There are two well hidden secrets inspired by the secrets you might find in old NES games. You will know you found it if you find something that will make the already somewhat simple level a bit easier. I don't think anyone will find them but I like to think someday some exploratory player might be rewarded.

The game needs a "no jumping" clear condition. That one that doesn't let you land after jumping is more suited for levels where you bounce/fly to the end. I want to make Captain Toad levels, but losing after accidentally dropping of some tiny ledge kills the idea for me, it is so annoying.

Rolling in 3D World is so disappointing. It isn't fun to use it as a movement options because it kills momentum. I'm trying to make a level around it, but the only things I came up with so far it rolling to activate on/off switches and pow blocks stuck in one tile gaps, rolling under enemies, and rolling of a ledge to bounce on an enemy while crouching to avoid some low-ceiling threats. I feel like I can't really develop on any of those ideas.
The best I think I could do is making a level based on avoiding enemies by rolling, but I don't think halting all the momentum you have all the time is fun.

Bit Crusade 3 is the sequel to the two full games (1-1 to 8-4) I created within Mario Maker 1, reminiscent of traditional Mario levels, and (eventually) utilizing all 5 game styles. Meant to be played in sequence as an adventure game, starting at the 1-1. There's secrets to find, alternative pathways and other goodies as well. Try to find all 5 Power Pepperonis hidden in each stage to access the super secret bonus room at the end of each level.

A jungle level that can be beat in many ways. It has ton of secrets and shortcuts, and is fun to speed run.

While the level itself is relatively easy, I've hidden a room that is extremely hard to find. 3 golden letters and a number of precious gems are hidden in it. Am I the only one that'd like to see the P-Balloon actually implemented in the SMW style? Why didn't they add it in either Mario Maker games?

I'm using Meko 2nd gen disc stylus and it works perfectly. Don't use it without a glass tempered screen protector though because it'll scratch your screen. It does have a mesh tip on the opposite end too which glides smoothly across the screen.

Good level. I think it is possible for the player to die if they accidentally toss the shell near the reset door but I did not test this.

Were there any elements in particular you remember that were out of place? I am asking so I can figure out what to avoid next time. I am always worried about delving into enemy spam... but yeah that was definitely one of my easier levels... I am trying to avoid making levels too difficult because those don't seem to be received too well. My most difficult level is probably the one people liked the least. My most liked level is one where I really think I hit a normal level of difficulty.

Nothing among these really bothered me, it's more like the level is missing a bit of cohesion
Like you finished building your level as you wanted it to be but then wanted it to be longer so you tacked on some random stuff as extra
Maybe for your next level try to finish the level then instead of uploading right away go back into it and polish the thing a bit more
Maybe even take a break from playing for an hour so and then go back and see if you really like what you did

Perhaps they did not know that you could bail from the shell to gain height or perhaps they slipped.
I didn't test it but there may be a softlock in Spicy Desert if you break the blocks at the top with the spiky Shelmet and jump above the semi-solid platform

Then I realized it was possible for the player to lose them and rather than have a reset door I just decided to place an invisible block. My suggestion would be to incorporate gentler slopes with your steep slopes so that way you still get the verticality but you can sled for longer. Taller steep slopes are great for later in the level and for bonus areas.

That image just reminds me that Smash stage making was fun as hell especially making lewd stages. But MM2 has basically replaced that for me (the creative level making aspect that is).

I also have a course called Vine Time (NXL-T1S-JLG) so I checked out yours and it's pretty good! Completely different than mine though. Great sense of aesthetics. My only complaint is that sometimes the spike blocks can be hard to see in the vines.

Right that makes sense. I went back later on to add semi solids to add atmosphere, but I was afraid to change gameplay elements. I will definitely re evaluate that in the future. I wanted the note blocks so people could bounce to a slope and immediately slide on it. I agree that the chain chomp and wiggler definitely seem tacked on though.

It's a metroidvania-ish course that's intimidatingly large but not as long to play through as it may seem. I really need feedback on this as it was highly experimental and took forever to piece together as it's filled with interconnected paths as optional routes.

Don't forget magikoopas that make blocks into all sorts of items. I enjoy that kind of RNG though.

Cute, but the part after the first checkpoint with the springs went on for a little too long and the boss felt unnecessary.
I ran out of time at the springs after the skipsqueak got stuck between the blocks at the top with the thwomp, and I can't imagine I'd have enough time for the rest of the level even if it hadn't. Otherwise very nice.

The crane section is horseshit. It's virtually impossible without the spiny shell helmet, and the next section made me quit because I didn't want to take another 10 lives trying to pass the cranes again just to get mauled by the enemy spam from the pipes.
I feel like the difficulty spiked very quickly upon the crane section, everything before that felt great, a few deaths but nothing frustrating.

A bit wonky at parts. If I were you I'd have put the checkpoint closer to a koopa car. Like, in the direct path forward, rather than out of the way to the left. Also, I don't know if this was intentional on your part, but you can reach the goal without a car via a long jump over the final plant.

Okay, for starters in the red coin area, you need to mark the drop after the 2nd coin with an arrow, it just looks like a death pit.

