That's a pretty cool first vid OP.
was the nxc one done by gainax? has some imaishi lookin shots
allow me to translate for the "soul" tard.
>competent artists doing decent animation utilising minimal frames.
VS
>absolute retards who can't even draw their own bad anatomy consistently making a slideshow with no flow.
Different feeling for different kind of game. NxC is a turn based strategy game with all kinds of cyborgs, soldiers, demons, and warriors fighting to survive. Shantae is a magical girl's cheesecake adventures.
what the fuck do you mean with this?
the shantae OP is cool though
that namco x capcom one is something else though, I can't deny.
Shantae opening is still half-assed at a whopping 30 seconds total meaning no fun allowed and terrible vocals crammed in as well. It would actually be passable if it were longer and let the viewer get invested in the setting and characters
>and let the viewer get invested in the setting and characters
It's the fifth game. If you aren't invested now then there's no hope for you.
hehehe waifuss.....
The only reason the Namco x Capcom intro is a long as it is is because they had a shit ton of characters to introduce.
>nd let the viewer get invested in the setting and characters
Except the NxC one doesn't do that either.
Neither do the PxZ/2 ones mind you.
>get invested in the setting and characters
Each character in the Namco x Capcom opening shows up for what, like 5 seconds? Some even less than that. There is also no setting they attempt to get you invested in. The most recognizable place is the Tower.
Early 200s has aged so poorly. I can see how it’s responsible for a generation of autists
*2000s anime
I have watched the Namco x Capcom intro a million times, same thing with the PxZ into. It does the exact same shit the Shantae intro does, the only difference is that is has more time to do what it's doing. But that's expected when it has the backing of fucking Bamco and Capcom.
Hello
I love when wannabe third rate back seat animators think they know anything
Except that’s not even half the cast.
And? It's still a shit ton of characters. Just because it's not half the cast doesn't change that fact.
I am so dissapointed with shantae's op. I am pretty sure that trigger just threw this job to their interns.
Fuck off interns deserve work too
>me good animator you bad animator me allowed to have opinion you no because HARD WORK
get bent
When you're argument is literally just soul soulless it kinda falls flat
Kill yourself faggot
Congratulations, I have awarded you the Smoothest Brain of the Day™ Award!
Fuck You!
I cannot express how disappointed I am that trigger didn't animate this intro, or that they didn't get the guy for the other intros.
>Each character in the Namco x Capcom opening shows up for what, like 5 seconds?
And each character in shantae shows up in 2 seconds. That is a quite big difference. Now mention that each cut is too fast.
They need to slow down each character a bit, like
youtube.com
would be perfect.
I mean, what are you expecting from Trigger? This is quintessential Imaishi.
>Namco X Capcom OP
I remember when this was posted on here many years ago
SOUL
If you don’t think that first intro is fire anything you have to say about taste is irrelevant
>That is quite a big difference
This. You literally have to watch the Shantae opening again and again to get what is going on which is absolutely stupid for an intro but makes sense for a commercial.
NxC is more emotional and gets you pumped to play the game.
Even if you are a big Triggerfag you have to admit this isn't their best shit.
They are both kinda soulless, the song in the NxC intro is sluggish and awful.
Your point is wrong.
Less time over all means less time to introduce the characters, and unless you wanna foot the bill for a longer intro then you can't compare a game with Bamco or Capcom money to something with Wayforward money which is no doubt significantly less.
Also, rather then comparing it to the Japanese intro, how about something more comparable, like the US intro since Shantae is not a Japanese property.
>You literally have to watch the Shantae opening again and again to get what is going on which is absolutely stupid for an intro but makes sense for a commercial.
Wow it's almost like getting Trigger of all teams to animate an intro and then put it out before Shantae 5 has even shown gameplay is a commercial for the game.
You’re the first person I’m seen in 14 years to not like Brave New World.
Soul is a meme and I don't hold any opinion on Shantae, but that's just shit taste.
I had the belief that this was actually the video that plays when you boot up the game so if i'm wrong then my mistake but if not then fuck you that is undeniably retarded of them.
>Even if you are a big Triggerfag you have to admit this isn't their best shit.
No one is saying it is
And the Namco x Capcom intro is full of blink and you'll miss it shit. And how the hell is it emotional? I love the Namco x Capcom/Project X Zone intros, but you are giving them way to much credit.
Idk, it just doesn't speak to me and the singer has no power.
I dont like the song either
>NxC is more emotional
The thing is if you made an opening for a Shantae game that looked anything like that first video, it would be incredibly ill-fitting.
I agree with most of your point, especially about the budget since shantae never had been an AAA project.
Still, I would like something that is not epilepsy inducing. Something that I could wrap my head around what the fuck is going on. Heck, even a slideshow would be nice compare to what we got.
(SOUL)
I believe so.
Amemiya (when he actually animates) > Ikarashi
It absolutely is. NxC characters are doing more than just jumping into frame and they sync with the music. the Shantard music just makes my ears bleed.
Shantae's opening its so fucking weird, its like if Trigger was imitating their own artstyle but failed to do so, if that makes any sense
i dont care for the thread, I just wanted to post this
youtube.com
>Two and a half minute animation masterpiece featuring cuts from Yoh Yoshinari and Hiroyuki (God) Imaishi among others.
VS.
30 sec quick job by Kai Ikarashi on his lunch breaks.
>Every pair and solo units in the OP
>Except for Xiaoyu
Wtf
Sadly the actual game stages in NamcoXcapcom are so soulless and boring. Not to mention enemy reinforcement always appear outta nowhere to make the stages even more tiresome to play through. You'll be wishing you played Shantae instead.
user, a good portion literally just popping into frame, doing an attack/pose and moving out of frame.
For me its TatSOULnoko vs Capcom
youtube.com
>tfw sequel fucking never
There's really not a whole lot of animation happening in the first one. the majority of it is static images and panning with effects over it.
Shantae's opening feels like it's going too fast. Reduce the speed to .75 in youtube and the cuts and everything feels much better.
Because when you are talking about animation the less frames you use the better, anyone knows the less something moves the better the animator.
Anime used to be like the first video WHAT THE HELL HAPPEND?????
>Anime used to be like the first video
It still is, a lot of shots with zero movement at all, then every few episodes they blow the budget on one fight scene.
Is not about the budget dont know i feels like they actually care about the product isntead WEEBS GOING TO BUY ANYWAY THEY ONLY WANT CUTE N FUNNY GIRLs
Is posible TO make both but studios dont want
there hasnt been a game with a better opening than namco x capcom
not even the project x zone games
