I wonder if venting these kind of violent fantasies in video games allows for a safe outlet for disturbing incel inclinations, or if it makes it worse.
I remember a study where researchers put people with anger issues in a room with a bunch of pillows, and gave them a stick, aubjected them to actions and statements that would specifically target their insecurities and then told them to vent their anger by whacking the pillows, they did this for a year or so.
At the end of the study, they found that their anger problems got worse, not better.
I wonder how it works for certain "tendencies" of certain people here on Yea Forums.
Does letting them kill women in vidya help them hate women less IRL, because they get it out of their system?
Or is it just fueling their dark desires long term?
I'd love to do a study on this.

I'm a gore fiend. Video games with good gore are like crack to me, and most games genuinely don't have any gore aside from blood. If I'm playing a violent game I want to see violence.
Not to say I would ever kill a man in cold blood to watch him bleed, but video games are a good stress reliever. A shadenfreudian esque experience where I can genuinely say "at least I'm not that guy."

It all depends on the framing I think. I remember another similar study where people were told to play an open world game about camping/survival I think and while some were told to play the game normally, others were told to seek out NPCs and brutally murder them for their resources. The ones that did the murdering ended up becoming MORE sympathetic and less prone to violence later because they felt bad about killing the NPCs.

In deus ex hr the civilians dont run away when you shoot at them, they just cower in place. After killing the cops you can just kill them all with no penalty.
