Whoever that bitch is who composed the Dark Bowser theme in Bowser's Inside Story

Has this dude done literally ANYTHING of note other than the Halo theme?
Either Akira Yamaoka or David Wise
David Wise
shoji meguro
If you mean Yoko Shimomura, you are correct.
Yuzo Koshiro
Keiichi Okabe
Koji Kondo and Shoji Meguro. C418 is an honorable mention since his albums, Minecraft Alpha and Beta are kino

Robert Prince, if you count stealing other people's music
Kō Ōtani
Every other halo ost
Marathon
Myst
The good Destiny songs
I don't need to click it because I've played Danganronpa so I agree with you.
A little known fact is that he also did some of the best arrangements in Brawl:

I dunno any by names except for ZUN or Mick Gordon. TJ combo's theme is pure undistilled hype
youtube.com
and I enjoyed his work in Doom and in Wolfenstein. ZUN on the other hand is a longtime OG. Whoever did the theme for Traverse Town in KH and whoever did most of the music in Sonic games are pretty cool too.
Ellen Meijers Gabriel, who did the music for Oddworld Abe's Oddysee and Exoddus. It's highly atmospheric, varied, excellent music. You see a lot of people talk up Toby Fox for his talented application of Leitmotif, but Oddworld takes it straight to the bank with incidental tracks and circumstantial jigs layered on top of distinct and organic music.
If you like the Fallout 1 and 2 music, check out clean, extended rips of the Oddysee and Exoddus music

Koji Kondo and Nobuo Uematsu in their prime were untouchable.
Junichi Masuda wrote some brilliant battle music in his prime as well. Extremely underrated material.
The guy who really deserves credit for Killer Instinct is Robin Beanland, the guy who composed the original themes and did a bunch of music for Rare games in general.

He is very talented.
>Ayako Saso,
rarely does full OSTs but she did a ton of Street fighter EX1/2/3 songs and all the best FFTA songs

She did the bomberman hero OST which is fucking legendary especially this number
youtube.com
unironically
Stewart Copeland
youtube.com
Robyn Miller did Myst and Riven.
Wait, the director of the Pokemon games also does the music? That's impressive.
I wish I could find more games with an OST like Bomberman Hero. It's like this weird but glorious one-off, the composer pretty much didn't do anything else.
>They pay me for this
I always chuckle at this line
Yeah, his best work is from the first 4 gens imo, with this being my favourite
youtube.com
Yasunori Mitsuda, have you played Xenogears or Chrono Trigger? Well he made their ost's
Some of the sonic OSTs are the closest thing I can think of to Bomberman hero

I was a big fan of that period from the late 90s to early 00s where a ton of JP games had breakbeat and drum and bass OSTs.

Apologies, I meant Myth, not Myst.

The best and most underrated song from EoSD and perhaps the entire series is actually The Centennial Festival for Magical Girls.

I don't hate Flandre's theme, but it's a shame it gets so overrated when such a perfect song is right there in the stage leading up to it.
MICK. FUCKING. GORDON.

The person who made the Resident Evil 4 OST.
I haven't played Spyro, is the song he shows how he composed at ~2 minutes song from one of the games? If so, what is it?
Jake Kaufman and Yasunori Mitsuda are tied for first and literally no one even comes close.
FlybyNo/Arnaud Roy, he composed the music for all of the Endless series of games. In particular Endless Legend and Endless Space 2 are fucking incredible.
Endless Legend: youtube.com
Endless Space 2: youtube.com
I hate what he's done to the series, but god did he give us some great music
youtube.com
I miss Auriga, bros
Uematsu
Me too. I always feel sad when I find her in Endless Space 2.
Frankly Niantic did more damage to the series than Masuda ever did, because they normalized that people would be okay with a smaller roster of Pokemon, and now they are doing that in the main games. Every single misstep in the Pokemon series has been a result of genwunner pandering, and this is yet another example in a long chain of that.
It's weird, there's a million of these Endless games so clearly they sell well and yet this is the first time I have ever seen anyone talk about them. How are they so quietly popular? A ton of people seem to play them and yet they never draw any attention to it.
Masafumi Takada
This is a VERY close second. Sometimes number 1, depending on how I'm feeling.
Apparently someone else did the NMH2 soundtrack, which is honestly way better than the NMH1 soundtrack. Suda seems to like changing the composer every game.
They're kinda just sleepers in a way. They all go on sale or have free weekends fairly often and Endless Legend has (until recently) still been updated for a ridiculous amount of time, so I guess the series has just been quietly growing on its own. Then again you don't tend to see 4x games getting a whole lot of attention in general, unless somebody's trolling about the Civ games or something.
I do tend to post about the Endless games whenever I see a game music thread, though.
I like NMH2's soundtrack, but I prefer the first one. Dude's a master at rival battle themes.
The Nier guy and the Danganronpa guy
Takada wanted to work with his old boss mikami. That’s why he left grassphopper and went to tango games with mikami.
yes
>ctrl+f
>akira yamaoka
>no results
well fuck
>The Nier guy
Rintarou Okabe
>and the Danganronpa guy
Kiyomi Takada
What's the quintessential Akira Yamaoka kino? I've only heard him here and there in games he contributed a couple tracks to.
>Rintarou Okabe
El Psy Congaloo to you too.
see
SH2 is my favorite but everyone seems to like SH3 more. Its definitely more pop sounding. dont listen to those anons though, SH2 is better
4x games area already really niche and Civ has a stranglehold on the casuals
Either Okabe or Yamaoka. I enjoy Yamaoka's stuff more, but I'm more impressed by Okabe's compositions.
Masashi Hamauzu is too fucking good. I just love his style.
He did FF13’s OST and a lot of other stuff.
Oh yeah. FF13 has a great soundtrack. I love that boss theme.

