Why is Epic so based? This means way more money going towards making games whereas the status quo seems to be that Valve spend their 30% on PR companies to defend their platform online.
I know lots of gamers are entitled and self-absorbed, so it's going to take a while for them to understand that money which goes back to publishers and developers instead of going down some black hole (to a company that doesn't even make games) is a VERY good thing for consumers. The sooner everyone adopts EGS the better though, I'm not quite at the point where no EGS = no buy, but I'm almost there, just on the principle of the whole thing
Your forceful shill threads do nothing other than sowing annoyance.
Anthony Kelly
This might mean something if people actually used the Epic store.
Isaac Carter
Sounds like trickle down economics to me
Joshua Adams
$1 has been deposited into your Steam Wallet.
If you can't say anything of merit, or address my post, then you are a joke
Ryan Nelson
Sorry, going to keep pirating
Chase Smith
My wallet is not a charity case for developers, EGS provides nothing for me as a consumer over Steam.
Christopher Powell
Why don't you just pirate if you don't care about the industry?
Angel Williams
Good service is good for customers, you chink shill and Epic has none of it, now fuck off.
Jace Walker
Excuse me, but why would I care how much developers make? Have you seen the quality of AAA games despite making billions? Money does not equate to quality.
Christopher Edwards
No one wants to use your featureless store, Tim
Jose Howard
Fpbp
Joseph Collins
That's why he pirates in the first place?
Gabriel Cox
Ok lol
Tyler Fisher
Where do you muster the gall to demand merit when you start a thread without it?
Ryder Ward
>not including the publisher % >actually thinking studio get that much %
Ayden Jackson
Since I'm not a developer does any of this shit even matter to me? The game is going to cost me $60 regardless of where I buy it. Steam is a better service. Steam gets my money.
fpbp >implying you said anything of merit or made a proper point to refute in the first place Kek epicshill. I'll come over to EGS after they up teh security features and put in a shopping cart. I'm one of those 'entitled and self-absorbed' gamers who needs decent service and low prices to keep me from pirating
Elijah Torres
I want to use online features, Steam community and other features. I don't trust pirates too.
Zachary Taylor
>another DRM'd store Miss me with that gay shit. >inb4 muh it's DRM-free after the download I shouldn't download bloatware just to get my fucking game.
Landon Baker
Lots of Steam PR shills out today, which company do you all work for, my brother is a NEET and could use a job
Parker Walker
If you want to advertise the store to developers, I don't think Yea Forums is the right place.

Nice reddit meme, let me guess, you think the chinese government owns epic?

Now this is even more gay than OP. Congrats, you are the biggest faggot in here.
Caleb Parker
Fuck dude if posts like that give me one dollar in my steam wallet then sign me up
Luke Anderson
Epic are utterly fucked. They said the revenue split isn't going to stay like that because its unsustainable. However, if they change it even a little bit, or stop offering huge wads of cash every time, devs will just go back to Steam. No matter how much money this ends up burning, even if it results in the company going into the red, they have no choice but to keep it up. They better hope that Fortnite and China money doesn't slow down.
Daniel Williams
On the other hand though Valve's cut of games pays for all the work they do on game infrastructure and promoting modern best practices like standards-first development and make it easy for developers to target a large number of PC platforms. Epic may give developers more money, but they encourage backwards and more expensive practices like a Windows-first development and lock developers to outdated platforms headed towards their end of life.

