It's probably not even brainwashing, Zodiark likely *did* end up stopping The Final Days, he just needed way more power than he had to do so. If Zodiark is powerful enough to stop the literal end of the world (and keep in mind that Emet-Selch is powerful enough to recreate an entire city and its inhabitants from literally nothing) then he's probably on the level when its said that he can bring back an entire dead civilization.

Don't think so. Hythlodaeus was just Emet-Selch's best friend (but not on the councoil) who took a neutral position.

Which is why I said reconstructing. Hythlo turned out different from the other illusions and he theorized himself that Emet Selch made a mistake because he meant something to him, as a friend.
It is explained the magic of creation makes it so that the slightest distraction can have huge consequences. Why would Emet Selch mess up Hythlo in his immense power if he wasn't the friend he cared about even after hundred of millennia?

Play on miqo'te being sluts either way since she's referred to as Obscenity. With the specific-race sin eaters (the ones modeled after viera, elezen and miqo'te females) they're named after some negative trait that can be ascribed to their race in general as a sin

I get that. What i ment is that if the false Hythlo can sense Ardbert then so can Emet, its all him at the end of the day
Xavier Jackson
There aren't even 7 other fragments of your soul left, dipshit.
Daniel Gomez
You know, I'm curious. Emet-Selch says he's going to erase you by going back in time once he's finished with the G'raha.
Instead of that, why not just go back and prevent the original calamity so Zodiark doesn't even need to be summoned and no one dies?
Oliver Diaz
but crit is good too, hmm I'll guess I'll use the ones I have and buy determination ones for now
Benjamin Hernandez
I mean of course, that happens to every mmo, but that's because people evolve alongside with them, but the encounters in XIV are still far easier than WoW during a raid release.
People clear wow raids at a higher percentage only because Blizzard starts nerfing them and people get too much gear and begin to brute force them, but in their starting state they are much harder.
Bentley Kelly
Except they're not actually killing life to continue their own unlike the Ascians. In undoing their timeline they hope to push reality into a timeline where people thrive, civilization holds and the Warrior of Light is still around longer. Have you forgotten that Alexander himself has taken into account the multiple timelines and pushed you alongside the path to the best one as well?
>comparing it to Emet
While his intentions were close to those of the Source's future the Source decided to just undo itself and change the variables up for a new timeline. Emet wanted to push Calamity onto Calamity till all Shards were whole to bring back Zodiark which in then he would offer up the lives of the survivors from the Calamity itself in exchange for his people.
Adam Long
Because he's tempered. He can't erase Zodiark.
Gabriel Jenkins
It was honestly kind of sad after beating him. I dont know, I have a soft spot for characters who deluded upbringing leaves them honestly believing their dogma. Seeing him confused and on the verge of tears over being beaten when he legitimately saw himself as a just god was rough
Charles Long
Because he can't. He literally can't. Emet-Selch is tempered by Zodiark, and as a result, he cannot take any action that is detrimental to Zodiark. Preventing the first calamity negates the need for Zodiark, meaning he's never summoned.
The real sad truth is if he wasn't tempered, that is almost certainly what he would do.
Jaxson Campbell

There were seven rejoinings as of present, so it's probably the fragments that were already rejoined to you, pulled from a point in time before their calamity.
Julian Ortiz
He's not the one with the ability of affect space and time, zodiark is.
Lucas Phillips
You got that dragon juice.
Jayden Hernandez
But Ardbert always stood by WoL, not only that it was shown that he was literally next to WoL when he was in the process of turning in front of Emet Selch.
He couldn't sense it. He doesn't have the ability to see the soul of someone else. Hythlo could.
The Amaurotine folks reconstructed were based on actual people, it doesn't seem far-fetched that they can sense their own souls in a way that Emet Selch couldn't. He himself probably didn't know Hythlo was a mistake.
Leo Davis
they remove skills to reduce bloat on our hotbars with no thought to the leveling experience

Or they are just "champions from beyond the rift" like they are literally stated to be. Why do people always have to make everything more complicated?
Samuel Sullivan
Indeed, with the powers described by Hades, Zodiark may be immune to time shenanigans anyway.
Austin Edwards
What should I be melding as a tank? Did Tenacity ever get buffed enough to make it a consideration for progression at least? Is Crit still king with DH second? If I plan to have GNB as an alt, is SS any more important for them than other starts?
Dominic Lee
I agree with that. Abyssal seems fine but I wouldn't mind the CD being shaved off if you hit a certain amount of enemies with Flood/Quietus or something, although I won't mind if it stays the same as it is right now.
Samuel Bell

