3 was fine, not fantastic as 1, but fine

In its morality system, where divorce is considered to be far worse action than committing genocide of an entire village, or sacrificing said actual loved one, as opposed to divorcing them, to a Chaos God as an offering in order to regaining your youth.

That, and the general lying, but that is tolerable.

Promised too much.

Lionhead went full-tilt on simplifying an already simple game.
I never played 2 because I didn't have a 360, but I played the hell out of TLC and 3 constantly treats the player like a drooling retard by comparison.
I was sad that Lionhead died before I played 3, but after the fact I can honestly say 'Good Riddance'.

Literally cannot remember anything about 3 besides being a king.
2 was the best, you really missed out.

No it wasn't fuck off 3 was the series killer.
They began to remove more and more identity of the series for shitty industrial revolution to the point bats and dogs are now main enemies.

Only LC was good

The great deceiver

It was like 6 hours long and a third of that is spent in the stupid menu

Your health is low

They were headed by a crazy man more concerned with the feelings evoked by holding hands then making a good game.

Is anniversary a remake of Lost Chapters or the original?

3.

>giving the PC a voice and scripted lines
>locking upgrades behind story progress
>all of the online shit

Hey hey people

2 > 3 >= 1

2 really was something special, and as much as I appreciate being the King in 3, it missed out on much of what made 2 feel so unique for its time

Found the sseth subscriber. Do you ever feel ashamed of pretending to know everything about things you actually know nothing about?

Hey hey hey

>cannot remember anything about 3 besides being a king.
That was the best part though, sadly no other game let you roleplay as a monarch

Imagine being this ignorant

I did enjoy it being a kid walking around my massive castle before I realised it was the most soulless thing ever.

Only like two rooms in the castle and being a king does literally nothing

Somewhere around year 3 of the 5(?) year development of the first. I remember obsessively following the development of that one and even to my fanboy kid self it looked like bullshit how the messaging changed immediately on release of morrowind.

They spent the last years trying to patch in all of molyneux's ever growing net of ideas/lies and popped out an adventure game with a pretty soundtrack, mediocre but fun combat, and none of the long-promised features developed past retard crayon scrawl level.

promising the world and then it being insanely simplistic.

Character interactions and combat were braindead. And that was just fable 1.

Fable 2 was retarded (constant breadcrumb trail, retarded morality stuff like having to pick between a random person getting fucked up or you getting fucked up, a person you never meet again, retarded ending and just retarded everything)

fable 3 somehow managed become even more braindead.

provide then, faggito

not him, but Mount & Blade comes to mind. As well as many RTS's

Microsoft and Peter.
Mostly Microsoft thou.

Remake of TLC.
The original Fable is lost to the ages unless you have an xbox original.

None of the games after the first one had the same charm.

I still can't get over the fact that after you finish the main story in 3 most of the content is just gone and you're left with your dick in your hand if you didn't finish it before you kill cthulu

>Mount & Blade
You don't really do any ruling other than fighting battles and sieges castles
>RTS
Hardly any roleplaying in then
I can also mention Crusaders Kings 2 and Pathfinder Kingmaker, but when playing then I don't feel like I doing anything meaningful as a ruler

I think even the original was mediocre, but there's just something about it that makes me can't help but love it. I never even owned the game since I didn't have an xbox, but I loved playing it when I went over to my friends place. Is it just nostalgia or is this what soul means?

Pathfinder Kingmaker, most recently.

There's no point in original fable, its just TLC but with straight up less contentt. The only good thing it has over TLC is the sword of aeons is stupidly OP but you can only use it after beating the game

It went wrong even from the first game when it abandoned ideas it obviously had, but never manifested beyond the first few hours, but the rest of the game was strong enough for it to be okay.

But everything after the first one doubled down on random fucking bits, like owning property (seriously why was THAT the thing they seemed to think the series was predicated on?)

Also oakvale max comfy.

cozy af soundtrack

I cant say since I only played Fable 2 but the game just oozes charm from the setting and voice acting right down to its item descriptions. Combat isnt the deepest but its still quite a lot of fun.

It really went wrong when Molyneux became this magical "touch this game and it becomes gold" guy.

Molyneux could have made great games with that studio. Instead, he became responsible for the entire Microsoft Games Europe branch, later all Microsoft Games project. He didn't make games anymore, he didn't direct them, he barely spent a month a year at his own studio.

Molyneux barely worked on the original Fable, he was slightly in charge of TLC, and he didn't even touch sequels at all. It's sad this man is held responsible when he really had so little to do with it.

The first game is where things started to go wrong, they had a lot of neat features and played up the players ability to choose and impact the world around them, but choices are poorly enforced, many of them achieving the same thing in terms of gameplay, but only making story elements different, and then there's the morality system itself, it's nothing more than a neat gimmick tied to the players cosmetic appearance, and it's easy to change between fully evil and fully good, with no repercussions.
World Building was kind of shite, heroes are just people who are able to use magic, but Jack of Blades was cool until he became a faggot dragon and they removed his cool as fuck voice.
The villain from Fable 2 was legitimately good, but he's no Jack of Blades.
The villain from Fable 3 was a complete and utter joke, the game was designed as a culmination of the first 2 but it failed to actually capitalize on elements from the first 2 to build a villain worthy of their position.
I wish I was the lead story director for a Fable game.

Real shame that we never got Legends, it was even finished too, and as far as visuals go it would have been solid for later Fable titles.
youtube.com/watch?v=pG0wVbwGYWo
Just let that Elfman magic soak in.

Shame at the lack of Fable 2 anniversary.

QUE?

You can still use Sword of Aeons in TLC anyway.
Or did they nerf it in TLC?
Besides, by that point you're already OP as fuck so who cares?

What is Molyneux up to these days?

WHY THE FUCK ISNT FABLE 2 PLAYABLE ON PC REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

playing 1 without even knowing about the lies, it was a pretty amazing game
if you didn't know about it you'd think they went out to make a simple but charming action RPG but then you go see that they promised outrageous things
>i am the steve jobs of gaming
>i will deceive them all

was never good, morrowind and oblivion were always better and didn't have weeb shit designs

shit looked like a Disney game

Hes still working at his new game studio, making projects for mobile/pc/switch. He barely advertises or hypes his games though, I guess Godus and No Mans Sky scared him into not doing that anymore.

What happened to the rumours of fable 4?

DON'T BELIEVE ONDORE'S LIES
