Aight should I buy a switch??? I've never played a single nintendo game in my life and the switch looks fun, I'm worried that it's too late though, is it?

Too late for what? The only thing you would've really missed out on is Splatoon 2.
Super Smahs
Maybe Legend of Zelda
Thats about it
better off buying a wii u
user, always remember. if you ever want to touch a Nintendo console then look for indications that a better version is on the way or something.
this applied to every Nintendo handheld and since the Switch is a handheld/console hybrid I suggest that you wait patiently without getting rash.
why?
waiting is really bad when it comes to life of a handheld you said it yourself
Switch has terrible online and games (most of which are ports) wii u's online is free and has original games (cheap too) but if you play games a lot on the go i guess go with the switch
you won't miss out now because there's still nothing too worthwhile.
I'd personally only bite the bullet if Metroid Prime 4, Metroid Prime Trilogy and Metroid 5 somehow became a reality.
>I'm worried that it's too late though
Eh?
??? the Switch is barely over two years old and the console is massively succesful. It's not going away any time soon.
Stop making such reasonable points dude this is Yea Forums
Too late for what?
That's not entirely true, Wii U is only a better option of you want to play XBX, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Wonderful 101 and if you missed out on Wii library.
and BotW obviously.
and guess what? Cemu still exists so no reason to buy one.
>I'm worried that it's too late though, is it?
for what reason?
Let me tell you this, i was skeptical about the switch at first because it was really lackluster but boy was i wrong, god damn that little thing is fucking awesome, completely deserved success.
Don't listen to rumors and if you want to have fun just get yourself one and some games
Ask yourself this
>are there enough singleplayer games on this console that I'd like to play?
If so, buy it. My personal metric is spending as much money on games as I did on the console. Basically if a Switch is $300, it should at least have games priced at $300 total to be worth it. A friend wanted to sell me his old PS4 for about $150 since he wanted to get a pro, I couldn't come up with enough games to justify it.
thanks, I really want to enjoy some lighthearted games, I've only ever played the violent ones
It's never too late. But hold off on buying a Switch for a year or two until the hardware revision comes out and there are more games available.
>I really want to enjoy some lighthearted games
Then don't look any further.
I realized not too long ago that a lot of the surface thinking some people have on nintendo consoles and games, calling them childish, is actually what makes them so good. Playing overly realistic stuff feels like a chore, but with nintendo colorful shit it feels like ... a videogame, something fun, and it's that fun aspect that makes it so enjoyable.
go for it, it's great
No games desu, its a fucking shame to, pick one up in a few years user.
Put dragon marked for death in shit tier.
literal money sink of a game that sold you two characters for twice the price
So apparently Code Vein will actually hit the Switch so for what's worth, that's another reason to get it
for when you need sweet 576p mega milkies on the go
Is it worth buying now though? Is the pro/mini coming out anytime soon? Don't want to buy for them to just release a new version.
>too late
The games still exist, retard.
>Cemu still exists so no reason to buy one.
Shit emulator.
5 game rule.
Does it pass? Yes? Get it. If not, don't. It's not rocket science.
>I've never played a single nintendo game in my life
you have to be 18 years or older to post on this website
It may be too late if you want to be a piratefag on the switch. Finding a rcm vulnerable unit is pretty hard nowadays. That being said, I was wondering about using emunand on atmosphere: emunand works by emulating a nand so your real nand is untouched, right? So, I assume that you put your pirated nand you boot hekate or whatever and the nand on sdcard and when you want to go legit you boot normally without the piratefag sdcard inserted right?
Also, will I be forced to use a jig to get into rcm if I do this? I assume that having autorcm would lead to a ban if I boot into normal firmware. Also, is it known if Nintendo can detect the switch booting in rcm to load hekate\emunand, or nothing at all gets logged if you boot with rcm, making it completely undetectable?
It's been "coming soon" for almost 2 years now. Nobody fucking knows if they're even going to release a revision.
The most reasonable bet is a portable only version, with no hardware upgrades, similar to the 2DS between December of this year and next year. We might get a pro by 2023 if they want to extend the switch lifespan.
>Finding a rcm vulnerable unit is pretty hard nowadays
ipatched unit up to 4.1 are now hackable too
yes, real nand remains untouched.
you can boot the ofw without removing the emunand sd card.
no, autorcm is not something you want to use with emunand.
no, nintendo can not detect whether or not the switch booted into rcm.
but you should still wait if you want to use emunand, it's still beta software. wait until it's stable and until you know what kind of countermeasures nintendo will implement in the next ofw.
You will be waiting forever then because there is always a new one coming out wow
Yeah if you can name five games you want on it
Bought it when MHXX was unveiled. Worth it for that alone desu.
No
>But hold off on buying a Switch for a year or two until the hardware revision comes out
No thats retarded, if you want a swithc buy one now
In two years you might as well just wait for the switch 2
Zelda
Um....
Mario?
I'm out
>I've never played a single nintendo game in my life
Literally how?
You mean wii u 3?
He's a man of taste and integrity
Hacked switch is a god tier system. You get to play Ninty's single player games for free with many improvements such as pirated amiibos, save editing, and if that's your thing some games also have mods and hacks, plus it's also great to play low spec indies on a portable (I recently enjoyed Hollow Knight, Shantae, Stardew Valley, and more), and you also get emulation up to the N64. Now with emummc you can also be a buyfag and play original games online without risk of being banned on a hacked system.
Hekate can boot your clean OFW sysnand.
If there are enough games that you find interesting on it, sure.
If you plan on playing in handheld mode mainly I would wait a bit though to see if the Switch mini leaks are true, it looks great.
That's great, thanks. I've been playing pirated shit for a year now, so correct me if I'm wrong, but this is how I should proceed:
1. take full dump of my pirated NAND
2. use this dump as emunand
3. restore my original virgin backup
4. update to 8.10 ofw and stay legit on this one
5. If I want to pirate, insert pirate sdcard and have hekate boot to it
Only things needed are a joycon jig because you can't use autorcm. Is that right?
1. Emunand will automatically copy your current sysnand, you don't need to dump/restore it
3/4. Yes, restore and boot into your clean, offline sysnand but run it with CFW and update the system firmware with ChoiDujourNX using the latest firmware from darthsternie.net
5. You don't need a second SD card for pirating/emunand, you can have all your files on one
Actually this one might look better than GE3 on the switch. Since is 33% less demanding on the NVIDIA GPU.
