It seems like a debug feature that wasn't removed. It counts up with the timer, and also with certain amount of space you move to the right. If you stand next to the boss door and left the timer count down to 20 seconds remaining it reaches 400, and nothing happens. Letting time run out still kills you.

Yeah, I think it might be the old timer that is based on the train track. It moves automatically up as the train goes on and since you move up the train it also goes up so once the track ends and you're on the "beginning" (can't think of a good word) of the train it should be 400.

Compare the new UI to the old one. The colors were clerly differentiated and the size also helped read it better. Red and purple are hard to tell apart if purple is as warm as the one used in the new UI. Readability is essential in an action game.

Well, you will want to max out your Shortcut and Silver Knight shards.

Go to the lab after the train section. It's in the blue chests. They'll respawn when you leave the area via the red door.

that shit is easy. just warp to the lab area after the train, open the blue chests, leave, and repeat.

You can buy a food item that uses black pepper and dismantle it, easier than trying to actually find it even if it's expensive.

This is by far one of the easiest items from blue chests to farm.

Is there a particular weapon (NOT A SHARD) that you particularly love? The Adrasteia is fucking wonderful with that infinite ammo hat, hands down the best gun I've ever used in a IGA game (not like there was much of a contest).

The dark/light whip is pretty cool too but I haven't upgraded it to its max yet.

I can't help loving the Sculptor's Chisel, at least outside of boss fights. That thing petrifies like a motherfucker, one-shotting things left and right that should take multiple hits, and it's just so damn satisfying. Not entirely sure why I like it more than the stone greatsword but I do.

I can't think of any thunder elementals that are particularly convenient to farm (one that I used for Resist Thunder grades had mediocre proximity to a door at best), and doing laps through the Towers farming blue chests for them feels obnoxious even if you're in endgame/ NG+ with Accelerator.

And then I realized hours after emeralds became irrelevant to me that I could've just bought like thirty thunder rings from the shop and alkahested them all.

I like Redbeast's Edge. I think it's glitched since the base version has the same attack as the upgraded 8-bit nightmare version. Using Thousand Blossoms with it can shred bosses.

Around 3-4 hours I assume, maybe even less if you can pull every trick perfectly.
I haven't done it myself but my guess is that with infinite jumps you should go to Oriental lab to get the Pickpocket and Augment LCK shards earlier, grab the Zangetsuto, go to Den of Behemoths and obtain Accelerator. After that everything should flow as usual and the item farming will be done way faster since you'll be doing craft-dismantle loops with Alchemic Bounty.

its not bugged its just that its attack scales with how many shards you have. otherwise it has no base damage upgraded or not. so all levels of it are the same if you have all shards. incidentally, its also the same damage as the 'strongest' rapier if you have all shards.

Would it be considered bullshit to open boss fights with Poison Kukri, pause-swap to the Joyeuse and abuse Blood Drain, or is it not considered cheese to actively plan to swap weapons like that? Seems a little cheap considering the game completely pauses for weapon swapping so I feel weird about it.

there's really not even any passive shards worth using besides it. healing is trash, you can just have one shortcut for the big hand. The whole passive shard button should have just been a "run faster" button if they were going to give us nothing but some trash shards to use for it.

Someone asked for a way to get gold, follow the path on the map and grab the chests, gold has a low chance to spawn in any of the blue/white chests. Leave the area either by making your way to the entrance or warp out with the warp point, rinse and repeat.

it becomes a skill shard (the white ones you turn on and off) so that it becomes a permanent boost instead of having to equip it.

Don't have to equip it to get the effects, and you can double the effects by equipping the shard with it.

Upgrading a passive (yellow) to an active (white) means you don't need to equip that shard for it to work, or you can stack the passive AND the active and both will work.

This game was too easy after my first playthrough, so I came up with a self-imposed challenge run.

>No backtracking unless required for progression

>When you get a new shard, weapon, or piece of equipment, equip it immediately

>The only other time you can change shards/equipment is when it's required for progression

The game now feels like a Classicvania, but it's definitely going to take a few sessions to beat Zangetsu, since I'm stuck at LV 12 with Summon Gieremund, Petra Ray, Morgenstern, and Scale Armor.

How do I make money pre-bloodless fight? I cant access augment LCK yet

in all honesty, shortcuts annoyed me because they weren't "hold shortcut button and just press a direction to instant swap". If it had been like that, I'd have actually used them, but having to do that and then confirm it anyway? I just opened the menu to change weapons instead.

During the second phase of the fight she uses a blood rain / blood tornado attack. Walk to one of the alcoves at the sides of the room and stay there for the duration of the attack; neither the attacks or those fucking annoying umbrellas won't touch you.

