Why, yes, I do have a theme. All are Platformers representing different ships, with some unique Boss fights. I welcome feedback.

NUCLEAR MELTDOWN >you're dared to explore an abandoned nuclear power plant... whats the worst that could happen? >themed standard adventure level that isn't toooo long or too difficult
Chance of Hail: RNW-03C-9JF Sky bouncing, claw swinging, and a bit of ice.
Soles of the Departed: C80-VJX-WJG Shoe bouncing over danger in an attempt to escape damnation.
Sole Redemption: TMX-MSV-VXG Continue the journey and defeat some bosses to save your sole.
Ascending Sole: 7XM-NHB-MRF Complete the trilogy! Bounce through the clouds to reach the golden path.
Brinstario Abridged 3V9-KDQ-FTF Upgrades optional. Now with bonus "Kraid"!
I have maker's block. Help.
David Torres
Finally cleared it! Jungle Acrobat: Q12-BND-KYG Swim on cranes, dodge fire balls, surf on shell and defeat bowser! It's my second level but my first one was pretty bad.

Is there a way to check which difficulty my levels got put in?

Posting both mine & my hubby's levels~ - Meowser's Catastrophic Boss Rush >1HL-NSX-V1H 9-room boss rush with secret 1Ups in each room. It IS a tad challenging; he actually nerfed a few things in it before uploading because it was just stupid-hard. We both tried multiple times during the clear check.
If you want something more chill, try my smol comfy semi-platformer: - Nighttime Forest Frolic >XDB-8BY-SNG I wanted to make a comfy level with occasional moments of stress. Can you keep your shroom 'til the end? - I'm currently working on an airship level with a similar feel to my Forest Frolic. I really enjoy implementing risky jumps. Hubby suggested I make a more stressful daytime version, but we'll see. He's currently working on a Bowser's Inside Story-themed level. I've played a few levels from the previous thread but bump limit was reached before I could give feedback; r.i.p
Anthony Perry
need to know if good or garbo GHH-6Y6-JLG
Nathan Long
I think it depends on the ratio of clears to attempts. Those with high attempts but low clear rates are likely to be put in Expert/Super Expert. There's no way to tell aside from actually encountering your level in the Endless runs, as far as I know.
Charles Howard
1-1: Launch and Attack DGP-YP6-59G Mario in space. Slightly challenging.
Secret Lab of the Mole People 40X-79M-6NF No baby scrubs allowed.
As with before, any (You)s who play more course will get a play in return.
Aaron Watson
Q5L CRP JCG My best level. I hope it get some more traction. It could be slightly improved upon, but I don't want to re upload it as it holds my best stats as of yet.
Jose Gomez
The Thwomps feel kinda trolly.
Blake Smith
I made another Mario 64 inspired sliding course since my last one was really well received. This time it's based off the one in Cool Cool Mountain. L53-5J3-3FG Feel free to leave feedback or suggestions.
Disregard this post. It went up the moment before I posted this.
Carter Martin
Its pretty speedrunnable. You can go much faster than that. Have fun user !

Ground-pound your way through this red & rapid level! Easy difficulty, the fun is getting WR!
If you want a comment just {you} me : )
Evan Gonzalez
The spin-jumps are always fun lol
Logan Johnson
Other people can download your course, look at it in their coursebot, click on more info and then see the exact difficulty your course is in right now. You can't. For some reason.
Initially the difficulty is judged based on your own performance when uploading the course, but is quickly adjusted towards "how many people loaded the level vs how many cleared it" while also looking at how many times they died.
The clear rate % shown on a stage can be misleading, as you could see a stage with a clear rate of 5% but still have it be in easy cause the vast majority of those failed attempts are just resets or deaths by people trying for world record.
Dylan Rodriguez
Its a cool gimmick, gave it a like yesterday I think
John Bell
Cannonball Bridge Escape VK3-FT7-L7G
A level mostly focusing on jumping off cannonballs.
By the way, I did some major remodelling under the hood of the spreadsheet. It doesn't look any different, but it's much easier for me to tinker with and, best of all, it automatically hides old versions of levels. So, >if you reuploaded your course and want to update the involid ID, just resubmit your course. No more asking required. I can't really express the changes with a screenshot, so here's just an image of the stat page
>mario world has the most levels made as usual nintendo really needs to add throwing items upwards to the other styles
Noah Jones
thanks bro
Luke Moore
I made a level that's fun to speed run, with over 900 attempts but barely coming up on 20 clears. Your level just had to be fun and engaging, without stupid gimmicks like "go in 5 pipes and collect a key coin in each".
Angel Howard
It's so weird how the future 2d games don't have that feature, feels so natural to me
Josiah Richardson
pretty cute level. I like the color theme with the pipes. Dropped a like.
Didn't get WR but did try for it. I just suck too much with 3d World controls to get it
If you wanna play my level, WNS-HF8-HLG
Ian Smith
It's also because SMW is the most aesthetic and the spin-jump sound is more satisfying than in NSMB
Oliver Gomez
It's quite a bit of fun so far! Bravo level user! Got a pre-clear like from me. I'm throughly enjoying it! ^our levels if you'd like to check 'em out~
Evan Davis
>design an entire difficult course around being small, with all the jumps, gimmicks, mechanics, and tiles perfectly sized for small Mario >"YOOOO BRO COULD WE GET A MUSHROOM IN HERE?"

Ah, I see. That's a bit of a jank way to do it tbqh.
Justin Green
>It's also because SMW is the most aesthetic SMW gets worse looking with each new original sprite/enemy SMM adds

>Bombs Away BW0-HRS-YFF
Doesn't get any plays. Tell me if some parts are bullshit
Michael Bell
I got lucky and struck gold when the game first came out and got like 300, nothing has made it that high since. Probably the only way to get it that high consistently would be to either be, or shill to a popular streamer.
Isaac Reyes
>Trickshot Tunnel F1Q-78H-VYF A series of quick challenges demanding precise shots using the Superball.
>Deep Deep Cavern 3D2-M9J-4TG An easy but fun speedrun challenge with the timer being the only thing you have to worry about.
>To the Thermosphere XSL-CF4-Y5G A nonstop climb to the top with a variety of platforming challenges without ever touching the floor.
>The Gift of a POW-Block GCT-VSL-HQG A story-driven course about sacrifice and choice. Beating it is easy, but can you get the true ending?

