>Shares of Electronic Arts fell more than 5% Friday morning after initial viewership numbers for a new release failed to reach previous highs. >The new season hasn’t gotten more than 50,000 daily viewers on Twitch, according to Twitch Tracker. >The game had more than 100,000 viewers in a day as recently as March.
you know what this means, right? Publisher are going to start forcing their developement studios to make games as twitch friendly as possible. Think about it, EA stocks fell 5%+ because a game didn't get enough viewers on twitch. Doesn't matter how many people actually played it, the public perception is that it failed and that is everything to a stock
I'm sure it has nothing to do with EA's """""((("""""""""surprise mechanics"""""""""""""")))"""""""
Adrian Clark
But it has gotten more than 50k. The day of the update there was like 130k. Thats wrong.
Lincoln Rivera
the game isnt even popular on twitch
Dylan Foster
>thinking twitch is a barometer
this is for fortnite babbies and fortnite only. adult games are actually played not watched.
Julian Johnson
It's not a game that appeals to little kids. You must have a mental deficit if you would rather watch others play instead of doing it yourself.
Nicholas Lewis
Also this
Anthony Carter
shareholders are weird and want metrics
and they arent fortnite numbers consistantly
Jacob Gray
I stopped playing for awhile.
Does S2 really have dinos?
Justin Scott
no.a companys stock is determined off it's value you troglodyte
just saying x is bad doesn't mean stock will freefall you absolute human failure
you sound like like someone who would try and get people to short Apple in 1991 out of personal hate

how can we destroy EA? Actiblizz too, if possible. Bethesda and Ubisoft can stay
Jose Adams
pretty amazing that stock buyers are so easily fooled they honestly thought that this game was ever popular even through it has been prooven that ea payed all the top streamers
Daniel Cruz
who cares
Andrew Bailey
they are probably talking about average I really doubt this game has more then 30k viewers on average
Carter Brown
the game is ass. shit hit detection and hit boxes. floaty movement. ugly characters
Jack Flores
git gud
Andrew Gutierrez
I'll never understand this. I didn't go to business school or anything, and I'm not a stock broker or whatever. But how can shareholders be so fucking stupid?
It literally isn't possible to always be better. Ups and downs, peaks and valleys. Sometimes shit just dies. Other times it explodes.
Why are they so obsessed with being number one? It just doesn't happen, especially when you try and force it. And then they get pissy and mad when they throw all their cash away when it doesn't work, then they fuck it up more, lose more, and it continues in a cycle until they fully abandon it for whatever their next retarded project will be
I just don't get it.
Julian Long
>be EA >make class-based battle royale >all of the classes are ugly, unoriginal, or annoying as fuck >only like 3 of them are even consistently good >one map and that's it
PUBG was unironically better.
Robert Phillips
who would've thought that making an entire game off one game mode in an already saturated market for that game mode doesn't have lasting appeal
Aaron Torres
Short term gains, most normie investors only care about fast gains rather than steady long term ones
Austin Torres
>Respawn makes potential Fortnite killer just by making a great game >EA kills it on Season 1 due to shitty monetisation >Nobody comes back for Season 2 Pottery.
Colton Morris
is apex the dota 2 of BRs?
Wyatt Hernandez
They can't literally be so stupid though? That's like literally a child's level of understanding money and money gain and things like that.
Short term is fine some of the time if you're trying to support a fad or popup something or other for a quick boost in cash. But when you have long term properties, they just decide to run them into the ground constantly and never seem to learn that it isn't a good idea.
Wtf?
Ethan Martinez
>he thinks real people trade stocks
Not since the 00s kiddo, its all automatic ai bots. The reason BTC is so volatile is when 1 bot dumps all the bots trigger dumps, same with pumps.
Grayson Ortiz
I let you on a little secret shareholders and their likes in boardrooms never understood videogames, the same way they never understood cars, building, trains or any kind of industry for that matter. they've been trained to do one thing: get as much cash in as less time as possible. They don't know that a multiplayer game is bound to lose people and rwitchviews as it ages, they don't want to know anyway, plus as the other user pointed out this is all botfarms running on retarded algorithms

and the "new and improved" content for season 2 ain't much better either
Ayden Parker
I recently heard of a vaccine developer who made a 3-stage vaccine with greater effectiveness throughout the 3 stages of shots. It's objectively superior to other 3-stage vaccines. The developer's stocks dropped hard. Why? Because their vaccine after the 2nd shot isn't as effective as the standard effectiveness of the 3rd shot, by a tiny margin, meaning they can't market it as a 2-stage vaccine and compete with an other 2-stage vaccine which carries a lot of side effects. They vastly surpassed the requirements for their newly developed vaccine, and their stock crashed because they couldn't reach one more milestone.

Good. Fuck Cuckpex.

The giant dinosaur things that were chilling out in the ocean have wandered onto the map because of the EMP blast that destroyed the Repulsor tower keeping them away.
Also, there are no dragon pterodactyl things flying around carrying death boxes with color-leveled loot.

*there are NOW
Blake Bennett
The mechanics were pretty good on launch, but somehow they're falling apart now. I don't get how that works, but EA's developers' patches seem to just fuck games up even worse.
Jack Baker
lot of players wont even dont even use battle pass items compared to season 1 where everyone was wearing one