Nabriales invoked Zodiark when using his time magic. Honestly Zodiark may just end up coming in from that other timeline.
Thomas Turner
Has anyone drawn out the timeline in graphic form? I understand all the events and how things played out but due to the supposed time desyncing between the Source and the First (Conveniently getting back in sync for your arrival) things are kind of muddy with how it all lines up. Especially with what is revealed at the end of the Twinning.
Dylan Edwards
I figured they were other Warriors of Light from the remaining shards. Not /you/ specifically, but Hydaelyn's Chosen.
Charles Russell

Mor dhona
Owen Ross
That was most likely what he wanted to do, Emet places an immense amount of importance on his own calamity. It depends on the nature of Zodiark's tempering as well, since it was a primal specifically created to stabilize reality, and being tempered doesn't necessarily mean you will re-summon the primal at all costs, ie Ramuh and the Sylphs where he gave his tempered specific instructions to not summon him again unless it was absolutely necessary.
You could probably argue that restabilizing reality by making sure the Amaurotine calamity never happened is in line with Zodiark's wishes. There's other primals perfectly fine with their own self-termination or self-imprisonment to protect the world, like Alexander, though he didn't have any tempered that we knew about to draw parallels to besides the two au ra he sent back in time to become their own ancestors(?)
Logan Kelly
tenacity is still shit, skill speed is been nerfed into the ground, crit and dh are your best bets. where you can't get those, fall back on DET
Luke Foster
>stop the original Calamity
It's already stated that they could not do that. Even with the knowledge they have now they still assume Zodiark himself is the will that brought Law back to the star itself. Not mentioning the fact that he's tempered of course. If he wanted to undo it all he'd prevent the summon of Hydaelyn but that would bring a new problem, Zodiark's constant demand of life to further fuel his power and keep things in check. Honestly all that will arise from this story is Hydaelyn and Zodiark either being brought to terms to act as balancing forces or something else doing it in their stead. Hydaelyn tries to maintain life to such an extreme that it has fractured the world and Zodiark demands life to further sustain his will creating an eventual decline and overall death of any civilization, Ascian included.
Sebastian Diaz
One of the major reasons why this expansion's story was so successful was that we only focused on one story. It wasn't split between two storylines and didn't have us constantly shooting back to the Source or another silly area to do something that wasn't really what we wanted. We wanted to go to the First and that's what we got even to the point that almost everyone is still stuck on the First.
Heavensward was similar, but only because Heavensward's second story was so shitty and forgettable, most people forget that the expansion had a concurrent story-line throughout.
Stormblood suffered heavily by going to Japanland. We were under the impression we were going to liberate Ala Mhigo and instead got to spend the vast majority of the expansion liberating and hanging out in Japanland. The two storylines fragmented the story and made it a pain to deal with.
My only fear is that SE will take the woman who wrote this story and offer her another position in the company as her ability to tell stories is of a higher quality than the last two expansions.
Isaiah Allen
What about SkS on Gunbreaker since it quadruple dips on all their skills for them?
Carter Torres
I swear Shinryu was more difficult, but it might just be everyone has improved since then. The only wipes I've had on Hades is from new players not knowing all the mechanics right away, where Shinryu had a lot of instant kills like the tidal wave and frost pushing people off the edge or Ahk Morn killing tanks that didn't stack.
Michael Morales
I guess. To me its more that Emet is fucked in the head in some ways and only unconsciously could sense Ardberd, the same way he unconsciously gave Hythlo "free will", who goes on to notice him
Matthew Harris
>gil and leves
Isn't the point of crafting to make gil? It seems like a chicken-and-egg type deal
Charles White
skill speed is good, but the amount needed right now to get any worthwhile gains isn't really worth it unless they buff the stat. they hit it hard with the combat change from stormblood to shadowbringers
Jacob Cox
Zodiark didn't demand life constantly, just to invoke literally world changing shows of power, which...Honestly, if you're stopping the slow encroachment of magic cancer on the world, then fixing the broken lands left behind? Yeah, I'd say that tracks.
Elijah Perry
"distant stars" doesn't even seem to be about the shards specifically