Lotta interesting mechanics here, my least favorite things in all of Mario Maker are karts and coin collecting, but I'm somehow not completely offended.

I added an arrow and a koopa car that you fall on immediately if you start from the checkpoint.

I changed the piranha plant section to be three pinks instead of having two blues, so you should be able to jump between the middle now

You don't actually need the coins to win, it's just for the 30 and 50 coin at the end!

I have a single section of my stage where you have to bounce of two bob-ombs. These enemies are used multiple times through the stage, both in platforming but mostly on puzzles. They also fit nicely with the 3D World toy theme I'm using. As a bonus, they reveal a secret after exploding if you don't run past the jump.
However, in this single jump, using bob-ombs is slightly janky because I need to hold them in place with bricks, so if the player rushes a little the timing for his jump, he may land on the holding brick instead of getting satisfactory bounces two times in a row. If I used a Piranha Creeper, the bounces would be guaranteed pretty much 100% of the time (unless the player clearly fucks up, of course). The problem is, I never used those enemies before in the stage, they don't match with the theme and the secret stops making sense.
Which one of the two would you go for?

Pretty standard normal difficulty level. Moles and fish bones in a oil themed level. Platforming/water level.

Tricky jumps, windy section, and slippery section. I’d advise taking your time with this one. I tried to emulate climbing a mountain. I’d say medium-hard difficulty on this one.

Sorry man, I tried my best but I just cant do it, the cars so wonky to control for platforming and that checkpoint thats attached to the ceiling is in a pretty bad spot, and it leaves you right by those spiked moles unless you backtrack all the way to where the koopa car is. Too tedious but I feel like you could have a decent stage here with some more refinement. Left you a like, I'll try some more of your stages before I move on.

think of it this way, people grinding the leaderboard in super expert get a level to relax in

super expert is 0-2.5%. Noone plays expert, hence why you dont want a 3-10% clear ratio

Much appreciated. Didn’t mean to come off as a prick with the whole softlock thing. Bombs are a much better idea than the solo shell, at the same time it seems like a fairly obvious thing to do and taking the extra 5 seconds to respawn may matter to some enough to drop it.

Gave up on endless easy cause fuck that, started on Normal endless. 32 stages in and I'm already in the top 20,000, sheesh. Also you guys know what really fuckin sucks about endless mode? It only briefly gives you the code to the level before you start, not after you finish a level that might actually be really good. So if you don't take a screenshot with your Switch at the start that level's pretty much lost in the abyss forever. So better safe than sorry, take a screenshot.

It’s barely even a puzzle: use the doors to reset the vines. Hit one of the yellow blocks from underneath and climb up. Try to bare in mind you are in a ghost house

A short night-time haunted house stage that features some easy puzzles and platforming segments.
Mostly to test out the course elements, as it's one of my first stages, but a play or a like to get it off the ground would be appreciated.

It was a good puzzle user, and I'm fairly confident that he didnt actually boo the stage. The only worry I had was that the chain chomp right after the vine part can attack you while youre rushing through the icicle you just dropped which was a little cheap - but no stage can be perfect and the concept of the stage is just too cute to hold that slight flaw against you.

Cleared the rest of your stages, Overgrown Mushroom Cloudtops is Kino and Bowser's Sky Thwomp Fortress is probably your best one yet. Great use of the spike helms to keep the thwomps from hitting the switches.

I would be, I was here for that and I remember playing that exact stage too. Could be a neat thing to do again.

I figured it out, but man, the part right before that was a drag waiting for the chain chomps and the bullets to line up so I could just damage boost through the ghosts. Once I figured it out I realized I'd have to either jump back up that single open space from the vines, or kill myself and try it again, and I'd STILL have to do that single block jump. Why not just put the reset door down at the dead end?

Pretty fun. Although the stage does look a little cluttered, it's quite tense and exciting.

Finished it, that Bowser-shell cycle was killing me inside but good concept, really liked the level

The physics are actually identical between the themes in super mario maker, and they chose NSMBU as the baseline since it is somewhere in the middle between SMW and SMB3.
SMW was the one with the strongest traction of the main games, which is probably what you're experiencing

Started off really good, you did a great job introducing everything and there were some really cool ideas. The jump in difficulty after the checkpoint is way too huge, though. You gotta think if someone in endless sees this level they are going to bail. Everything after the checkpoint needs to be toned now. Not going to lie, took me awhile to remember that vine blocks can be activated from bboth sides since I don't play puzzle maps regularly, probably would of figured it out a lot quicker if I wasn't dealing with the boo and dealing with jumping around on vines a the bottom with a death pit below me for literally no reason and I don't know what the fuck you were thinking adding winged boos to that part where you ice the chomps.

Damn takes me like three hours even if I have a good idea, though my levels can get kinda long some times.

Maybe an hour or two. My latest one took me around 3-4, a lot of it was playtesting to prevent softlocks/shortcuts

That one level I made that turned out to be really good and liked by lots of people: 15 minutes

You lose a single maker point for every boo. It's pretty easy to tell when it happens shortly after you get a play notification. I've already posted it in this thread, but thanks.

MAN I wish this game had replays, and that I could tell who booed a level. It'd be super helpful to be able to watch the replay and figure out what fucked them up.