BEST CHOCOBO THEME COMING THROUGH
Whoever did the music for DFO.
Michiru Yamane
Listen to the Alliance Alive
Andrew Sega, Dan Forden, Mark Morgan, Jesper Kyd, Sonic Mayhem, Frank Klepacki
i thought this was going to be that awful death metal chocobo remix, but i was pleasantly surprised
Keiichi Okabe.
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN RIDE THIS CHOCOBO
Nah, that one's actually from XIII-2.
Hiroki Kikuta. The Secret of Mana OST is remarkable.

That guy from Xenogears.

>no Yuki Kajiura
>literally OP's pic
You underages are pathetic.

There is always one autist
I imagine you probably know about this, but anyone who likes Hiroki Kikuta should check out Koudelka, the one game he got to direct and write. It didn't turn out the way he wanted it to but it's interesting to experience and it led to the Shadow Hearts series so I'm glad it exists.
It also has a weirdly small amount of music for a game made by a composer, but what's there is pretty good.

people already mentioned Yoko Shimomura.
People shit on Motoi Sakuraba but those faggots only heard his really underwhelming, phoned-in Tales music. He is really great elsewhere.
youtube.com
youtube.com
Yoko Shimomura's songs all sound the same
How is this video related to Tekken?
Wrong
youtube.com
(ignore the youtube shit, just listen to the samples of music she's done, they're all varied)
His Tales music is weird, like it sounds like it was made on a synthesizer or something. I'm not sure why they keep bringing him back when he clearly doesn't care.
He's got some serious range when he tries, though. Listening to his other stuff you'd never have guessed that he also did Dark Souls.
same guy who does tekken songs. these as well

He has really great range. Also I think his Golden Sun music is crap, around Tales-tier. So maybe smashfags also don't think high about him (despite his amazing remix of Baiten Kaitos)

Seriously, it's a shame he's linked to underwhelming Tales music. The guy is amazing and undersells his skills.
nobuyoshi suzuki
Shouldn't you link some of his, you know, Tekken music?
How did he do it? Nier Automata ost is fucking magical desu
no, man, it's cool
It's the Zone of the Enders chanting. All music is made better with Zone of the Enders chanting.
Akira & Shoji
/thread
These dudes actually are pretty sweet though I honestly doubt anyone else here knows who they are.
I wasn't aware that he also did remixes for brawl. shit, thanks user
Keichi okabe
he was also in 4 and Ultimate
I believe every artist in Brawl save for Uematsu returned for 4 and Ultimate
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
I like them both a lot for different reasons. 3's soundtrack is kind of accessible and direct in its themes, while 2 is totally spaced out and ethereal, like it's a sea of lost and confused emotions that occasionally finds temporary peace, and it's just amazing
youtube.com
this single song from SH4 is so good, it just convinced me to play the game for the first time. thank you user
raymans soundtrackis the best
I mean, outside of the opening I don't think Uematsu composed anything for Brawl
Fun fact, the singer is Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, best known as the voice actor of Motoko Kusanagi ("The Major") in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. She sings a lot of Silent Hill songs for some reason.
Hiroshi okubo is pretty damn good, especially his ridge racer and namco stuff
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
Jeremy SOUL
he was also in kid icarus uprising
>Best song overall
Shohei Tsuchiya, for The World of Spirit
youtube.com
>Best on average
Jun Ishikawa or Hirokazu_Ando. Not sure how much each one is responsible for the Kirby OSTs.
Is this the game that's a thousand dollars on Steam for some reason? I suppose I could just pirate it, but I've never seen such an expensive shmup, is it really content heavy or something?
I've never played it. The song is worth a thousand dollars but the game could never meet that standard.

This, Guild Wars was so comfy with that music
>Rintarou
Keiichi I think.
Tobby Fox
Garoad
His Guild Wars soundtrack is very underappreciated. Probably because a lot of people never actually played Guild Wars. Like it was certainly popular but only with the kind of people who play MMOs, which is ironic because it wasn't an MMO. And yeah I know it is labeled as one by some places, but that is an incorrect label. It's like, 8 players at a time maximum. That's hardly "massive." I'm given to understand they went ahead and just made GW2 an MMO but I never played it.
Anyway, this was my favorite song across all of the GW1 games.
youtube.com
Guild Wars Nightfall did a cool Africa-themed setting long before Black Panther made it mainstream.
He also scored a lot of Suda 51's works. Great stuff.

Would also consider Uematsu for his previous work, especially on FFIX. Also the combo of ACE/Hiramatsu/Kiyota/Mitsuda for Xenoblade 1 & 2. Shimomura for KH. David Wise and Grant Kirkhope on the western front.
Splatoon needs more track like this. Hot damn I'm so fucking HYPED when a match starts with this.
Not the insectoid in your picture.
didn't they compose for Symphogear?
It does? I've literally never seen it posted.
Factions is kind of unfortunate, the music is good but the implementation was questionable. You hear the Kaineng City theme for an enormous chunk of the game and you get tired of it even though it's a beautiful composition.
What's wrong with his face?
I like FFIX's final boss theme. So many final bosses go the same way with this overly grandiose piece but FFIX is all WEEDLE DEEDLE, DEEDLE DEEDLE DEEDLE and it's great.