Doing it the slowest, cheapest way through beast tribes probably takes about a month per crafter. With a full set of 100 leves and the ability to make HQ gear, you can go from 1-70 in a day. 71-80 seems to be pretty easy too.
Jose Garcia

witch is why i think he can, and does so only through the fake Hythlo, but not consciously
Lucas James
This is fair, but the mere fact that those who summoned him are tempered they would eventually continue invoking him leading to the same problem in the end. Hydaelyn is the only reason the new life itself has thrived in a sense but as Emet puts it they're all incomplete and frail reflections of what was. You can make things whole again by rejoining the shards but the eventual use of Zodiark will eventually kill off that life since the constant invoking of him by his tempered followers would not stop till they were out of the picture.
Andrew Russell
Where is it said that Zodiark constantly needs power? The thanos snap only applied if they wanted something that needed immense amount of power. Like bringing back the sacrificed Ascians. And where has the sacrifices been applied since then if he truly needs energy? The rejoining of the shards weren't sacrificed for the sustenance of Zodiark itself.
Hydaelin would also need constant energy if it was the case.
Samuel Cruz

To be fair, Ardbert doesn't show up until after Emet's fucked off before the big showdown, where there's so much shit going on you can forgive him for missing Ardbert's shard in the veritable lightshow that's going on. Especially so when your soul color seems to be "white", so I imagine Emet misses Ardbert simply because Ardbert's borderline invisible with you around to cover his ass.
Xavier Richardson
Ryne was also able to see the colour of his soul. This doesn't mean you are given the ability to see a fragment of someone's soul detached from the host itself. This is not the same thing.

If the text lines are anything to go off by in one of the cutscenes you do end up asking him where he was in which he replied that even he had to give you your privacy. Or with Seto as he walks away after learning how much his bird loved him. Ardbert only really joined you when you were alone as to not make you seem crazy.

>forgetting the First's take on Umbral Light and Astral Dark
Light creates stasis and is the main aspect behind Black Rose. It's why the First being flooded with light would have been properly paired with the usage of Black Rose. Hydaelyn herself is a passive force, Zodiark on the other hand is an Active force that needs to be invoked upon to have anything done and by Emet's own words each time he was invoked it cost half his people.
Michael Howard
Relatively fun, you can play the trial to level 35 as any of the base ARR jobs, which will give you more then enough time to decide if you want to sub/pay for more expansions.

If you like heavy story focus that locks 99% of the content behind it, yeah.

Leveling GNB right now. Should I weave brutal shell combo into AoE combo during big dick aoe pulls? Kinda hate that I either have to pick between AoE, or self healing/shield single target combo, seeing that th eonly other way to heal myself is with aurora.

Yup, we're 9/14ths complete now instead of 8/14ths.

Actual content was great but its premise of an Ala Mhigo expansion went out the window immediately. Incidental focus on raid-buffs in job design ended up breeding a huge amount of autism in regards to party meta that's still attempting to persist even in Shadowbringers where personal-DPS is king (unless you're Dancer).
Zachary Baker
Levi Thomas
Its a WoW clone with a story focus. It's raids are more encounter based than anything with the game just plopping you down in front of the boss. Best to play it for the story and sub 3-4 times a year for the Raid tier itself honestly as getting your crafting/gathering done is child's play after the Expansion launch as you end up relying on macros. If you're trying to avoid Theme Parks then you won't really find anything new here other than 2 good story expansions, one shit expansion and a boring slog at the first half of ARR.
I do love the story but you must be really retarded if you think most people will excuse such a heavy lock behind story in MMOs just cause of the brand name itself. I personally understand as someone who has played all the mainlines including XI but for most people just itching for an MMO they'll lock at FF and probably think twice about touching it. Never forget that its competing in an MMO space.

There's more room for mistakes. AF timers are longer so you can dodge aoes and still get your fire IVs in. Sharpcast is on a 30s cooldown so you can sharp fire to get yourself more AF time and get your despair off as well. Xeno is also instant cast so you can save your polyglot for when you need to move and keep dealing damage while mobile. Umbral soul might also help if you need to move and happen to be in UI.
Probably will never ever be as blind-friendly as RDM, but it's more forgiving.

