tcl

these are the most blatant roadblock enemies in vidya. they may as well put up a sign that says "dont go this way"

>shoot
>the

They did. There are both caution signs and Victor spawns to warn you to NOT GO THIS WAY.

Cringe.

They literally do.

You should have plenty of antivenoms from killing legionaries by the time you encounter non-roadblock cazadores

>open world game
>go anywhere except the designated route and get destroyed by everything
I love new Vegas but this was bullshit

The north highway through the Deathclaws was pretty easy to get through though.

>kill joe cobb and pick the safe in the schoolhouse for 2 stealth boys
>run past quarry junction and black mountain
>yey you done it

>wanting a game where you can run to the end instantly

You know there is a middle ground between I want to explore and fucking skyrim

There's a lot of retarded complaints against NV, but this one is actually legit. Every playthrough starts the same way of doing the Nipton > Novac loop. and yeah """"technically""""" you can jug the wall or use stealthboy to get past the deathclaws, but they should have made the map more open from the start.

Ey, thinking of replaying it and I just found out about this modding guide: vivanewvegas.github.io/

Is it any good? Anyone here tried it out?

>people don't play with realistic damage mods
Surprisingly these things die after one shot from my 12 guage hunting shotgun or my 45-70 Gvt revolver, crazy.

It's a good guide and easy to follow, but installing absolutely everything on the "high" version is overkill and unless you're an experienced modder you'll probably break something.

why is technically in a billion quotations?
why the fuck do you think they intentionally give you 2 stealth boys in the first town, so you can sneak into the bison steve easier?

no idiot, it's so you can break the loop when you're experienced at the game and go north without spending 4 hours plodding down the road to novac

I assume it'll also completely decimate performance even if your rig should be able to handle it?

no, you naive idiot. They obviously balanced the game around the character going the nipton route. Every fucking npc tells you to take the nipton route.

>they may as well put up a sign that says "dont go this way"
pretty good bait

What's your anti-cazador weapon? I think semi autos are too jank and unreliable for cazadors and deathclaws without turbo or GRX, so I use the 12.7mm SMG.

yes, the npcs tell you that assuming you are playing the game for the first time. they also say you CAN go north but its a lot tougher

its up to you, the player, to make a choice: do i grind down the long ass road for the 20th time or do i run north, gamble and buy good guns to skip the newbie railroad?

>He didn't install a mod that enables DLC weapons to spawn in the world and then use the flare gun he found in a first aid box to dab on cazador and deathclaw niggers and run the whole way to Vegas and also get the Chance's knife from his grave he found by retracing the steps of benny and gang from the graphic novel

People mention I-15 often with sneaking past the deathclaws
The one I discovered recently too is you can go to Hidden Valley, go in one of the rocky back paths, pop Med-X and run for your life by way of Scorpion Gulch and you'll end up by the Poseidon Plant
If you run up to the NCR soldiers, they should hopefully take care of any radscorpions on your tail, and even if not, you're still right by Novac and can just hoof it from there
So that's two ways of getting around the long path right there, discounting the northwestern cazador road which I don't recommend

Play the guitar, play it again, my Johnny
Maybe you're cold but you're so warm inside

oh fuck

>just do these very specific things and you'll get through
>*have to play multiple play throughs to know that*
You guys are fucking weird sometimes, you know that?

It's not impossible to do so why are you complaining? I managed to reach Vegas without a stealthboy by just abusing geography so deathclaws don't slamfuck me on the highway.

What pisses me of about them that they have the design of some shitty low level minion, so I kept wondering why I get murdered by some flys.
I legitimately thought that it was because of some weird bug or an oversight in balancing.
To this day I have to mentally fight the dissonance between their design and how hard they are meant to be.

it's not remotely impressive if it's on anything after your first play through/researching the game. You know the consequences and outcomes of every decision.

Hey.
Fuck you.

just get some dynamite and camp above the tribal village.

did i ever indicate that the stealthboy route was for people who literally just finished installing the game and booted it up for the first time? no, its for *experienced* people who dont want to watch scripted npcs shoot each other for the nth time

also shooting joe cobb and opening one of the two safes in town isn't exactly a niche strategy that requires expert knowledge to pull off, you're just being willfully dense

nah, just cut through black mountain. There's maybe two or three super mutants, you can fairly easily sneak through and be in vegas before you know it.

>*have to play multiple play throughs to know that*
>bitching about playing a game with multiple endings multiple times
Holy shit are you retarded.

also being retarded enough to not notice the devs gave new players a safe "handholding" path to cut your teeth with, introducing new zones and getting quests, pacing the game. This is perfect to start the game with.
Experienced players can try brave the dangers of the more "optimal" roads.
Peak game design right there, and retards keep arguing in circles about it

it's designed that way because the developers want you to get to know each faction before you get to Vegas where you'll eventually have to decide which one you'll want to side with, all the key locations are placed so that you really can't miss them since the story plays a bigger role in new Vegas in comparison to fallout 3.
Sure these two games might look very similar because they share the same engine, but they are designed in very different ways, and neither is better or worse.
Fallout 3, from what I can remember, just lets you go in any direction and has much more interesting side stuff to do, and they just let you kill anything at lvl 1 because otherwise it would limit player freedom.
NV has more in common with gothic, where more powerful mobs are placed in specific locations to nod the player in the right direction without outright restricting them (so that veteran players can still bypass it).
It's not executed perfectly in NV of course since the whole center of the map is just mountains, but you are meant to follow the big road

came hear to post this

You can get past them if you get the stealth boy from Joe cobb's body.
