i played indev and later infdev builds for a while in like 2010. it was a cool flavor of the month proof of concept game. didnt think anything else of it other than every now and then I'd laugh at the griefing videos. now I find out that this game is somehow something like a childhood defining game for the zoomers here who were 12 at the time. bit freaky.

Minecraft is still garbage though. It's just that fortnite has an even more cancerous community

I'm 27 and me and a few of my longtime online friends played Minecraft for a few weeks on our own server. It was comfy as fuck.
It was nice to get away from the hardcore violent video games I usually play for once.
Actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

Replaying and I don't really have a ton of motivation after iron tier. I've got a defended village with like 30 testificates at master level, yadda yadda, I want to do other stuff but anything interesting is always just insane distances it bores me to tears. Jungle biome still lags like fucking shit and mining nether quartz for xp is also boring af.

Minecraft encourages creativity and patience in kids and will stimulate the smart ones.
Fortnite encourages walking in empty fields then getting a burst of feel good hormone or anger then starting over and learning silly dances. It also encourages becoming a whale. Dumb or smart, you do the exact same repetitive task in a loop and your brain will not be stimulated.