Competing against who? WoW? That's the only other successful MMO outside of Korea bullshit. A case might be made for ESO, but even then it's still not near the levels of FFXIV.
It's clear that story matters a lot and that's the defining characteristic of XIV. If people are going to get butthurt about having to do a story well then they shouldn't bother playing. I'm sure there's some flavor of the month battle royale they can play.
Nathaniel Bailey
Split story focus that only hurt the impact of bother liberations, not to mention rushed in the launch patch itself instead of being spread throughout the expansion as a whole, Eureka being shit and locking the Relic which has propped up longevity of older content and mostly unmemorable content as a whole. Not to say most of it was bad but most of it was barely edging on good if anything. Mediocre expansion all around.

The only thing "more squishy" about GNB is their invuln. Everything else is great. Spam Heart of Stone on CD, use other mitigation to fill in the gaps. Camo is a weak one so use it in conjunction with Aurora or at the end of a pack when the mobs are starteing to die.
Grayson King
>Cid
Cid didn't make it, it was future generations of Ironworks that did. Did you not see the final cutscene of that Quest in which the 3rd Briggs left a message for G'raha Tia? It took generations and 13 presidents of the Ironworks to even get that far.

Seemed like a 100% mechanical reverse-engineering of Alexander Prime. Has interesting implications for the primal itself that you actually fight, namely that its time-travel was a purely mechanical process instead of an innate ability of the primal.
Cid didn't live to see the Ironworks Alexander or send G'raha Tia off, post-dungeon the voice on the recorder is Biggs' grandson and the eighteenth president of Garlond Ironworks.
Jordan Reed
Yeah, I'm generally willing to give 14 a pass because they really had to rush that shit out after the nightmare that was 1.0.

Cid and Nero worked until death on the project. Together. Then the heirs of Ironworks continued their work, putting the theory to practice.
James Walker
>GNB is definitely a bit squishier but I can't pin down exactly why since it has equivalents to other tank cooldown abilities
That's because it isn't, it's a fucking meme. Camo and Aurora are great for autoattacks, Heart of Stone is like Shelltron and will always be up for busters or AoE and you still get Rampart, Reprisal and Nebula, on top of Brutal Shell, as minimal as it may be.
Angel Ward
One of the big questions I'm left wondering is how exactly the original catastrophe came into existence for the Ascian utopia. Didn't Emet basically say that the laws of the planet itself began to basically unravel? This is an evil which is the oldest yet known.

>But the Ascians wanted to sacrifice the "ambient life" in order to bring its civilization back.
Nope, they explicitly state that it took half the Ascian population to HALT the apocalypse, then they were preparing to offer up half their remaining population to REVERSE it when the Hydaelyn summoning happened. Considering this is how literally every other primal (except Hydaelyn who is literally dying as a result) operates (having its followers offer up more and more Aether until nothing is left) it's safe to assume it would have led to the eventual extinction or near-extinction of the Ascian race. Or more likely, someone resummoning Hydaelyn to counteract the loss of life and an endless repetition of the cycle
Elijah Rivera
Also pretty hilarious when WoL gestures Ardbert to come with them on the elevator and the dude behind him thinks he's being signaled to until some thot gives him the "you wish" look.

It seemed more like a natural disaster which itself may or may not have been the result of the ancients themselves overusing creation magic.

We still need to find a way back home for the scions, and Eden will probably be about trying to rebuild and reclaim the world the Flood has taken. I'm guessing we'll also eventually figure out what caused the catastrophe, and will have to have a talk with Hydaelyn about what her deal is.
Wyatt Davis
What was the disagreement about Ascians even about then? They weren't going to sacrifice themselves to death, they had a fall back plan to bring everyone back.

They were going to sacrifice themselves to death, they had no "fallback" plan. Zodiark likely wouldn't be able to actually resurrect all the dead Ascians without a tremendous amount of Aether. Emet-Selch planned to offer up the ENTIRE POPULATION OF THE FUCKING SOURCE as a sacrifice just to bring back the Amaurotines, let alone the rest of the Ascians. The group who split off and summoned Hydaelyn likely did so because they foresaw the demands of Zodiark spiraling out of control and unlike their brethren didn't trust him to not continue escalating his demands.

