Will you be buying it?

Will you be buying it?

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 155K)

not unless someone confirms the added story content

nah I will pirate it

No, I bought it twice already.

Duh

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES

I didn't buy it on ps4 because I've been waiting for this version, since I was told it would have more to it

Smart man
Same and I am not disappointed

If it comes to PC, sure.

I paid for and played this game once already. I really liked it but not enough to purchase and play it again. This can't be an uncommon sentiment. I have a PC (where I played it first) and a Switch but there is just no way I am buying the whole fucking game again.

No. I'm going to pirate it and play with cheats on,

Why is Dragon Quest not popular in the West?

Attached: 65F4E8C5-CA5F-483E-B90F-CC255292F994.jpg (1180x879, 182K)

>switch is literally just "definitive edition" games
>i.e it's all just ports
nice """""exclusives"""""

because it was only called Dragon Quest with DQ8 and there was probably a marketing/advertisement misstep along the way that caused it to be less recognized than every other SE JRPG

Because jrpg players in the west are not mindless drones that likes playing the same game over and over

Yeah, I've been waiting for this version. I don't really get into DQ games but this one looks fun enough to play through once

Attached: yes jojo gif.gif (500x281, 1.93M)

Why do you have to ask the same question over and over again?

Yes, this and Persona Royal. Honestly I just want to fug the cousin.

I'll emulate

maybe when it's like 20 yuros, years old game and all

>DQ

lol no

Yeah it's gonna be the game I buy in the Autumn since I bought Shadowbringers for the summer

I've already bought it on PS4 and 3DS years ago.

Nah. Pirated DQ11 on PC when it came out and played like 3-4 hours of it before getting bored to tears. As far as JRPGs on the Switch goes, my money has gone to FF12: Zodiac Age and Valkyria Chronicles. As far as JRPGs that are to come, my money will go to Atelier Ryza instead of DQ11S.

DQ's gameplay is just way too simple and barebones. It's like a JRPG made in the early 1990s, which I guess is the point since DQ is apparently one that takes fucking pride in not evolving at all. Even the music is MIDI trash.

yep

Because FF has been dwindling lately and Square doesn't want more competition despite owning both

I played until I beat the first boss and came back to the village. It felt like a chore and I can't force myself to play further. Therefore no, I probably won't touch it ever again.

Yea, I waited for the Switch version from the start.

Yes but I don't own a Switch so until there gets to be more non-remake exclusives for it that I do want, I won't play this one. Once Rune Factory 5 and SMT 5 are real things that look to be coming to the US, then I will start thinking about a Switch.

Yes, I am playing Dragon Quest 9 right now, my first one in the series, so I can further enjoy 11. At least that's my hope.

8 more closely resembles 11 than 9 does.

Skipped PC and PS4, never took the $30 sale bait. Almost did once, though. Day 1 buy on Switch for Jade mating press marriage ending exclusive route.

Attached: 1539823595616m.jpg (695x1024, 95K)

Yep. This and Astral Chain

That's interesting to know. I just wanted a DQ experience, but I might try 8 then.

Bad localization. And some of the games were never brought to the west until a decade later.

Probably. Pretty salty though they aren't bringing the changes to other platforms. I hate when "definite' versions are on the weakest hardware.

Yeah, I'm going to sell my unplayed ps4 version.

Dunno, give me a sales pitch for DQ user

I did on Snoystation 4 and I don't plan on getting it on the Shitch because it's overpriced tablet in Leafistan.

Attached: DRAGON QUEST XI_ Echoes of an Elusive Age_20180911233019.jpg (1920x1080, 248K)

when the non-potato version is inevitably announced

I think I might, since it would be my first DQ game. Interested in series more now ever since The Hero got into Sm5sh.

As long as it's not 60 bucks, probably

Who would pass up another opportunity to ogle Serena?

Attached: 1549570202562.jpg (721x1266, 237K)

No because its shit franchise
and this game is one of the worst dq made

Lolno, played and beat it after 80 hours on PC
I'm not playing a version with worse performance, not to mention grinding metal slimes to beat Calasmos again, just to marry Jade

Attached: 1543770865276.png (684x360, 219K)

Of fucking curse.

Pokemon let me down for teh lst time and I'm dropping it and Dragon Quest looks awesome

No. Tried it on PS4, lost interest in the story, and I hate the soundtrack. Jade's ok tho.

Attached: Du6s2-zU0AAUkU0.jpg orig.jpg (681x904, 92K)

If there's a PC version/content patch yes.
If not, I might just wait to get the newer Switch model revision.

based Ixy

Attached: 1561424591549.jpg (900x1650, 243K)

Yes

Question, just beat the 3DS version of VIII, about mid to late 40's in level, what level do I want to be for the postgame and is the postgame worth it?

Attached: Guv Smash.jpg (1024x1024, 73K)

Maybe

Attached: D9bNwX1VUAE3MMq.jpg (1200x900, 181K)

maybe if the content comes out on other versions
I don't want to buy a switch right now

Anyone who wanted this game already played it. So no, I dont want a shitty sub 720p version with downgrades and shit framerate.

