4 has a good deal of content, specially if you delve into the crafting portion of it. Far as 4s goes i think i remember only adding a harder mode, and some additional scenes, might be more than that

again, pc is a better alternative to both. Consoles are a relic from the age when ordinary pcs couldn't process high end graphics. They have no reason to exist given current technology.

i read japanese reasonably well but still prefer to play games in english. im tossing up whether or not to get rf4 special in jap when it comes out in 3 weeks.
never played one of these games though. is it very story based, or more of a "make number go up" game? if its just menus and stats and stuff i'll happily play it in jap, but if there's fuckloads of reading i'll just wait for english.

I like the system in Ever Oasis were you can't just covert your loots to currency but actually having to sell them in shops run but the town folks.

Biggest problem is that the consoles felt more limiting than the handhelds did, frontier with its runey system, oceans with it locking the girls down til badically end of the game due to plot. But, I think they can do well if they take all the good 4 brought minus the rng event stuff

Rune Factory is almost closer to Fantasy Life. It's way more about the shitty combat and weeaboo waifu simulator than it is farming. If that's your thing it's great.

It's pretty terrible that the last pure mainline HM was FoMT which was a weird remake(demake?) of BtN which was the weird cousin of HM64. I agree with the user that said we just need those games with more content. Also, a proper GB-styled Legend of the River King would be nice. The PS2 game was weird, man.

Problem with HM is that they keep adding/changing mechanics without any real reason instead of focusing on what made btn/64 so good, which was the atmosphere/chars, those games have so much less than say latest SoS, but it all feels so bland to me, that and time gated content whereas btn everything was available from the start i beleive, atleast within the 1st year.

Also lack of help in SoS games makes the daily grind even more of a chore