Yes and no. While there's no word on further sacrifices, the other Ascians understandably reasoned that having a supreme overgod with complete control over a race of demigod creators is a disaster waiting to happen. You can't really say Hydaelyn and Zodiark are villains, as they're only doing what they were summoned to do. Hell, you can't even blame the pro-Zodiark Ascians. By Emet's own admission, they summoned him only when they were completely out of options. He was the Hail Mary.
There are no true villains playing the cosmic game, that's the catch of Shadowbringers. Every Ascian on both sides had a perfectly valid reason for doing what they did, and genuinely and truly believed they did the best they could with what they had.
Juan Clark

yeah but there's no indication yet as to Zodiark's motives or personality or anything, we just know that the Ascians are tempered in some way that is unlike the primals we know in the Source, and that the Ascians are self-sacrificing to a fault and that the 75% offering to Zodiark was voluntary

>the future G'raha Tia comes from is completely and utterly fucked post-calamity, suggesting that the rejoining and revival of zodiark didn't fucking work
This one is actually Elidibus's fault. The Ascians have made it clear time and again that if the Source gets fucked, it's game over. The Light Aether infused Black Rose, which was Elidibus's idea, wound up wiping out damn near all life.
It's not that reviving Zodiark didn't work, it's that Elidibus fucked the Source beyond all repair before they could even get the plot for 9th Rejoining up and running.

I thought I saw someone say that Emet only needed eight calamities to get Zodiark back. A full rejoining was impossible the moment the thirteenth turned into a useless void.
Joshua Lewis
One require some coordination. The other doesn't.
Christopher James
I had a friend rant about that earlier and I forgot it existed. It was mercifully brief. Still it's worth remembering that HW wasn't as strong as this expansion and that likely is part of it.
Either the ancients abused and misused creation magic (the manipulation of aether) and so enraged the gaia spirit of the star it sought to cleanse them ( neoseeker.com
Or it's Lavos/Jenova.
The momentum of their own madness and panicking played a part but I refuse to believe the original calamity is literally just "An ancient heard a spooky noise, made a monster because he thought of it - that scared 2 more ancients who made more monsters which scared more ancients" because of how stupidly banal that is.
It was the sound from below, the cacophanous keening that drove them mad and in the process led to panic creating even more monsters and horrors.
Noah Barnes

True north means you ignore the position of the enemy. Meaning, during the time of the buff is active, you get positional bonus regardless of your actual position. Use it when you find yourself unable to move due to aoe's or other things.
Julian Perry
You're wrong, eventually the land would have begun to heal again and repopulate, even if it took centuries. The rejoining isn't a short term plan and past umbral eras lasted generations, only in 2.0 they decided to just end it after five years because plot. It's entirely possible that in that timeline there weren't any more calamities because the ascians were biding their time.
Ryan Miller

The Drachen armor (the level 45/item level 50 stuff that's weaker) can be augmented with a special item which lets you dye it. The Wyrm Armor (the level 50/item level 90 stuff) can't be dyed no matter what, just use it as your gear until you get better gear (either Ironworks gear from tomestones of Poetics in Mor Dhona, or the MSQ gear)
Dominic Morgan
Not entirely sure they made the Cthonic boss monster. Furthermore the 'Keening' that drove them insane likely has a source in the form of something that could be considered a 'big bad'.
Easton Bailey
Drachen is effectively pointless now but you can dump it into your armoire, it's special gear and won't take up a glamour-dresser slot. You can als craft or buy some armor augment items to get a dyeable version of Drachen armor.
True North lets you ignore directional requirements for moves, like the boosted potency on Chaos Thrust.
Carter Wilson
I mean't like is the max level 80 or 90 or what?
Grayson Sanders
No it wasn't. Listen to the dialogue again. Something triggered the calamity.
Parker Morgan
I mean, it's possible but it would make for a flaccid ending to the Amaurot story and would leave too many questions, like how the calamity they were facing started on the other side of the world, whether Amarout was the only society with super-accessible creation magic (the implication is that Amaurot was special given the dialogue), and the fact that Zodiark was created to "rewrite the laws of reality"

The calamity was caused by some kind of fraying of the fundamental laws of reality. The conversations with the citizens of Amaurot show that "spontaneous creation" was already occurring in distant lands, and the convocation was already making plans to summon Zodiark, even before Amaurot itself was feeling the effects of the calamity. The effects were a gradual undoing of the fabric of reality and not just "there was a big noise that made everyone go insane", which is why they had to summon Zodiark to rewrite the laws of reality.
Ian Price
It still bothers me that they use Titania as the title of king instead of Oberon.