Thanks! It was my attempt to make a level to appease the masses, that's not janky/hard like my others lmao. Giving yours a go right now :D

A simple level centered around using the hammer powerup. J6G-0WN-7RG A standard airship level.
Each one has 3 hidden 1-ups to find. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Ian Baker
whats the code btw?
Jackson Long
6FS-2RW-6DF First course, trying to get a hang of things. Still a bit disappointed by how many features from Super Mario World are missing.
Why are so many enemies missing? Fire bros, fire snakes, pokies, those jumping blocks with mini goombas in them, the paragoombas that cuck your jump with their babies, the nigger paragoombas...
Evan Stewart
In the case of my level, if they spent 10 seconds actually looking at the level, they'd realize that they'd lose your fucking mushroom almost instantly in any of the hard sections. And anyway, there was a checkpoint before every hard section, so I'm not sure where all the griping was coming from. So annoying.
Levi Nguyen
t. made some endurance course that takes 3 mins to speedrun with tons of trump jumps and other bs without checkpoints and gets salty when people don't want to bother
Piranha Creeper Grove [Hard difficulty] - Bounce on the piranha creeper’s heads and parkour your way to the goal. - ID: 974-23K-NHG
Goombrat Jungle Bungle [Medium difficulty] - Inspired by the Donkey Kong Country series - SSC-7Y4-TSG
Squeeky Switch Playground [Hard difficulty] - Test your platforming skills and parkour your way through the spike blocks and switches. - VFY-YVY-KQG
Jayden Ortiz
>4X-J0Q-RXG
Just beat it. Pretty solid, but the second part was too long without a checkpoint and relies a bit too much on trial and error. I'm just glad yo udidn't set a tight timer, that would have made it bad. Dropped a like
Blake Nguyen
Yeah, the timing can get messed up on quite a few of the jumps if you stop sliding or go too slowly. Make sure you keep sliding the whole time you're on the slide. Unless you're jumping of course.
Brody Hill
Coo coo. Coo coo-oo coo. (Let's finish this course. I have a prostitute coming over in an hour.)
Christian Wright
Just set up the new record of 2 minutes. Its a good level with well places checkpoints. Making good use of the walljumps.
Ian Butler
I want to stick my mushroom in Nina's warp pipe.
Luis Hernandez
tnx fren. I wanted it to be a rush for that second part, but I wasn't able to control the camera like I wanted so it ended up a bit more trial/error than I wanted.
Jordan Green
Coo. Coo coo. (Nina, if you would please stuff my pigeon body into my cleavage that would be lovely.)
>W-what?
Coo, coo. Coo-oo. (They say keeping a bird on your person at all times brings good luck when looking for shiny objects like coins.)
The majority of people out there are not looking for brutal levels

Easily one of the best I have played so far. The spinjumping on the piranha plants is great
Ayden Brown
>tfw the likes are starting to dry out despite getting lots of likes at first
I guess people have higher expectations of what to like?
Nathan Mitchell
Every day since release, I spend hours making a level I actually want to make, then two hours on an easy level to guarantee likes and comments and save my ego. It's been a fun week of work.
Why is the pro controller's d-pad so fucking shit? I'm gonna lose my damn mind over this.
Carter Reyes
Why are you playing with the dpad?
Cameron Gonzalez
>You know, she's not going to have sex with you when she sees you're a pigeon.
Coo co-coo. Coo-oo coo coo. (You never know. Some of them do.)
Jason Barnes
I try to take a step back and simply ask myself 'did I just have fun?' without overanalyzing the level, and like it if I did. If I have a criticism I always post a comment saying so, though always framed with some variation of 'but other than that, this was good!'. If I simply didn't enjoy a level I neither like nor boo. I only boo if the level seems to have been deliberately made to be unfair.
Levi Bailey
Pretty good
David Carter
I really hope theyll update it soon. There are so many things from Super Mario World missing. If you play the first two worlds of SMW you'd find at least a dozen things that arent in SMM2
Owen Thomas
>using a joystick for 2d mario Do any of the games represented in SMM2 even let you do that?
Camden Thompson
>Cloudy Bonesaw Heights: LYH-92P-SYF A short level about using the Dry Bone Shell to bounce off of saws.