Force Blast is slow and only slightly invulnerable, Power Slash is full trash.
Parry isn't even equally as good as Eleventh Hour because it has long ass recovery frames rather than giving you an entire second of mobile invincibility you get from landing Eleventh Hour.
Sansetsuzan is very fast, very strong and very invulnerable, Crimson Blizzard hits twice at close range and can be spammed very quickly, and Jinrai is a get out of jail free card as well as straight up broken if you've got the mana to spam it

The only comparable sword technique is Valkyrie Sword's secret move. Now that's some good shit.

You can only carry 9 potion, 4 High Potion et 3 Full potion at a time

You can do the same thing with fire Mortes in Lavaland if you like that more, for the gold in Flame Mail.

Remember, you only need ONE gold. Get that gold from Ayamur or Flame Mail, rip apart that gold for dark matter, then rip that dark matter apart too. Recombine them all with the mats you made by ripping them apart and now Dominique will sell both gold and dark matter for gold (coins.) Farming coins is way easier than the gold crafting item, and you should use that early gold to turn Augment LCK (from Deathtrap mimics) into Augment Gold, rushing it to Rank 9 ASAP so you can start generating passive gold for simply existing and occasionally nudging a lamp on accident with Detective Eye on passive as a skill shard.

By endgame with a full suite of movement abilities and all that, you can make about 40k gold a minute (maybe every two minutes if you get unlucky with coin bag drops), and Dominique sells gold at like 15k a piece, so it's crazy easy to get by just rushing through rooms and ramming into lamps for 100g-2,000g a pop.

Once you have Augment Gold ranked up a lot you can focus on finishing the ranks of Alchmeic Bounty if you want, and you can abuse the shit out of that to fill out the item index crazy quick.

Farm some coins for ten minutes, go to Dominique, buy some Thunder Rings (or just a Ring), then go rip those rings apart for emeralds (might need to craft Thunder Ring first if the player hasn't already, so that Dominique will sell them in turn.)

As far as I understood, Alfred understands way more than Johannes because he was directly involved in working on crystal-embedded subjects and the demon summoning itself, so it makes sense for him to know how to reverse summonings (even castle-scale ones) than Johannes, who was disgusted with that crap and washed his hands of it when he found out what Alfred was doing with his alchemist buddies, even if Alfred did regret it later and turn on his own mentor.

How are you normally supposed to get to the oriental sorcery lab? Because I honestly just damage boosted my way in there after utterly exhausting all my other options save for fighting Gebel (which i did also try).
The only thing I could think of that might've had the answer was a green chest with spikes above it in the twin clock towers that I couldn't find a way to get to.

Get the Aegis Armor with invert on the side of the Twin Dragon Towers, it's one of the only couple of moments in the game that are too obtuse.

Igavania wasn't allowed to co-exist with Lords of Shadow, which Kojima was heavily involved with.

I just figured out what might be choking this game on the Switch. The black lines lines on models aren't a shader effect they are actually a second model slightly enlarged with inward facing black polygons. So every model actually has doubled geometry, one model for the visible polygons and a second one that creates the lines. The camera sees through the outside of this "line" model and only renders the inside, and most of it gets obscured by the character model so it's only visible along edges. If you zoom in close on Miriam's hair you can see this plainly.

Did you take advantage of backstep canceling, the moon and speed belts, and the movement tomes from the library? It's nowhere near the level of accelerator, but you can greatly speed things up with backstep and mixing some of the above in.

I died like 6 times to him, but I am entirely to blame for all those deaths. I realized that it was going like:

Depends on who you are fighting. A strong gun with diamond bullets and the recycle hat is gonna make a lot of fights really stupid.
In general I prefer the Oracle Blade because it's both more interesting and provides more distance.

Whatever gets you the highest luck I'd imagine, although you can technically get more drops (not shards) with the Pickpocket shard, but I dunno how often it actually activates at 9/9.

Rhava Velar is high tier but Rene's Requium (or Adrasreia if it's something that moves around a lot or stands out of the normal firing height of a gun) with diamond bullets + recyle hat is god tier. It's not even as good as Oracle Blade or Deathbringer depending on what you are fighting.

That seems incredibly wasteful, but it would explain a lot. The game chugs to an almost halt during the Millionaire bossfight whenever the chips are out even on PS4.

Accelerator is just for filling out the mao and shit, to make backtracking and farming bearable. I completely disgree with you, because the second you get accelerator is the second you never equip anything else to that slot again, which ruins the point if the game if you still have a significant amount of game left.

I mean, there are rings that boost drop rates for items (and gold from enemies), but I dunno if they ACTUALLY do or if it's just a weird way to say "they boost your luck", because I could kinda see it being the latter.

Double equip on passive shards always gives double effect so why would you think they wouldn't be rarer with 1x gold aug?
