Meh, Hayter is iconic and did a phenomenal job in MGS1. 2 & 3 he did satisfactory, everything else after that was absolute garbage. Sutherland not only provided an incredibly handsome facial structure for mocap, but also provided acting that personifed the un-personafiable. His acting is unironically so nondescript, so void of character, so empty of any discernable traits, and so bleak that it was the absolute most perfect piece for the story and experience Kojima created.

I would be incredibly happy if they let Sutherland play Snake in the movie, or reprised him in the future in anyway but we all know it wont be him. If Konami makes more games Hayter will take the work. The movie will likely choose an affordable, promising, up and coming star.

I think they got rid of Hayter because they didn't want people to figure out that the guy who helped you in the hospital was the real Big Boss or something. Can't remember if he had the same voice as Venom Snake though. But its probably more than likely they just don't care about Hayter. Which is odd because Japan can be a bit autistic over voice acting. Phil didn't get a line in KH3 because they didn't want to replace his japanese voice actor after he died.