>1-1: Launch and Attack Fun level despite not usually liking autoscrolls much. The first mole felt pretty random though, if you go up too high on the auto scroll you're hurt without warning. The use of fire for the exhaust was neat as well.
William King
Wait, that's actually pretty smart. Thanks user, it's put my resent trouble into a better perspective!
Do you have any levels you want played, gimme a code ;)
Dominic Adams
One of these days I'm gonna open that masterlist and play everyone's levels. I honestly get kinda overwhelmed by how many levels are in these threads and only play a small handful.
Charles Fisher
I meant to use that first mole as a warning about what was ahead -- didn't think it was possible to get hit by it. Guess that backfired. My bad
Anthony Cooper
Upwards Avalanche! J87-XPW-TWG
Use them Koopas to the best of your ability, stay near the top of the screen, and get in the fucking robot ASAP
Adam Baker
cute level
Christian Butler
That's understandable. I wish there was a feature for groups or something that just had levels from the members so you could just randomly pick from there. It'd also skip the cumbersome task of having to enter a code each time.
Lincoln Ortiz
Bit Crusade 3 is the sequel to the two full games (1-1 to 8-4) I created within Mario Maker 1, reminiscent of traditional Mario levels, and (eventually) utilizing all 5 game styles. Meant to be played in sequence as an adventure game, starting at the 1-1. There's secrets to find, alternative pathways and other goodies as well. Try to find all 5 Power Pepperonis hidden in each stage to access the super secret bonus room at the end of each level.
You can either start here:
1-1: Start of a New Journey V61-WT5-DPG
Or if you've been keeping up, the current world: : 2-1: DoubleJump Dunes 5HF-BVH-2JF 2-2: Cloud Town 8B2-6VV-VFG (Newest Stage)
Haven't seen many Super Leaf focused stages so I thought I'd rectify that. Evidently there's a softlock somewhere but after combing over it like 5 times this morning top to bottom I couldn't find it so I think it was BS.
Give em a go, I'm usually pretty good about leaving feedback here and on the game itself. Reply to this with some stages you want played and I'll prioritize those, otherwise I pick through the thread at random. If you complete the entire first world reply to this with what you thought or anything you find that's busted and I'll play all your levels, and if I find one I really like I'll make a webm of part of it to showcase it. Gonna play some levels for a bit starting with Recommending these levels as well
They got some fun shoe levels that strike that nice balance of fun and challenge
shilling this level one last time, bc I'm proud of it >Mario's Home Invasion 8JP-LVP-YNF Mario decides to enter without permission a bunch of houses, little does he know that they will eventually call the cops on him. He will find himself in prison where he needs to find a way out.
I had doubts but I have to admit that it is really good.

cool idea with the powering up before the boss but i just cheesed bowser by sitting underneath him in the middle and doing jump fire balls. no chance of being hit. no need to power up

Multigrab with the pro controller editing in docked mode is the best thing ever I make all my courses with the controller now Before I bought the game I thought I'd build with the stylus but nah, not as quick and comfy
Do I need a stylus, and what stylus would be recommended?
Austin Bennett
BYR-XB3-7NG Speedrun level I just got uploaded.
James Martinez
As someone who played MM1 and MM2 with a stylus. I'm actually going to don't really need a stylus
I've had no problems using the docked controls to create levels. Stylus makes things easier but I think people are overreacting to how bad docked is.
Hunter Butler
Did you know you could move Mario via touchpad while in Play mode of your own levels? That way you can skip over unfinished sections without needing to go into Build mode and back
Julian Robinson
Nah bro you don't need a stylus it's a touch screen you can just touch the screen yourself you can use your dick to make marios

I made some levels, not sure if anyone will like them but here goes:
R45-WXY-NRG "Spicy ice place" uses mostly ice blocks and fire obstacles.
H26-FY5-9YG "Big descent" A level where you mostly fall and avoid obstacles such as thwomps and bullet bills
D2K-0J1-GGG "Package for meowser" You have to carry a crate to the end of the level to get past meowser.

Ignore those filthy screen touching anons, a stylus is fairly essential for comfy making. Here are a couple good ones: amazon.com/gp/product/B072Q8TF3S bestbuy.com/site/insignia-slim-stylus-maroon/4400306.p?skuId=4400306 Personally I like the slim one I got from bestbuy, works nicely.

Hard, but fair, I didn't like the triple high jump over the big bullet bills, because all you do is hold right and b/a, but the rest is very fun to figure out
neat concept, I really liked it

Metroidvania-ish level. Big emphasis on exploration. I originally thought I made it too hard so I'm surprised people keep beating it. Good shit, guys. Still working on the sequel.

How do levels get over 50% clear rate anyway? Even the most retard-proof levels seem to have 30% to 40% at most And anything remotely hard immediately gets 3% or less
Easton Reed
Please play some of my levels.
SSM-FVQ-RXG A chill and easy stage. I want to see if easier stage get more popular.
6W3-47P-DDF Speedrun with icicles. See if you can top the WR.
69N-9M3-4SF Speedrun with claws. only one person made it to the end. Are you able to beat it?
B1F-QSL-N6G Another chill stage, with some extra challenges if you want the true ending.
2K3-NJN-0SF Themed stage where you are Jack and you climb up in the clouds to get your house key back from the giant.
H8Y-TV1-1QF A pseudo-speedrun stage where you race along a shellmet.

>weeb Yeah that's me. I try to make my courses as pretty as possible too. >If your clear rate isn't above 12% your course is almost certainly a flop. This is a shame, because people just really suck at mario I guess. Most are mine are above that, but there are a couple I thought would be easy enough and they're at like 9%.
Jace Morgan
Misreply user? I was talking about styluses, I'm not that guy.
Blake Brown
>That level designer who tags his stage "speedrun" but the stage is full of deathtraps if you don't wait for switch states to alternate from where they would normally be if you were running full speed
People are terrible at this. They also have the attention span of a pidgeon and will stop playing after dying three times. I wouldnt be suprised if most people didnt even know what the spin jump does it SMW
M88-3BV-JPF Poison Mushroom Escape! A short but difficult course of maneuvering around poison mushrooms and quick reacting
Jayden Fisher
I wanted to make a Jurassic Park style chase scene, like you're running from TRex Bowser in the jeep, and he's crashing through stuff. Also a "trick" door where you enter the bathroom, and are summarily eaten. But I just don't seem to have the skills to pull it off in any good way. Custom scrolling is weird, Bowser is too fast or too slow, the rails make him feel lifeless, 3d world with the car doesn't have rails to put Bowser on, can't make him break through things, etc. Think it's a fun concept, but just can't seem to put it together.
Jonathan Baker
Very cool, love the buildup and payoff
Ayden Gonzalez
>Vine Time A difficult level where you jump from vine to vine while avoiding bullets and other obstacles Get the red coins for the flagpole top! NXL-T1S-JLG
>Bounce! Bounce! It's Sky Course! A fast fun autoscrolling athletic level with a lot of bouncing 0X9-2HH-49G
I wish you didn't put those 3 coins near the end on Big Bully's -- if you're standing on the block and you've approached from above (the "secret") then it looks like you're supposed to land their. Total troll so close to the level's end. Apart from that I really liked it though.
Christian Myers
Your boss with the first course is flawed. The lower cannon will fire shells faster than the upper one can fire POW blocks.
Nathaniel Harris
2C0-8VN-HRF I tried to remake the stage 1-1 from SMB 2. Suggestions are welcome, it's like my 2nd level and i didn't have the first mario maker.
no I'm just really bad at the game I'm streaming me trying to beat it if you want to watch but you'll probably be filled with disappointment Stream is earlier in the thread

