Sure it only takes 5-6 hours but it's 5-6 hours of concentrated fun. Everything is very tightly designed and the gameplay elements synergize with each other extremely well.

I think it's a good progression. You start off with simple bosses like Meiling and then you get to genuinely challenging bosses like Reimu at the end.

But yes, I do agree that there should have been more hard bosses like Reimu. This game could use a Hard mode that gives all bosses new moves and phases.

I beat most of the bosses on my first try. Reimu is REALLY easy once you figure out you can graze the first move of the second part for a ton of health and you can burst down her first form before she can even attack. I think the attacks of all the bosses need to do more damage and thousand knife needs to be nerfed. There's no point using anything else.

Honestly the game does such a good job with visual and sound cues that at one point you don't need to pay much attention to the side HUD and it just becomes ADHD eye-candy.