>I know lots of gamers are entitled and self-absorbed, so it's going to take a while for them to understand that money which goes back to publishers and developers instead of going down some black hole (to a company that doesn't even make games) is a VERY good thing for consumers Yes, all that extra money EA got from leaving Steam for Origin allowed them to make SimCity Online, Dragon Age inquisition, Mass Effect Andromeda, Star Wars Lootbox Simulator 2, and Anthem. Hurray?
Austin Turner
Tencent is specially retarded if they don't have a backup plan with all the money they make.
low iq steamniggers bout to descend on this thread
Kayden Hughes
next game will have more staff working on it= higher quality. Steamniggers just cant see the big picture for some reason. >GROG WANT LOW PRiCE!
Austin Sullivan
I find it odd that Epic doesn't have full exclusivity I've been playing metro exodus since game pass for PC is only a dollar, and I really don't get what sort of business went down for that
Jason Gutierrez
Your life is a joke, shilling even on a saturday.
Joseph Jones
Not really, right now they are seeding an install base. After a certain point they will have a customer base which buys from their store. Then they selectively market exclusives rarely instead of trying to catch them all. Even if they only take 15% market share that's something at no cost since they won't be doing anything with their cut anyways. On top of that, they can funnel all Chinese bought games through their stores.
> right now they are seeding an install base yeah, in radioative ground and are watering those seeds with fucking acid if they want brand loyalty and a dedicated fanbase for their launchers, why fuck with the people who will make up that fanbase? What will that accomplish?
Luis Gray
>next game will have more staff working on it= higher quality. >he thinks the industry works this way OH NO NO NO NO
Anthony Gonzalez
Well my nigger friend if a game makes low amounts of money then there definitely wont be a high quality sequel.
Lincoln Russell
>I find it odd that Epic doesn't have full exclusivity Because that costs more money.
Brody Walker
good time to remind people not forget to blacklist devs that take epic bribes. gear is to the right.
>make a post that literally says no EGS = no buy >"Well you the die hard fanboy, not me"
uhhhhhhhhhh If EGS is so good, how come their UI is shit, it has no cross platform viability, its wonk as fuck with constant bugs or issues and cant be assed to actually provide decent service? You can throw free shit at me all day, im still not going to use the mcdonalds service.
Blake Russell
Epic's really only good at throwing money around, they've already shown that they won't respect developers from when they just put games on sale without asking the developers. These are just really aggressive tactics so they can become the monopoly instead of steam, and if it works they're going to put the screws on everyone (including devs) and make things worse long-term.
Henry Long
Source please?
When the fuck has anything good happened when a producer gets more money? Thank god Activision milked COD for 2 decades, amirite??
Mason Phillips
>if a game makes low amounts of money then there definitely wont be a high quality sequel.
DmC:Devil may Cry didn't get a lot of money, but then we got DMCV, one of the best devil may cry games.
Well, so does exclusivity on its own I still don't get the point, if I have to choose between them and Microsoft it's not that different from choosing between epic and valve
Easton Ward
WHERE ARE MY CHEAPER GAMES SWEENEY
Noah Davis
Maybe if DmC had done better they would've gotten a bigger budget. And hired gameplay/level designers. dab
The problem isn't really money if you're dev'ing [good/decent] games. If you're indie, your overhead should be low. If not, fuck off. If you're not, then you're a cuck because the money flows upwards past you and you are constantly put through the grinder.
Andrew Robinson
People seem to always mistake developers with publishers. Developers get, like everyone else who works a regular job, monthly wages, they don't depend on whether the game sells good or not. There might be boni attached to good sales but the developers don't depend on it.
Juan Davis
Why aren't the prices on EGS any lower?
Hunter Watson
fpbp GOG for life
Ryan Cox
Fucking based
Ayden Murphy
They're Chinese, eventually they will trap consumers as paypigs for a worse service.
Gabriel Reed
Don't care about how much the developer gets. Epic still hasn't given the consumer a reason to switch.
Brody Harris
I'm eagerly awaiting the upcoming PR messes once the first exclusive periods end.
Blake Phillips
Fuck consumers, the devs totally need a bigger cut for their mediocrity. More reason to pirate games when they gave a 12% larger revenue stream and yet the products still uninspired trash
Xavier Brooks
Because someone has to pay for transaction costs, e.g. you.
Nolan Howard
imagine having loyalty to .exes and refusing to use some of them. either be a pirate Chad and skip them all together or fuck off with your standards