My two newest levels: >Dr. Z’s Haunted Mansion DQK - T5B - 3FF 3DW ghost house that focuses on the underutilized 3D World exclusive moves for pseudo platforming/timing puzzles. One specific jump is a little tricky, but I gave infinite retries for it and I try not to make things too punishing, as long as you figure out the gimmicks.
>Lost in the Well 6YS - X06 - 3KF A very short themed level where Mario has to retrieve his house keys that he accidentally dropped in the well. He needs to get them back before his favorite TV show starts or else he’ll be upset.
I hate how quick Nintendo patches fun glitches like this and they do nothing about that console crashing yoshi glitch from SMM1.
Jonathan Rivera
We need like daily challenges or something that showcase lesser played levels just anything to make people play other stuff
Jacob Bennett
What's the best way to send signals in 3D World levels? Normally I would use shells and springs or something on tracks but neither exists in 3D World
Camden Davis
Removed some of the enemies to make it less cancer and made the fireflower respawn from a pipe. Although I think its too easy now.
Andrew Sullivan
6RM-11P-NQF
It's my attempt at making a Bob-Omb Battlefield level. Since there's an objective (kill the Chain Chomp), there's no checkpoints. I will likely make a new version of this where you just collect 8 red coins in order to get to the goal and so there's checkpoints. I'll keep it up as a hard level.
Ryan Lewis
I really need at least one person to play my map so I didn't just make this for nothing!
88W-RXV-HRF
It's a cute themed level where mario is an exchange student!
Samuel Garcia
You didn't understand me friendo You shouldn't make it less hard, you should make it more fun
Henry Perez
>speedrun level is just holding right with traps along the way >every attempt gives the same time

Neat little maze, has great potential for speed runs despite the danger. Nice work man
SMB2 is my favorite game. Not just mario I mean of all time, so I'm obligated to play anything related to it. Gonna play it next
Hope you'll like it. I really hope they'll bring SMB 2 in mario maker 2. Imagine the possibilities
Caleb Wood
Tfw this game is missing like 10 enemies and 5 mechanics each style
I just want the smw wedges that let you run up walls

>Golden Coin Dunes 1F9-6KT-05G

>Race on!! Skipsqueak Galore (NEW) JLB-CCV-QBG
First one is my most popular level. I'd like some opinions from y'all, I wanna get better at this. Send me some levels too! Have fun!
If it has a clear rate of 1,5% and people cannot even get halfway through then apparently its too hard, and too many enemies can be a reason for that. I didnt realise you cannot update your courses so it had to be removed for now. I wouldnt count on me being able to make a fun level but maybe I'll try again later.
Brayden Sanders
I played the space one, the only thing I can really say about your levels is that they aren't well thought out at all. Bosses especially.

PSA: Tag translations are completely fucked "Themed" is actually "Gimmick" in Japan and "Mechanisms" in Latin America "Short and sweet" is 一発ネタ which means something like a quick joke
Luis Wood
heres a fun simple kaizo level! 4VW-XP6-F7G

>his level's stages can be seen from the previous ones or, even worse, are just separted by a single layer of blocks
big yikes, no notion of aesthetics or level design principles

>waited the whole life span for an e celeb to randomly play my level in 100 mario but never happened in mm1 >probably will never happen in mm2 and especially because they now just skip levels because of "muh rank"
Luke Reyes
>completely fucked 一発ネタ means like 'a quick go' or 'a once off' not just 'quick joke.' 'gimmick' and 'theme' serve the same purpose in the game. the translation is completely fine. you're just a fucking retard.
Landon Rivera
What does WR exactly mean? I can sorta tell it has something to do with winning or beating levels
Robert Wilson

>didnt play NSMBU >but played NSMBU Deluxe >the latter has spin jump mapped to the jump button >the former has it mapped to ZR >Mario Maker 2 only uses the former control scheme even though more people statistically played it the latter game and, if they bought MM2, are going to play the NSMBU style with the muscle memory they attained from playing NSMBU Deluxe
My muscle memory is so fucked, I instinctively press the jump button again in midair but Mario doesn't spin. Is there no way to remap it?
And its been a minute since I played 3D World but wasn't ZR ground pound and not spin? Was it changed because of the 2D plane?
The star clip for getting 500 WR would have been cool if it wasnt for shitters literally farming new super easy levels or just playing super easy endless
Leo Adams
Playing easy/comfy stages if anyone wants me to try theirs.
2C6-R86-85G I spent some time on this, would like some feed back
Brayden Perez
Most underused game styles and level background currently?
Nighttime airship makes the enemies have low gravity but mario’s physics remain unchanged. Can anything interesting be done with this?
Joseph Cruz
I'm sure some people do but as someone who autistically did the challenges on Deluxe I'm internally prone to do the spin jump with B.
Joseph Thompson
Reminder dont boo really hard stages unless they are obvious troll or have dev exit
Joseph Kelly
Hit a block with Mario and somewhere else on the stage a different block or a p-switch gets triggered Preferably with an adjustable delay, in other themes I would have Mario hit a ? block which spawn a shell that gets boosted by a spring and then travels down a little path until it hits another block
So basically Mario hitting the block is an input, the shell traveling is the processing of the input and the next block being hit is the output Of course it doesn't have to be a shell, sending off a platform on tracks can accomplish the same thing But not in 3D World
Bentley Reed
don't boo troll levels either if they're well done, only shit tier trolls deserve a boo
but do boo every stage that has a dev exit, biggest cancer right there
I'm booing whatever I want and I auto boo NSMB jap levels
Isaiah Brooks
Me again. I think you did a great job recreating the first leg of 1-1 in that style. Clever using the floortiles to show where all the "plants" are. Makes me really hopeful that we do get SMB2 as an extra theme cause I fucking love that game. Played your other stage too, which wasn't bad, I thought it was a decent challenge stage for your first attempt, hard, but not brutally so. Following i'm interested to see what you make next bro
I made a SMB2 1-1 in the second game I made in MM1, it was the 5-1 of that game and it was set up as a dream sequence after falling down a pit at the end of 4-4. The level was played straight until the end where you'd go into the eagles mouth, then a trap springs and 3 Giant Bowsers drop out of the sky and you'd have to run away until you "woke up" at the bottom of some conveyor belts, where the real world 5 starts, the Machine Zone. Tempted to do something similar again this time but I haven't decided yet/still holding out for moar upload slots.
I'll give it a shot dood
Me too I miss those little guys
I try to leave at least a comment and a like on every level I play, but there's so many that I can't always keep up since I tend to comb through everything so I can give it a fair assessment.
Maybe make a Shootem up with the clown car? Could make for a cool boss fight
Precise Platforming : QMR-JX2-R5G Short Kaizo style level with a few jumps and shell tosses, take on one of two paths to the goal. Intermediate difficulty, no difficult inputs or special techniques required, just precise jumps and timing.

