Anybody play this game?

looks interesting. Vampires are always cool

I actually don't think anyone has played it.

I did. It's not very good.

It's a good talking-exploration type game. Combat is wonky though.

it's bad

Did you though? I bet you can't remember a SINGLE fucking thing from the game.

It's got vampires

I did, but you're right, i can't, because the game is forgettable as fuck.

Now that you've reminded me, I was kind of interested in this game but literally didn't hear anything when it came out
Guess it kinda sucked?

its starts nicely and is enjoyable, but gets kinda meh mid-game
the choices and the ending have real consequences too so its a plus

I remember fighting some giant dapper vampire lad in a sewer

>can't save at any time
Why do developers do this?

See, that sounds like fun, but it seems like the game was just "eh" which is a shame.

DARK is a better vampire game and is far less well-known. Vampyr tries to be melee dark souls vampire mass effect, but it's got boring combat and fails to make you care about the world that it creates by being so bland. I can't say much else because I ran into a game-breaking bug partway through.
The night to night progression system is used to progress the sickness of people you don't heal. If you could save at any time, then you could just save scum until you cure everyone of their illnesses. Vampyr is trying to give a "people must be sacrificed" theme, so it punishes that. Which kinda sucks because you get the neutral ending if you kill anyone. I think it's about time that games throw out the 2/3 ending moral "choice" system. They need to accept that sometimes making the "bad" choice is sometimes actually the right one. A couple people in vampyr deserve nothing less than an early grave, and giving you the neutral ending for that is bullshit. The limits on what gives a good ending, if there is a "good end" at all, need more leeway.

I think there was something in the second section of the game where there was some nurse healing people using some bad shit but it was for good so I was gonna choose some option I think to spare her but my nigga instead fucking eats her dead I don't remember what the option said but it was incredibly unclear and that zone became a shithole and it basically ruined it for me

Also I ate and killed the gays

This was an interesting game. It did things really well like atmosphere and npc depth that i havent seen in many games - All npcs have a defined character that make them stand out from the others. But then then theres combat. Its pretty meh, but not the worst ive seen. It reminds me of the first witcher game

>it was incredibly unclear
kind of like LA Noire that way

Not great. I can commend them for committing to npc death being a big deal, but combat is pretty boring, plus the difficulty is kinda fucked. They make it seem like eating people makes the game easier, but it also spawn stronger monsters, so youre fucked either way

It's like 70% talking and 30% exploring and combat.

I tried to do a good boy run but I gave up halfway through. I guess I was bored. I heard being evil is way more enjoyable in this game from another user.

I hope you like fighting the sewer beast boss on every street

>read user's comparison
>choose Truth
>LA Noire says I'm wrong
>because it was only mostly unclear

>Melee dark souls vampire mass effect
What did user mean by this?

I played it, it's not bad. Not great either, it was an alright use of my time.

oh yeah, that thing was annoying
I died a lot to that actually.

Running through each descriptor, I initially wrote melee vampire mass effect. When I put in dark souls in the description, melee became an artifact I forgot to delete. It thinks it's dark souls because it's trying to do a dodge through, parry, hit, special attack system (more like a bloodborne wannabe, now that I think about it), but the combat is just boring and dull, unlike From Software's genius. Vampire is included because it's got a vampire storyline and themes (in the first edition, I only wrote "vampire Mass Effect"). Mass Effect because the game thinks that it's created this huge immersive story-driven world, even though the story, like the combat, is dull and falls short of its inspiration.

I'd say it's a solid 7/10. If you like arpgs and vampires it's 100% worth your time.

Story, characters and lore are good. The npc system with the hints, sickness, the blood quality and the choice of drink them or not it's also pretty good. The combat is alright, eurojank souls. Overall a solid game.

I like the setting a lot. I also liked the gameplay mechanic of having to juggle between saving all the NPCs by forsaking the opportunity to get even stronger. Levelling up is handled interestingly but can be a chore to some. It's an alright game that I think is worth a play through as at least tries to do some things different and nothing about is truly terrible.

It was made by DONTNOD, fuck else do you need to know? If your asscrack itches that hard, just pirate it.

To be fair, it' not the same DONTNOD team that made LiS. To the best of my knowledge, they're entirely separate divisions that have a minimum of contact with each other. I think this is the team that did Remember Me, as opposed to LiS.
