Dnc is more linear than any tank class even now. You literally just press the buttons when they light up, there's no 2 brain cells required. It's a 2 button combo even, if you take the 10 seconds required to read your abilities once and remember which ability you hit first it plays itself.

The difference is mostly in the dungeon and raid design has it requires more healing, almost every boss even in dungeons have a low tankbuster and frequent party damage.

You are also dealing with a primal, a creature innately consumes aether around it and is a constant sieve demanding more and more aether. This is proven science in the setting. Zodiark would not sit pretty and idle with no means of consumption - this is likely the reason Hydaelyn said she is weakening, she has no sacrifices given to her but prayer.

Zodiark requires persistent sacrifices. If he does not, he is not a primal. If he is not a primal, then Emet spoke falsely. But Emet does not speak falsely, he withholds the truth. Therefore Zodiark is a primal, and Zodiark requires a constant flow of aether or will constantly siphon aether himself. Meaning he will require sacrifices.

Alternatively, you are Emet Selch and are taking a very generous view of Zodiark, one where a primal will willingly relinquish aether (to restore those whose souls were sacrificed to him) and obtain only enough aether to be neutral. Which contradicts all the science of an aether. This is not a kindly god. This is a Molochian god who constantly requires the sacrifice of life. Not crystals, not ambient aether, but life itself.

No. Hydaelyn is weakening because she gets weaker with every rejoining and the ascians have successfully been winning that war every single time until we came around.

Secondly OTHER primals are improper summonings. They literally are summonsed using an aether crystal as a catalyst and through the aether of the land around them. Not a single primal is summoned in the way that Zodiark and Hydaelyn is summoned that is, with a large amount of energy paid up front through the lives of others.

Secondly Zodiark only did what was required of it:

Scholar being forced to use heals on targets at 100% health is bad design and needs to be changed. That's the only real problem and they could fix it by giving them an aether skill that just gives mp or fairy gauge and not damage.

The only things that can permanently consume aether are primals and even this is questionable, all other forms of magic give it back to land. The planet itself is not in peril, however it seems like Hydaelyn is starved because it doesn't want to consume aether.

Zodiark and Hydaelyn are not primals in the traditional sense, they are a will imbued into the planet itself. Emet-Selch refers to them as primals because like primals they are manmade beings created from belief and magic. Emet himself said that the summoners of Zodiark were tempered. I am relying on the wiki quote in this case because the ingame remark about tempering is god knows how old and god knows what cinematic, but it "instills fanatical loyalty and secures a wellspring of faith (and thus aether)". We know this from every other tempering we have seen. Therefore, all those who were tempered by Zodiark went along with orchestrating more sacrifices for Zodiark because they were tempered. Not because of philosophical differences but because tempering enslaves you to the will of the primal. Only an echo preserves you from tempering - the Ascians have the power of the echo yet Emet himself says "Yeah we got tempered by Zodiark". So either Emet is a liar and he and the others are working on behalf of Zodiark by their own free will and they were not tempered - or they were tempered and now they exist as extensions of the will of Zodiark and will do everything to further the interests/power/aether of Zodiark. Even if they feel it's their own interests, tempering always results in enslavement to the will of the primal.

There's no guarantee that another freakishly strong hero shows up and in the time they wait it out Hydaelyn will get the chance to actually recover. There's also problems with them not causing a calamity now and wiping the slate clean because everybody in the world knows that they exist now.

4 faces * 2 genders * 7 races (counting viera + hrothgar together) = 56 faces
Not to mention Midlanders getting more than 4 faces and Highlanders getting their own face options
There are plenty of opportunities for unique characters, it's just more effort to make some of them look good and people want the path of least resistance

The problem is the actual lack of option though. Another is White griffin from pvp and Behemoth helmet all classes version but that's about it really. It still locks you in rather specific style and doesn't really match with a lot of armors.

It gets better at higher levels when you can weave in instant skills. Then sometimes the gcd is not slow enough. Try NIN.

Yeah, I've seen the WHM parses. I'm not saying it's better or anywhere close to the other healers, just that I didn't find it unplayable or (any more) clunky.
I even prefer the new card system for 4-player content over the old one where you were just fishing for two out of six cards.

In 4-player content a larger amount of the cards are useful you unit. Bole helps with megapulls. You can arrow your BLM or yourself for faster gravity.
Spear is more useful
Balance is still balance.
Spire actually is useful since you can throw it on a mch/mnk/war
And ewer lets you do more safe gravity

Given the fact that bosses may have more attacks that go through shields like Innocence does, Neutral Sect and Celestial Intersection are potentially completely worthless.

And the job does feel more clunky to me. Before you could CO, CI, AB and AH and then extend that shit to allow you to focus on dps or heal dps. Now you can't because that shit falls off too quickly. CI alone with AH and AB isn't strong enough to let you focus on healing and horoscope has to be kept track of if you have any inclination of actually using that. And this is just in casual content.

In our current extremes it's frustrating as shit to play because you need 3 plus buttons just to equate one cooldown from any one healer and your damage reduction has the smallest range out of all the healers and pacifies yourself. Which was fine in HW/SB when the heal was actually good but is abysmally shit now because that same 50 potency heals less than fucking EoS.

I hate this shit so fucking much. But at least WHM is fun(ner) to play.

You can't use synastry, lightspeed and ns constantly, you have downtime that other healers don't, you don't have enough oGCD heals to keep up, you need to wast time constantly refreshing aspected benefic.
Listen I love AST too, and yes, you can clear content with it, but it is so unbelievable far behind the other healers right now in terms of both healing and damage, it's not funny.