Seems cool, but what happens if you hit the flying bob-omb and somehow fail to go up to the next screen?

Switch has a 30 second capture feature when you hold down the capture button. If you have an sd card inserted, it’ll be saved on there and you can export it
Jeremiah Perez
>hurr durr boo dev exits
This is the stupidest myth in mario maker. If the level can be beat normally, then dev exits are fine. Its bullshit you can't use checkpoints when uploading so what do you expect creators to do? Just because a creator cant beat his level doesnt mean he cant make a good level.
James James
Hold down the capture button to clip the last 30 secs, then upload it to twitter and from there I used a twitter to mp4 tool in order to download the mp4 which i then converted into a webm with webm for retards They actually use sprites instead of models for some reason
Landon Mitchell
What's the point of limiting the Super Ball to SMB? All it does is change your sprite to grey scale, no reason it can't be in the other themes
My mario maker 2 page where you can see your rank and all stats are all grey out. I see videos where other people can look at their stats but i cant. Why is this?
Ayden Stewart
Fresh from the oven >let it grow XLH YQL HVG Inspired by a level from Kaizo mario world 3, but don’t worry it’s not nearly as hard.
To make up for the loss of costumes and skinny mushroom maybe?
Kevin Rodriguez
i've owned the game since launch, but i've been taking my time so i only have one level so far. it's not that good, i'd go as far as to say it's objectively bad, i was just fucking around and seeing what i could do. it's got some "puzzles", so that's cool, and i also made a pretty decent boss battle.
A puzzle/adventure style map inspired by zelda games. Explore 2 hub areas and solve puzzles to progress, with some challenges and puzzles in between. It's not a particularly hard map, it just takes some exploring and thinking.
Almost a 1:1 recreation imo, close as you can get with SMW anyways. I was hoping yoshi would eat the goombrats by running into them but I blame nintendo for that. Followed.
Solid stage man. Felt like your crammed something neat into every corner of the map and the layout itself is fun to navigate, open but not really confusing. Spent a good 2 minutes trying to find the last red coin before I noticed the gust bellows at the start. Great jorb, gonna play some of your other stuff too and follow as well.
No problem man, it was fun. Go for it! Now that we have vertical stages it should be easier to recreate some of them, and I'll play em if ya post em.
>Put two springs on top of a flying muncher at the end of the level >Get to the muncher >Somehow the springs have falling side-by-side on top of the muncher There are some strange things in this game
How the fuck am I supposed to do that last jump before the first checkpoint? I assume Im supposed to somehow walljump off the pipe that just threw me out but HOW
Luke Cox
I enjoyed Golden Dunes. I would put a power up close to the bobombs, since there isn't a checkpoint.
Robert Martin
I'm never going to get over how they use sprites for NSMBU
Dylan Sanchez
Still playing comfy/easy courses. If anyone wants to shill theirs.
NEW Bowser’s Sky Thwomp Fortress! 27L-B6V-4WG >This is my longest level so far, and I definitely think I went a little bit overboard. I tried to make it feel like you were exploring a smaller scale version of the castle on the outside portion, with inside portions that were much bigger, making it almost feel like a world map. I tried my best but I’d love some criticisms for this one. Desert Chomplex F18-4VF-54G >This level isn’t extremely long, but I tried to make it a bit more challenging than my regular levels, I tried to give the level a factory look with the SMB3 desert theme. Overgrown Mushroom Cloudtops 9YP-PFS-6QF >I love the sky theme for SMW so much so I really wanted to put a lot of love into this level, I hope it turned out good. The theme is a Pirahna Plant invasion in the mushroom cloudtops.
OLD LEVELS Dry Fish Sewers FWH-10N-8WG >Pretty standard level focused around dry fish, I tried to do as much as I could with that one enemy. Bounce and Swing Jungle STM-RKD-M9G >Can’t touch the ground once you’re off it, so you have to use things like bouncers and vines to advance. Dreamy Sandship Dunes 7N5-Y6V-1TG >I feel like this one could’ve turned out better, but the idea was built around flying on a ship throughout the sky and dodging enemies.
Hey lads, I wanted to make a stage that everyone could complete and have some fun in. I also wanted to make a kart stage.
Really tried to make this one somewhat enjoyable. It should also very suitable for trying to top world record times as there are quite some places where you could optimize how fast you get through. Give it a try please? Just uploaded it.
I got to the second clear pipe. How do you do a wall jump after emerging from the clear pipe?
Anthony Moore
Add doors so you don't have to restart the level every time
Lucas Reyes
I need some feedback on my newest level:
Trick Track Tundra LYF-NDK-1SG
Any feedback is welcome, but i'm especially interested in hearing if you think the invisible vine block next to the first checkpoint is too well hidden and should be replaced with a visible one. The level is quite difficult, but experienced players shouldn't need more than a few lives to beat it.
My other levels:
Forgotten Forest 7ST-81M-3PF Explore an overgrown forest and discover the ruins of a lost civilization.
The Mirror Never Lies TKW-1MS-WJG Use the mirror to figure out location of hidden blocks.
Firefighter MDG-TBF-XQF Use a shellmet and the tailspin to destroy flames.
Bombsketball 8PM-NGH-1R7 Bounce bombs on top of your head and throw them in a hoop.