There are no different races during the Ascians time and thus all creatures had the ability of creation magic. Somewhere and somehow creation magic started to go array and nightmares were being created and destroying civilizations on the planet. At first it was small and not such a big deal, but as time went on the conflict got bigger and bigger until finally it landed in Amarout and destroyed it. As people fled in fear, more and more monsters were created and attacked.
I'm not saying the monsters were consciously created, but were created sub-consciously. As more nightmares were created, more people felt fear, and as more people felt fear, more nightmares were created. It likely took longer for it to hit Amarout as their society seemed to be devoid of individual differences. So it probably took longer for their creation magic to go array, but that didn't stop the council from trying to figure out a way to stop it.

I don't think it is said anywhere that they were going to summon Zodiark after the 8th calamity.
This is what I hate about speculative lore discussion its just rampant spread of misinformation and in the end you can't discuss anything at all because everyone is working off personal conjecture and wrong information that they "heard somewhere" from someone who was just making shit up.
Owen Richardson
>It still bothers me that they use Titania as the title of king instead of Oberon.
Why? Because you're a brainlet? Titania is king because Titania was a pixie before they had the concept of kings. The reason they chose the title King and not Queen is because the title was a tribute to Voeburt's fallen king. It also lines up with history and mythology because many female monarchs were called king in the past.
Carter Wright
Why are people having so much problems with the plank operation? It is very simple.
Jose Flores

Not quite; all of Amaurot is very much real, it was created by Emets creation magic which is why it persists even after his death.
Josiah Wood

The citizens also mention
>None can point to the source of the phenomenon. Tis as if the star itself has fallen ill - as if a force inimical to life now festers and spreads
>Tis said it starts suddenly, a cacophonous keening from beneath the earth. The sound distorts all living things within earshot, and wrests from us control of our creation magics.
The Ancients' creation magics creating their own terrors is eluded to later. This plays a part but is not by any measure the genesis of the calamity. Something else is causing it before they go mad. The madness just intensifies it. And their sins somehow are what truly doomed them - and Therion is that third and final doom, and Therion in the past game purged those who violated the flow of the crystal's energies.
So I agree with you, reality was being undone. But it wasn't precipitated because of someone mishearing a noise. Something was causing creation, the star itself, to grow sick and inimical to life.
Either that was the abuse of magic and the crystal having a fever or antibodies to kill off the infection (The ancients) or it is Lavos/Jenova analogue. I am inclined to believe it's the star itself screaming out at the abuse of aether and magic.

Considering past FF, wouldn’t the planet itself be the cause of the original cataclysm? Maybe the power of creation drew from its lifeforce and it was its «defense mechanism».
The plot would be that the planet is focused on its own self-survival and mankind would be constantly slain without a Primal to take over. They’re the only barriers between them and the will of the planet (which is not sentient, but more strictly focused to preserve itself)

yeah, but seeing as the entirety of Gridania and Limsa believed in you and how not even Ul'dah would be united in taking you down (Godbert in particular wouldn't take this lying down), and the consequences of the events led to Minfilia dying for real, we could have used a little more stuff than just a panicked escape sequence to Ishgard

Then that's their fault for not PLAYING THE GAME. You have to be a special kind of retard if you don't know how to queue into a dungeon, use the roulette which the game expressly tells you about in big fucking popup icons, or even PLAY THE STORY FOR EXP.

I'm already leveling BLM. I largely expect smn to be buffed in the raid patch or savage raid patch. There is no chance they'll leave it this bloated/complex and low/mid tier dps. Sam is absolutely fucking braindead and is probably the best overall dps.
Kevin Nguyen
Are we tempered? Ardbert was raising his hand against Hydaelyn for a while.

So you're telling me it wasn't brought about by the Ascians themselves despite the fact that it's not stated explicitly at all how the cataclysm started? What we got was someone hearing a noise and then things cascaded out of control. You don't know what the noise is and neither do I. The simple fact is the noise could have caused one retard to come up with the most horrific thing ever that caused the end of civilization.
We're talking about beings that can literally create anything out of almost nothing.

