How is this false? If you have an unpatched switch there is literally absolutely nothing they can do about it. If you're too much of a dum dum to check the serial number before buying (like every tutorial on the net tells you to do) then you've only got yourself to blame.

Yes. The SD card is needed to load games onto your external drive.
It's extra annoying since putting homebrew on the vWii only supports SD cards that are 2GB or less, so you need 2 SD cards and constantly need to swap between the two.