Would take far too much work to implement everything in a satisfying way, 64 graphics have not aged very well either. SMB2 is really the only game that's left as a potential style.
Juan Perry
3D World is famously very limited compared to other 3D Mario games, especially 64 No triple jumps Backflips give you almost no extra height No sideflips No diving
Brody Sanchez
Just make whatever you want. It’s your choice
Jason Cruz
Go through the entire tutorial. It's pretty good if you want to learn how to make a level feel fair and fun.
Nicholas Ward
Do you think they will add other Themes for DLC? I would love to see a Mario Galaxy Theme or even ones from other Franchises like Zelda. Ganon and Horror Kid could take the Bowsers Spaces-
Cooper Lopez
They will add Mario 2 which will add pokeys and shyguys to the other styles.
Blake Collins
>My idea of fun is a maze/labyrinth in the haunted house theme at night. Sounds alright, go ahead and do just that. Just remember to avoid the usual noob level maker mistakes >enemy spam >using hammer bros >more than 1 boss fight (if you go with 0 that's even better) >vast open areas with no indicator of where to go >leaps of faith with no indicator of where to land >mandatory hidden powerup blocks >replace the entire ground with spikes in levels that aren't kaizo
And after you complete the gameplay of your level, spent some extra time in the level maker to >improve aesthetics >playtest at different speeds >check for softlocks >polish sections that feel janky

Thank you to the user that found it. Dunno how it got by me, pre-upload jitters I guess
Here is a sky level built primarily around Hop-Chops, Twisters and cloud platforms. I'm not too confident in it, there are a few parts that feel inconsistent but so far I haven't had any strokes of genius in trying to redesign them. Feedback is appreciated.

RDM-DND-RGF "Bullet Heck" - A bullet Bill themed level to test your jumping ability
RSM-T6Y-7FF "Fun Time" - a level with two paths. The top path is harder but has a reward at the end.
1K9-57X-81G "No Shrooms" - a level where you should avoid getting big. Saw this in a MM1 video and wanted to try it out
RS7-FPQ-7PF "Accuracy Test" - A true jumping test for the hardcore
G7H-BNM-H3G "Descent into the Abyss"- A level where you must hold A to win. Inspired by Yamamura's level in story mode.
JNT-2YY-DLG "Shoot 'Em Up" More of a Bullet Hell than Bullet Heck. You ride a Clown Car and shoot down enemies while bursting through walls. It's an autoscroll like all other bullet hell games.

Can someone please play my level? I've asked several times in these threads, I've had 5 people play but probably not from here as I've had zero feedback, and nobody has finished it yet either. Don't want it lost to the abyss. It's an Expert (maybe Super Expert I don't know) puzzle level. It's themed around reflections - the course is mirrored in multiple ways. In fact looking for the odd place a reflection is wrong may lead to secrets! Mario is trapped in a spooky Hall of Mirrors! Can you escape?

Hey guys good news the "new courses" queue is coming closer and closer to catching up to real time. People made so many levels in the first week it was backlogged for ages. Right now new courses is showing stages made on July 4th. I think within some ~3 days the queue will have caught up and then your newly made courses will actually show up in new right away and you'll be able to get plays without having to shill it
Justin Cooper
I like the concept but the execution is brought down by the boo's. When I'm trying to figure out which paths are platforms are safe and which are not I don't want to have to baby sit a boo so he doesn't kill me. I'd either remove some clutter or ditch the boo's.

Thanks for the feedback. I figured it was a little too easy without the boos, you can just look at them to make them stop moving anyway, and if you end up with two on your tail just using a door or pipe will reset them to the ends. You still think I should take them out though?

No? lol The culture that surrounds Mario Maker is retarded, everyone that doesn't strive to make authentic and well designed levels is playing the wrong game. Just because retards that can't actually level design are the majority doesn't mean they're right
Nicholas Turner
I made a course on my switch account, and my roommate played it on his switch account (same switch), but he is unable to give it a star or boo it, and his completion did not count towards number of times completed, nor does it show that anybody has played it at all.
Countermeasure to Makers fucking around with their own courses winrate I would guess
Blake Lewis
I played it, pretty nice. There are a few areas where it's a little rough around the edges, like the giant red spike dudes on the mushroom platforms are out of sync, so if you fall a couple of times you have to wait around for them to sync up again. Pink coins were a nice touch.
Owen James
try this one out HLD-VG8-DLF
Gavin King
Yeah they're meant to be annoying, otherwise it's a little too easy. I'm not sure where you're getting that 4 minutes from though, it still has a 0% clear rate?
Jeremiah Ross
The base idea is nice, but you really aught to remove the boos and spikes. Having boos chase you while trying to navigate the already confusing confusing one-way maze extremely annoying. In general you don't want puzzle levels to have hazards that aren't directly related to the puzzle. Did you know that activating a second checkpoint resets the first one? If you place a checkpoints in the main and sub-worlds, the player could save their red coin progress whenever they switch areas.
Henry Fisher

A lot of people don't know how to design good levels, shocker! However suggesting that any level that isn't your standard fare is badly designed is retarded. The whole point of Mario Maker is for the community to come up with ideas and create levels that are new fresh and exciting. If you just want basic levels, then I suggest you buy new super mario bros wii u switch plus gold 2.

