Never seen a single person win an argument against a fighting game player. Never seen a single good argument against fighting games in general

I've never seen a single good argument as to why you shouldn't be playing them.

What's your excuse V?

is that an alpha screenshot?
I don't remember the meters being that way

I tried getting into a fighting game twice. They just aren't for me.

they aren't fun

The only arguments are literally "too hard" or "lack of content" so to me, it's based

Acquire Proficiency

I get too angry when I lose. I also get angry when I win. I sent out a few death threats during Smash 4.

The FGC is like a cult. There are no good arguments against it.

I do actually play them, pretty new to the genre and suck though. Play SFV, been really enjoying SamSho though. I enjoy watching old games but most have too small of player bases for me to take a solid interest in., seeing ten people in fightcade for a game just kills my motivation.

I think the any competitive genre naturally creates a lot of rage. Too many people expect to play for a few days and expect to be able to make top 8 at a major. It's rough but they're just something you have to stick with and realize progress is slow. Been playing for eight months now and I still am shit, only at gold in SFV.

Tried sfv during the free weekend. While it was fun and I can definitely see why people enjoy it, it's just not really my kind of game.
That being said I'd love to try a sf with an arcade stick since that sounds like a match made in heaven, just wish they weren't so expensive.
On a related note, are the cheaper (like $60 ones) any good? Or should I just theoretically save up for one of the big $100 ones?

Fighting games suck because I dont like them.

Boom, I win argument by default because any replies beyond this will be people shitposting trying get my (You)'s and I will have left this thread so no replies will be from me

They are only fun when played competitively, and some people aren't into that.

It's from the beta / loc tests

Smash 4 is not a fighting game.

Unless you barely play it, you might have brain damage if you can't get past gold in Jive.

Arcade stick doesn't matter, many top players play with pad. It won't make you better and it won't make special moves or whatever easier.

Not interested

I switched from pad to stick. It’s true it won’t make you a better player however execution wise it’ll be easier. And also play with stick feels nice. However, if you really want easy execution get a hitbox. Also, don’t get cheap ones. My first stick was an Etokki Omni and it’s amazing but it’s pricey. I would suggest you saving up for a Qanba Obsidian. Amazing for the price you pay. Don’t get Razer Panthera though, the build quality is very dubious.

I respect them, doesn't mean I have to enjoy them.

Not an argument against them.

Let me recap:
>what's your reason for not playing them?
>I'm not interested
>not an argument against them
Do you see how you're being retarded?

arthritis

they are typically boring games?

its a 1v1 game similar to starcraft.

Yes they are highly skilled and competitive. but that doesn't make it fun. same reason more people dont play chess

Even when I win I don't have that much fun playing them, I like games with fleshed out stories and character progression too much I guess

Soul Calibur is basically the only one that scratches that itch

If my adrenaline gets too high while I'm looking at a screen I start twitching uncontrollably, fighting games are the only genre I can't play without issues because I get too angry.

Not being interested is not an argument lmao.

Either give a legit reason why fighting games are bad or stfu

So it took you 16 minutes of trying to think of how to rebut somebody not being interested in something as a valid reason for not doing it, and this is what you came up with? There's nothing to argue, dumb-dumb. You wanted a reason for why people don't play fighting games. There's a reason. If you want to debate that, you're either autistic or trolling.

Too constrictive. They're the best shit ever when you're diving in, then you realize every game has the same style archetypes with hard-set right and wrong ways to play them. Then playing for the win screen is all that's left and that's time you could be spending actually beating games.

Maybe people simply don't like them and how they're based largely on guessing (mix ups)

They are repetitive

You don't get into a fighting game by learning solo.
You play with a better friend until you are equal or better and then you find an even better friend to play against.

They're not based on guessing, there's plenty of strategies involved.
They're not repetitive, every character is different and every game is different.

You guys have no good arguments

"Mix ups" is shitty game design, and that is always the ultimate destination of high level play in fighting games, because once you've mastered everything else the only way to get an edge on your opponent is making them guess and hoping they guess wrong.

Unlike fighting game players, I have friends so I play team games instead.

>op wants to argue with people
>is terrible at it, with favored arguments appearing to be "git gud," "no," and even "not an argument," when replying to someone who wasn't even trying to argue in the first place
lol

Doesn’t apply to Tekken though. You can straight up outplay your opponents by pure fundamentals and movement. An example of that player would be Arslan Ash.

>every character is different and every game is different.
No they aren't. The overwhelming majority of each character's moveset is pointless fluff or a highly situational utility. Every fight is the same shit of using a select few good opening pokes that lead into the same optimal offensive pressure and canned combo sequences, following up with an attack on wakeup if possible, then repeating.

Those strategies usually involve getting an opponent into the mix-up position. Getting a frame advantage or a knockdown so you can make the opponent have to guess. The mix-up is the goal and reward. One can say "avoid getting into a bad position", but it doesn't change the fact that the game revolves around a guessing mechanic.

Main argument is the amount of time you need repeating and practicing the same shit nigger. It's kind of autistic. I will play them casually but competitive is only viable if you live where there's actually other people playing them.

>Doesn’t apply to Tekken though.

lol neutral in tekken is purely based around mid/low guessing games with the worst feeling movement of all time

stop shilling tekken at every opportunity (everyone is actually sick of hearing it) and either go back to kappa, or start cutting yourself

Who here wants to get exposed in a fightcade game?

>ST
>hsf2
>a2
>a3
>vhunt
>breakers
>98
>2000
>02

No turd strike, vsav, or jojos, real games only.

>implying ST is remotely playable on fightcade
Turbo 1 and 3 second rollback just makes me mad anonymous, sorry.

every game is like that, they use t1 because the ancient 10yo build of final burn alpha they won't upgrade speeds up games since it randomly drops frames (lmao)

But I do play them. Every week my friends come over to play some BB and UNI.

Nope. That’s why there is sidestepping and fuzzy guarding. Also getting hit by lows won’t grant you a full combo you stupid fucking bigger. With proper KBD it’s rare you get by lows and even if you do, it does shit damage and thus it’s used as more of a keep away tool than an offensive tool. Shit for brains.
