Please tell me how to enjoy XC2. I got a really good deal on it but it's just so slow I stopped playing it. The first one was slow but not this bad. I dread going into fights because even small enemies take several minutes to kill.
I really enjoyed p5 and DQxi and I want to enjoy XC2 as well but I just don't have the patience to slog through the awful combat. It doesn't help that the characters do far are campy and boring as shit

I played 180ish hours of it and I thought it was pretty good. Beat everything there was to beat. Also demon jade gets me hard.

XC2 is very mediocre. The combat is bland and every fight plays out the same.

Jesus the music is just atrocious. Its not even about the shitty midi quality of the ps4 version, but the actual compositions are just embarrassing garbage

Dragon Quest is a staple in Japan, it's something people by and large understand all the conventions of and chill out with. So the areas where to people that aren't already down with it, it feels archaic, instead it feels rustic.

This was my first DQ since 4 and I wanted so badly to like it. Unfortunately the game is pretty shit. Got to the time rewind quasi-post game section and really had to force myself to finish it. Seems bland, I get they are trying to hold true to traditions and all but the game has so little going for it and does nothing I haven't seen in JRPGs dozens of times before.