Treasure Hunting in the Jungle

A jungle level that can be beat in many ways. It has ton of secrets and shortcuts, and is fun to speed run.
While the level itself is relatively easy, I've hidden a room that is extremely hard to find. 3 golden letters and a number of precious gems are hidden in it. I will give 10$ worth of bitcoin (at time of sending) to the first one that find it and tell me what the 3 letters and the number of gems are. Reply in this format : ABC-X , *Bitcoin address*.
If you're not interested in the money price, don't post bitcoin address. If the price is claimed by a non bitcoin interested person, the bounty is lost.

Man that would be pretty cool, I feel like you'd have to break it into chunks though. There's so many memorable screens in MGS1, they couldn't all be done in one map. Maybe break them up into a couple levels and call them Disc 1, 2, etc. I did think about MGS myself too during the stealth mission in Story Mode.

It's just that I am more willing to tolerate mediocre stages when they are at least short. When some clown makes a clear condition stage (without checkpoints, since you can't have both) and I fail it 4 mins in I'm not gonna do it again unless the stage is fucking amazing.

Boos, Snakes, and Razors. 807-TF2-4RG
Bullets and Ballooning FW5-J45-NFF
both are pretty traditional with snake blocks, not terribly difficult but a lot of Yea Forums seems to suck at games so I dunno.

Here's probably the only level I'll make.
W2M-FM8-GPG
Mario gets a call about a broken furnace. Get down there and see what you can do about it.
There are two well hidden secrets inspired by the secrets you might find in old NES games. You will know you found it if you find something that will make the already somewhat simple level a bit easier. I don't think anyone will find them but I like to think someday some exploratory player might be rewarded.
>want to make cool story themed level >none of my setup work out >course looks like ass >try out new things >somehow end up with 10 second precision jump NSMBU speedrun instead Welp I guess at least it's a new course
>play some multiplayer versus stage >4 colored pipes, 4 times the same path >all seems alright >at the end two of the four paths don't have an exit >two of the players get to the end while two just sit there softlocked and have to wait
why?
Camden Bailey
B32-LCC-1GF Spent a good amount of time on this one. Kind of wish I utilized the sub-area more but, as of now, it feels a bit unfinished.
holy fuck son go easy on the hammer bros, they're the most annoying enemy in the game
Samuel Martin
only correct response senpai hope you boo'd that shit as well
Nicholas Russell
>SmugBoy Oh shit, I recognize you. I played one of your crappy levels earlier in the week but it looks like you've deleted it. The level honestly just isn't that fun desu and the lame trolls don't help it's case. That whole pointless key door at the end doesn't make me want to comb the level to find the dev block with the p switch for $10.
>implying thats always an option epic brainlet wojack though reddit