I haven't seen a single DRG out damage a SAM yet, but their battle litany is disgustingly OP compared to trick attack even. How did they get away with it?
Carson Morris
I'm fine with ninja's having a raid buff, but it doesn't really fit their aesthetic to be honest. Trick attack just sucks cock because it makes other jobs play weird, like SMN almost insta deathflares out of trance to get bahamut out faster. Its bad design.
something about scribbling all over the football map to show plays, its referring to how you're pressing a fuck ton of buttons frantically
Landon Morris
If you want to subject yourself to MSQ walls where you have to stop and gain additional levels sure.
Oliver Nguyen
If that has precedence in a prior FF then it's a valid idea, but otherwise it's an incredibly underwhelming and almost amusing reason for everything - the 14 divisions, the Zodiark and Hydaelyn war, the birth of primals, all because a Ediiblibususyth got sent a jumpscare by Hierophatanaxyus.
Also I neglect to mention the keening NPC: Anxious Amaurotine, "The End of the World" questline.
>Tis said it starts suddenly, a cacophonous keening from beneath the earth. The sound distorts all living things within earshot, and wrests from us control of our creation magicks.
then the very next line of dialogue
>ONCE that happens, all is lost. Fear, pain, despair, every dread impulse is siphoned from our minds and given substance. an eternal fall of fiery rain; an incessant spawning of nightmarish beasts.
So very explicitly the underground screaming precedes the panicked spawning. The underground screaming wrests control of their creation magicks. Judging from other dialogue it appears like an Amaurotine before this calamity has creation be a conscious decision - it's not as if the minute they think of anything it exists. Rather, they have to concentrate and focus. If something happens and their mind drifts during the concentration then the creation is twisted - see the gryffon dialogue.
But what the calamity does is it takes away their ability to control it. It makes it so, curiously, only dreadful thoughts manifest. Not hope, just the negative things.
Adam Baker
your argument is that new players are somehow even more retarded than you
there is nothing to be gained from even pretending to address it

My hypothesis currently she is trying to limit her own power and intervene as only absolutely necessary, such as Lahabrea doing Ultima on us before we came into our powers. Even Hades said she was imbued with a will to protect life.

DRG is considerably harder to play properly than SAM. It's faster and you HAVE to hit your positionals and are heavily punished for not. Also keeping up tether is a harder mechanic than SAMs entire existence because people are retarded.

Josiah Moore
Completely doable, but you'll have quest markers clustered around your aetherytes.
Do them at some point between roulette queues and MSQ level walls. The stories are nice sometimes. The only side quests you really should do are the ones that get you aether currents so you can unlock flight in that area.
Jackson Price
Then what the fuck are anons talking about by saying just stick with the main quests? Do I or do I not?
Dylan Williams
Never played Revolutions in any fight.
Dominic Moore
Honestly yes. MSQ should give you more than enough to hit 50 before the end of ARR as long as you do your roulettes. Save those side quests for when you're levelling a DPS alt and need something to do. Plus theres about 100 level 50 MSQs after you finish the last dungeon to do afterwards so you'll have plenty of EXP to go around.
Also do the Hildibrand questline for kino content.
Hudson Jones
I've kinda disliked all the dialogue options because I've had some regrets about ones I've picked throughout the story. It usually doesn't hit me until after I've picked one, because there's some tough choices.
Charles Edwards
>heavily punished for not
And a SAM not hitting positionals means offsetting its kenki rotation instead of a simple potency loss
Evan Garcia
Tbh, I would really like it if it was that underwhelming. It actually makes it a lot more realistic in the idea that such a powerful race can be laid lo by such a minor thing. Not everything needs to be a big bad evil and I like the idea that there's nothing stronger or greater than the Ascians and that it was themselves who ended their world.
FF precedence probably means you're right and it's just going to be some big bad from another FF game.
Dylan Roberts
I do.
Parker Miller
Tbh, they don't matter. Some of the dialogue choices will literally give you the same response. You can also re-do a lot of dialogue choices by going to the inn.
Juan Ortiz
If you see a side quest with a picture in its quest log, you should do it. it means it's a actual story not just a one-off "kill shit" quest.

How does leveling a 2nd job work? Do you do the same exact quest lines except for a few job specific ones? Like say you completed a hub of side quests, would those be available again while leveling up another job?
Jayden Moore
Do you seriously think 10% crit every 3 min is better than 10% damage every 1 min? You are legit fucking retarded dude.
