what went wrong?
Escape from Tarkov
no endgame
They work slowly and don't understand the metagame well.
To me that sounds like
>what went wrong?
>there's a "metagame"
I'm sorry you're hard of hearing, user. That must be difficult to deal with.
No battle royale mode
>grind to be able to unlock wooden doors faster instead of m203'ing your way through
Is this game ever going to be released? It feels like I've been waiting for it to come to steam for years now
It really did borrow a lot from DayZ
when they added all these animations that slowed things down too much, reminds me of rdr2 now that I think about it, its just too much
what you don't want to spend 2 minutes of precious game time refilling your 60 round mag?
No escape.
content starvation mostly
many of the quest are awfully designed
inhouse anti cheat "solution" that doesn't work, game is infested with cheaters
economy is straight fucked
the hideout patch has been teased for what, 2 years now? reaching bannerlord levels
Shit perfomance, constant stutters, hackers, poor development focus, lack of basic features, load times, inconsistent ai, and bad progression
Not sure if things have changed since I last played but you literally have zero chance against a geared player, sometimes even if you get the drop on them. A shooting game should not work like this even if there are RPG mechanics.
It's an issue of whether or not you're using shitty ammo. The truth is that armor hasn't been worth a whole lot ever since the Mosin was added because it allowed anyone to get a cheap weapon that fired top-end AP ammo (inb4 reeeing from either side of the mosin argument).
>Scavs
See me after class
Multiplayer . Thats what went wrong
Slow development.
Pay2Win Editions still exist with no way to get some of the advantages by playing.
Hideout is getting (intentionally) delayed over and over.
Adding stupid meta changes like off raid healing instead of expanding the core gameplay.
Horrible Netcode and Cheating problems.
>Adding stupid meta changes like off raid healing instead of expanding the core gameplay.
This
I don't know why they are so obsessed with making this game feel like work
I think it's supposed to be something to combat hatchetniggers.
its made by russians
Core gameplay is broken as fuck while we got pay for convenience mobile shit. The playerbase is already non-existent, theyre really trying their best to kill it
But hatchetfags haven't been the meta ever since they made the hatchet unable to OHK to the head and the mosin was introduced
By making everyones experience worse. In a game that encourages playets to hatchet, seems like quality russian design
What even is Escape From Tarkov? After all this time I still don't fully understand what it is. Is it just a DayZ-like where you wander around looking for guns and killing whoever you see for no reason? Is there a goal?
What are the reasons I would want to play this over the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games and the plethora of mods for them?
>Adding stupid meta changes like off raid healing instead of expanding the core gameplay.
I agree but what would they expand?
adding more maps and guns honestly wouldn't do much at this point
personally I want more game modes. having coop game modes would be the shit.
imagine a swarm game mode where you and 3 others defend a checkpoint against wave after wave of scavs
Not much like DayZ, everything is separated into shorter matches. Go in and loot, the extract before the time limit is up. Don't get killed or you lose all your shit.
Would be a fun positive feedback loop game if it wasn't so broken.
More game modes is the dream. I'd love to see coop as well as a more standard PVP mode with varying gamemodes for it.
Armor is either worthless or too strong.
Armor makes shotguns worthless since there is no penalty in being hit when you wear armor even though it should.
Quests are boring and not interesting.
Looting, outside of weapon crates and certain rooms that get rushed by axebois, is a waste of time.
Looting is only worth if you get a loot pinata aka a player that risks his equipment.
Bein able to lose shit means that people either use nothing at fucking all or go with 5 premades full equip in a 6 slot server.
Nothing to do after you got all quests, at which point you are rich as fuck.
Silencers WAAAAY to silent in a muh real life ""simulation"" game
Even though silencers ccost a fortune now, if you are at the point of buying them it makes not even a dent in your pocket
Muh simulation is more of a hindrance than it is good for the development.
the devs don't even understand what they or playerbase wants except for what loud assholes spam in the forums.
I had my fair share of about 100 hours in this game but I can't see how they implement a good endgame and balancing desu senpai famalam
Then what is Tarkov and why is nobody escaping?
They teased it too early. It took years for it to finally release and the hype died out, and now most people that would like to try it aren't interested enough to go through the work to download and play it as opposited to sticking to their current go-to shooter
For the most part, I agree with you. It's a shame too 'cause it doesn't seem that difficult to fix a lot of issues the game has, endgame aside.
This is honestly the most fun game to hack.
>don't want to use paypal so they forward you to a russian scam site that collects your credit card info
>full of hackers
>buggy out the ass, can still glitch through walls and NPCs will still freeze up and let you kill them
>fire 6000 shots into someone's head then they spin around and kill you in a hit because they have BR ping
>pay-for-space
>no content
>no updates
this
buying cheats is for losers tho
making your own is where its at
It wasn't a single player STALKER type game
It was a bad idea from the beginning
Should have been a coop stalker type game.
Its a shame, because I really like the basic gameplay.
Good idea, terrible execution
