The original game is overrated, it's essentially just a tech demo that looked cool, and even for the kind of game it was it was super short. Lammy & PaRappa 2 are the good ones with more stages, more content, more involved and fun stories, and just plain better music.

Just filled it with the typical Tumblr awfulness, you know the kind of stuff you see with Steven Universe and such. No real controversies or anything, the "worst" thing was some Lammy x Katy shipper emailing Rodney about the ship and Rodney going "Yeah that's a great idea I'd love to do that if we ever make another one" in response. Which doesn't bother me all that much, but I doubt the thought would've ever crossed his mind if not for that person.
Though admittedly prior to 2013 there wasn't really a Parappa fandom at all, just people who liked the series. So I guess we should instead blame Tumblr for being the one to spawn this fandom.
