomenal as the new ones are I'm not as fond of the Secret Agent vibe inherent to them. I miss 47 being consistently terrifying and how utterly fucking alien of a backstory he has compared to anything else in the games.
>Blood Money's increasingly oppressive atmosphere of the noose tightening around the ICA's neck until 47 is the last surviving agent, walking knowingly into an ambush-laden hell party
>Contracts ending with a wounded 47 outmaneuvering an entire SWAT team coming after him and quietly murdering the detective despite the literal army of cops surrounding them
>47 no-selling Parchezzi's "we're the same you and i" speech and murdering the god damn fuck out of him
The new ones have their moments though, like when you wait for Jordan Cross in his bedroom and let him plead for his life.
They wouldn't say that since it'd put them at a risk of being exposed for having shit taste. Judging by the "let me attempt to invalidate obvious counterarguments prematurely by saying that people who use them are stupid pls don't say mean things to me", the guy who made this is almost unfathomably insecure.
>You don't own fanart that you haven't had permission from the original IP holde
you dont actually believe this do you?
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHH MARIO PPUT ME BBACK I'M NOT DONE
the freshest meat possible
I love what Lumpy's channel became. He should experiment with different art and animation styles like this again cause it was pure gold
youtube.com
>that fucking macarena of time
It's a fucking dolphin nigger what the fuck do you think it is
A snarky remark isn't an argument.
Subnautica.
as a child, doom 64. gone were the rock soundtracks and bright levels. instead, hallwayes, enclosed spaces and cluttered rooms and lots of ominous ambient noises and darkness
So, what? Are we done here? Is that all you came to say?
the more I stare at it, the more questions I keep asking. What the fuck is it, why is it moving, why is this happen?
The Witch was okay, but the rest of the A24 films are fucking garbage. Agreed on Babadook. Haven't seen Lake Mungo. Is it really that bad?
House of the Devil at least had that kino dance scene.
This is the funniest "horror" movie other than the Insidious series.
Lake Mungo is okay if a bit slow at parts. It has that Unsolved Mysteries feeling which honestly makes me think it's half an hour longer than it should.
DK 64
GET OUT
>2deep4u platformer is "the scariest game he's ever played"
wow
The acting looks pretty cheesy now but this seriously used to freak me out when I was a kid.
Do the older Hitman games run well on modern PCs? I just noticed the first five of them are $10 in a bundle on Steam.
Lake Mungo is more of a mockumentary where the last few minutes are bad found footage stuff. I thought it had a few great moments but dragged otherwise.
Night Shift was great
Unfortunately the rest of his stuff feels too similar.
It's just a lot of "Run away from the killer and his deafening audio cues while collecting X"
Shit don't remind me.
I haven't played since Sims 3, but why don't the devs implement more failure scenarios? It's difficult as piss to get fired, lose money or relationships, or even die. The worst that usually happens to a Sim is that they get a less than favorable trait, which basically turns the Sims into a game where you can choose between winning big or winning a little. You can't fuck up your Sim unless you try to do so.
this
Sad Satan.
what
i hope this is bait
Marble Hornets is a thing of the past user. Although there is that one local TV station creepypasta that's pretty good, they put out a bunch of videos
great games, my only issue with them is the abrupt and unsatisfying endings both had
>A thread from 8am in the morning is still up
>Not even autosaging
Its official, Yea Forums is officially dying. Theres no way Yea Forums should be this slow in the middle of fucking summer.
Limbo was not scary whatsoever, nor meant to be. It's a puzzle game.
Shut up, Sam. You furry fuck. You make that sound like a bad thing.
> Is it really that bad?
Its fucking stupid and incredibly boring.
Who would defend lumpy tuch? I'm happy to see most people here understand how cheap and lazy his stuff is. I don't know how his channel continues to grow the way it has but I have a feeling we're in for a nice downfall in the near future. I'll see you guys then.
>Every level is basically a game of hide and seek
>Chaser Horrors
There's no bigger red flag for a horror game than it ever describing the chaser horror mechanics. You're just in for a really tedious time. Shit like Siren and White Day are fucking unplayable because you basically have to find a loop in the environment and then run that in circles for 10 minutes every 30 seconds after the horror spots you.
I'll pass.