It will.

Not sure.
It was an okay game on PS4 but I don't think I want to buy it again.

Attached: 65891497_p0.png (1032x1100, 484K)

thankfully i pirated it the first time because now im mostly paying to marry jade

Jrpgs have never, NEVER been popular in the west.

>Inb4 "Final Fantasy 7!!!"

That was mostly due to marketing. There were just as many people who hated it with a burning passion as people who loved it, and one of the main complaints was because "I dont wanna read my vidya gaem!!" We're not playing recretionist history here guys.

Not unless you can permanently restore Veronica's body, and even then it'd be a hard maybe, because I never buy upgraded versions of games I already own, even when it increases the amount of content by 50% like KHIIFM.

Already traded in my ps4 copy for it

I don't have it yet, so might as well get it on my switch

content > graphics
This has always been the definition of definitive. I know what you're gonna say "why not both?" because this industry is retarded and such a thing isn't possible.

Maybe, not for full price though

Attached: DwYLE9QU8AAlyDg.jpg orig.jpg (2048x2048, 372K)

I didn't end up buying it on PS4, and glad I didn't.

Switch it is m8

Emet-Selch did nothing wrong

Depends.
Might be a shitty port and Nintendo literally never discounts shit because its run by senile Japanese boomers who know fuck all about sales.

I played DQ11 at a friends place last year and we all loved it, my concern is will the Switch version look even half as good?

If not, you can just play through in the 16-bit style, which looks great.

The switch cost more them a PS4

Were you in 3rd grade or something when FF7 came out? What the fuck are you talking about?

I beat the Dragovian Trials at level 60+, and I think I was at level 85 at Memory Lane, though by the time I reached the end boss I was already level 99. If you know what you're doing it's doable to beat before level 80, if you don't even on level 99 you can be one-shoted if not careful enough.
Aside from providing a new ending to the game, I think it's fun for the challenge and along with some side quests it rewards you with cool equipment that changes the characters appearance, so I'd say it's worth it.

Alright, will grind for a bit then go for it. Thanks user.

I bought it on Steam for 30 euros (during the sale), but I haven't finished it. Didn't like it that much but, to be honest, my achievement autism played some role in that. You see, I wanted all chievos, and the game requires absurd amount of grind for that.

But... There are no achievements on the Switch, you can play in glorious SNES graphics, added content and revisiting areas from previous DQ games... Day 1 buy. Fucking Treehouse.

I feel really old for asking this, but do people actually play for achievements? I find them neat, but I never hold them as a consideration when making a purchase for a multiplat.

Depends on whether or not I get to marry best girl.

Attached: 1541062992852.gif (200x260, 3.86M)

Yes! Can't wait to play this game in handheld at 560p or less! So hyped

Yes I will so I can marry Jade. Also expanded storyline

As stupid as it may sound, I try to obtain them if they are rare; same with platinum trophies. I don't care about number of plats, nor do I buy game multiple times just to get the same trophies over and over again (in games that have different set ot trophies for each market, like Demon's Souls for example), but I get hard when I obtain rare or very rare trophy or achievement.
Like I said, autism.

Yeah but later, I'm still in the middle of 8.

Yeah, wasn't in a DQ mood when it originally came out and more content is nice. I really wish it also had the 3DS style in the game in addition to the 2D mode. The low poly look is so charming.

Seething Snoy

The ending of 8 made me cry.

If XI S and Smash gets DQ some real recognition in the West like with FE, I'll very much take it

Honestly the content coming to PS4 would probably lead to a new 60$ release since we know this is a different build of UE4 than the one used on PS4 and PC
PC content is less likely though considering how much it must have sold.

I don't think it's stupid, you gotta find value in the games you buy. I do like collecting them as well if I really like the game, but usually stop if the achievement is something stupid like "Beat Game 100 times" or something that I don't feel really achieve anything. I was just wondering because I never heard of achievements as a reason to buy a game.

3DS 2D mode comes with it which actually does have more content.

Enix skipped releasing 5 and 6 for the snes in the west and did not release a mainline DQ game until 7 which was released for the PS1 which was released under the name Dragon Quest instead of Dragon Warrior like the 1st 4 games.

I no longer need to buy Switch games since I have Sx OS. I will "get" it, though.

>go to fight Malroth
>says level 40 on mission
>be around 60
>still fucks me up

>fighting malroth and not getting your ass reamed
haha

>hurdurhuhu ur mas sony because you spoke truth
Stop being a nigger and be realistic. This game wont be running in native while in handheld. Especially when is UE4

No. Even if I was interested in JRPGs (I'm not), I would already have bought it on PC.

Absolutely.

We all know that it won't look good as PS4/PC versions, but saying it will be 540p in handheld is pure trolling. You are angry because added content is exclusive to Switch version.

No, not really interested
My extent of knowledge about DQ is the porn with the orange bodysuit priest from I believe DQ3, some characters from 8 like Angelo & Jessica, and Fortune Street.
It didn't look that interesting and i'm not fond enough of JRPGs to want to play DQ

The Switch can't even run a simple 2D platformer that uses Unreal 4. You're really delusional.