Oh right yeah I died a few times and took my time checking stuff as I went. It is hard though, I got a streamer playing it right now and he's screwing lol.
Ryder Fisher
This was a really great level, but is anyone willing to give hints on speedrunning it? Found the Yoshi, the P-Switch and the beanstalk, but I’m certain those aren’t all the secrets... And what is the key inside the pipe for?
Nolan Anderson
user, this is a pretty annoying level. It's difficult but not in a good way. Unless I'm missing something, I had to wait for the skull koopas to come out of the ice tunnel thing so I could fit through. Don't make people wait that long for no reason. You have way too many hammer bros just added all over the place for extra difficulty. The bowser fight is extremely lame if you lose your fireflower. I know you're supposed to try to make the icicles fall on him but can jump up to the right where the door is and just sit there forever.
I forced myself to finish it and gave you a like, but just keep some of those things in mind for your next level.
Kevin Hill
I'm not really interested in the money, but the hidden room seems fun.
Isaiah Adams
Wow, just wow. Should have made the goal to kill a bunch of koopas to get rid of the pacifist route.
Connor Powell
I have some levels to share, last one is pic related:
Bell Tree Hills [World 1-1] - (Easy difficulty) - Travel through Bell Tree Hills and see what Super Mario 3D world has to offer - ID: 04H-FB0-GLG
Skipsqueak Cave [World 1-2] (Easy difficulty) - Make your way through Skipsqueak Cave. Can you find the secret 10 coins? - QK8-1BR-2KG
Piranha Creeper Grove [Hard difficulty] - Bounce on the piranha creeper’s heads and parkour your way to the goal. - ID: 974-23K-NHG - Goombrat Jungle Bungle (Easy/Medium difficulty) (My favorite) - Inspired by the Donkey Kong Country series - ID: SSC-7Y4-TSG
Skipsqueak Switch Playground [Hard difficulty] - Test your platforming skills and parkour your way through the spike blocks and switches. - ID: 4XQ-F59-4FG
Yes, I tend to delete my unpopular shit, and try to re upload them after retouching them, maybe. You're free to have your opinion, my level got some good positive feedback, but can't please everyone. There aren't "dev" blocks, and if you're not interested in the hunt, good for you I guess. Not any you on leddit yet, we'll see. I like this level a lot and took a lot of time hiding the room, so I' made the bounty to give a kinda initiative for people to find it and see how it goes. If it fails, it fails.
Brody Watson
quick n short GP4-KQ4-QTG
Christian Gray
This level is fucked
Luis Taylor
Not very good i'm afraid. There was just too much hammer bro spam and there was no reasonable way to get past it outside of power boosting. You should also go easier with the amount of fish. The bonus minigame was nice.
In my experience, you can't please everyone all of the time so you may as well just make and keep what you personally like. If someone wants you to nuke it and redo it, fuck em.
Jackson Jones
Best girl
Eli Ramirez
Fun level. Suicide won't make it any better, we just all miss out on the future levels.
No worries man, just like the other user said you can't please everyone. I guess I'm also a little salty I died to the piranha plant in the box when it clearly said GG in coins. Still I got no fucking clue how to get to that room based on what I played. Just the two p doors(that I assumed might lead to each other) and the mysterious red pipe at the finish line.
how the fuck does the first spring jump in the last story mode level work - I never make it despite holding right the whole time and hitting the A button for the full boost
also, when you're jumping from the first area to the area with the two giant sideways thwomps and the buzzy beetle stack, how come the right solution is some weird shit where you get damaged and jump across with i-frames and not just a plain old super jump, which doesn't work
Carson Jones
Will do After i get back from the Reds game im heading to
I like every level I play from my Yea Forumsros no matter how bad. I comment if I actually like it.
Kayden Baker
If your level is actual garbage I'm not going to like it. Be happy if I don't boo it.
Jace Allen
I enjoyed the aesthetics. Liked
Luis Parker
All good user. But I was not kidding when I said extremely hard to find. It may be a bit autistic even. But I had fun routing that. And trust me, there isnt any dev route to find it : I've cleared it doing the real thing, and if there is an easier route, it's one that I didn't design, because I stress tested that shit a lot.
William Rodriguez
>give player what they want and tone down/shorten level >still doesn't like it Never make deals with the devil, he always cheats and wins.
ZeMax you fat depressing son of a bitch, I don't know how you do things in Germany but a speedrun stage where you have to stick your face in a sawblade is not fun.
>tfw someone goes through all of your levels plays, likes and leaves nice comments on them th-thanks mondo
Ryder Sanders
>playing moon rune speedrun level >dodging enemies at the speed of sound >jumping over hurdles without failure >perfect precision in every move
>playing normal level >fall into pits that don't even require half of the maximum jump distance >die to slow moving goombas, koopas and piranha plant fire balls >spaghetti everywhere
What the fuck is wrong with me? I probably have the same clear rates on super expert bullshit as on normal mode 1-1 remix levels
love you too bb hope you don't mind a little damage boost, I had to check if you kept your mushroom somehow
Juan King
School shooter: the level. USA USA USA
Daniel Allen
better yet, they don't like your level and make shitty ones themselves
Christian Powell
Eyyy no problem, I had fun. You're pretty good at creating course visuals, they all felt like real locations and were pretty fun to play for the most part, a couple enemy infested sections aside. Nothin I couldn't handle though. Following ya. Check my levels out if you got the time, I'd like to hear what ya think.
>make level that basically beats itself >still under 20% clear rate Come the h*ck on
Gabriel Perry
>vs match going at 1 FPS because of connection issues >Match finally starts >Run forward >Hammer bro spam aaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Eli Bell
Well yesterday I came across a stage that made you travel the entire full width and height of the stage in connected clear pipes. Took 8 mins. No risk of dying at all, but man.
Joseph Martinez
>Come the h*ck on woah watch your language around here son not everyone can be a pro gamer like you and beat auto levels on their first try
James Thompson
I've done that a few times. I'm not amazing at levels and if it's a good level, but too hard for me while not unfair or has cool gimmicks or design, I'll like it. Don't have to be able to beat it to see it's cool, well done, or had a lot of thought/effort into it.
Noah Davis
That was a good level, it's clear you put a lot of care into it! Spent a bit of time trying to get into Patrick's secret basement(used a spring from Spongebob's house) before I realized it was a softlock prevention system. I however would like to know the lore implications behind Patrick having the key to Squidward's house...
>some user expects likes but he has an unfinished pipe in his level

Be glad I even completed your level and didn't boo it.

Jungle Hijinx Remake of the first DKC level. Had to change it up a little obviously. V7S-2KM-6XF
Leo Flores
Another user who played the jungle treasure level here, I did manage to find some secrets Yoshi is in a hidden block above the 1st set of ? blocks near the start The P switch is found by jumping into the shell above the piranha plants, Yoshi is needed to reach it No idea about the red pipe behind the goal
Jose Nelson
Spent 2-3 hours trying to beat this I think I’m really bad
Why bother giving the Mushroom at all? You have it for like 3 seconds. You got the first clear on one of my stages so it's my job to lurk your shit and call you out.
What the fuck is up with BoomBoom? That has to be the shittiest enemy in the game. His movement pattern is absolutely retarded, and he puts spikes out at the most random intervals. Seriously is this fucker just an RNG fest or is there some shit I'm missing here?
3D world BoomBoom is not much better. Seriously, turning invisible is a dumb boring mechanic that makes absolutely no sense in Mario
Brayden Reed
In which style? He's entirely predictable and easy in SMB and SMB3 style at least, not sure about SMW and NSMB.
A lot of levels that open up and immediately have you go down a pipe often have really simple intros. Its generally just you and the pipe, and that's fine, BUT there's something really simple you can do to give your level that little bit of creative feel it needs.
You don't need to create prop art or anything. Instead, something simple like this single-screen horseshoe design is easy to make and looks so much nicer than a simple hop into a pipe. There's other things you can do here like provide power-ups or even display the mechanics that the level will be focused on. For instance, you could replace the bridge with a Swinging Claw to ensure the player knows how to operate one before beginning the actual level.
Ignore this spoiler. There is nothing here. Go away.
you need to clear the first two jumps without losing the shroom then have it for the third I figured that would be a decent challenge, maybe it could appeal to the japanese autism and get my level some (you)s from over there
Cooper Morris
played all your levels now, very nice aesthetics and quite fun. easy but that's expected of the first/second world. I like the optional red coins and other secrets alot.
John Clark
>playing Booette-poster's level and grinding the WR before he even posts it am I the best suitor for Booette in the whole world?
Cameron White
It might have something to do with one of the keys you can find in the level. You can go down in two of the seven pipes past the first checkpoint. You need a shell of some sort to collect the key
Jackson Gray
Never mind, I just figured it out. It doesn't update until you restart the game. >tfw my level has actually been doing pretty good this whole time and I thought I was a loser
Landon Carter
I found losing the shroom on the second jump is actually more efficient since you hold invulnerability into the next section. I pushed the record down pretty far but I'm curious too if it can be pushed further. I'll give it a like just to keep an eye on it.