But runs The Last Remnant which isn't 2D and uses UE4
Here's (You), enjoy.

Are you talking about Yoshi?

user. I'm not even fucking with you. It won't be 720p in handheld and a lot of games especially ones running on UE4 do 575p tops. Witcher 3 for example, not even 600p in handheld. FF12, again not even 600p

Bloodstained.

Yoshi, a game made only for the Switch can't even do 500p. Docked. A lot of UE4 games looks decent to bad but never native in HANDHELD mode. If not that then performance issues.

>Buy it full price because I love jrpgs and dq is supposed to be good
>Can't stand how slow the combat is and drop it when I get to the boat solely because of that
>"Hey we added in a fast combat option if you buy it again!"
No, fuck you.

no fps issue? DQB2 was choking on the switch lol

Already bought the Japanese and English PS4 versions, I'll pirate the Switch version when I get around to installing CFW on it.

me three....but something I am thinking about is JUST HOW MUCH of a difference will there be in the graphics? I saw a side by side comparison of PS4 version and Switch version, the PS4 screenshot had darker colors and more details.......is the extra content worth the very subtle downgrade? I love my switch far more than my PS4

Attached: 00097957.0001.png (125x125, 23K)

No, but I'll buy it when they put that content on PC.

Because they want to starve the West of good JRPG's so that garbage like FFXV will look passable.

In terms of assets its all the same with new stuff, mainly because this is so far the only DQ game made with the Switch in mind and Horii being a stubbern old man who really pushed for this port to happen.
Its a soft game on Switch but its also soft on PS4 since it also is sub 1080p there.
The reason this port looks like it ended up so well is not only the big push for this to happen behind the scenes but they also are using a new version of UE4 that is better than the build from the original release, this may honestly be one of the best ports the system has ever scene giving even Doom, Mortal Kombat, and Witcher a run for their money.
Its kinda morbid but some people think Horii saw early prototype of Zelda on NX when Iwata was alive which led to him pushing for this so hard

Attached: comparison-2.jpg (1280x1440, 316K)

They're not going to.

It will be the best port only if it plays at locked 30fps at least and 720p in handheld. Which it won't. Therefore not making it any better than the Witcher.

no because it's a port lol

All we know about Witcher is that it targets 720p docked and hits it a lot and is 540p in portable, performance is something we have no idea about.
I don't know what DQ11 Switch is at since pixel counting Switch games and UE4 games is always a bitch but we know the PS4 version is 900p meaning 720p docked is more likely unless it is optimized to hell and back.

Here's the new options screen.
One thing we don't know is that in the Japanese version you can transfer save files from 3DS and PS4 to Switch via a password, if you've beaten the game you can choose to start from various points in the game but it might be japan only.

Attached: tumblr_pt00xv3dLd1s64n6yo1_1280.png (1280x791, 765K)

Wait, whats the hero's voice do? Does he actually get dialog in game or does it just give him battle grunts or something?

Grunts and stuff, Japan doesn't like the idea of him talking or making much noise so you can turn it off.

Ah, I was hoping for to much when I saw that and thought he might have a voice in cutscenes. Thanks for letting me know user.

Then that's makes it even safer to assume that DQ11S will run at 540p as a minimum in handheld if the ps4 could only do 900p. Fuck sake

UE4 is a bitch, everyone knows that and none of the console is equipped to handle that.
The new FF7 Remake was swapping between 720p and 900p on PS4 at E3

People played these game with 16 bit graphics
You’re complaints fall on deaf ears

I'm worried it will run like hot dogshit in portable

>you're complaints
Why can't Burgers write like normal human beings?

Hoping to preorder it later this week. I think I'm pretty close to finishing DQV now and I really enjoyed it so I don't see why not.

No. Dragon Quest is a garbage series with very boring stories which for JRPGs is a turn off. Starting with the lame mute heroes. Every single one of them is a fucking mute.

Also fuck Dragon Ball, most overrated anime ever and that's the only reason Dragon Shit continues to sell. I will celebrate when Akira Toriyama dies, the untalented hack.

I live in Bulgaria.

thats a really good port, and thank you for the nice reply; but i cant helped but get irked by the lack of black lines in the switch version, i notice these things.
>probably pulling the trigger anyway for the bonus content

I'll probably buy it once I finish Dragon Quest IV

Attached: 1560728018267.jpg (2020x897, 430K)

The west is only interested in pre-pubescent trannies

Attached: 1561899076926.png (253x440, 252K)

I am.

Malroth is the coolest final boss.

Helll yes.

>buying a 30fps game for 60 dollars
no

You bet your ass I will. Of course I would have preferred that the upgraded version got released for the PS4 so the textures didn't look like ass. Oh well, they'll probably re-release it 3 to 6 months after.

Still hyped about The Heroes being in Smash Bros.

Attached: proxy.duckduckgo.com.jpg (640x640, 61K)

Already preordered it.

Fps are completely irrelevant on a turn based game.

been playing 8 loving that one as ,y first DQ and seen how cool the exploration looks in the game. how does it as a whole compare to 8?
