The difference between control schemes for fighters is not that large compared to the absolutely massive difference in shooters, to some extent it is even down to personal preference
They have the same resources as any other schmuck to go out and buy a keyboard and mouse if for some reason they don't already own one. People buy consoles for convenience, so telling them to get a PC and the game for their platform is even more of an extreme than telling the people without a mouse and keyboard to adapt.

The keyboard really gives you a huge advantage. I love playing some FPSes on my PS4 just to avoid the insane skill level PC FPSes are at. When you get older playing with M&KB all day gets straining.
I understand the logic of your idea, but because of the inherent gameplay advantage M&KB gives to many competitive games it's better off kept out of console gaming.

Obviously not, it'd be trivial to make M+KB not work by just not implementing it in the console version.
M+KB isn't an unfair advantage on PC because everyone who owns a PC is guaranteed to have them. Or has a laptop trackpad but those people can fuck themselves. It IS an advantage on console, because they're not a requirement for the console to work. Everyone buying it on console is expecting other users to have a controller.
It 100% depends on the game.
Of course something like Quake or Counter strike is going to have extreme benefits from KBM, but with something slowed down and actually designed for controller in mind, there are going to be diminishing returns to the point where I could see controller players (with aim assist) beating KBM players in something like Halo or Gears of War

dude, i am both PC and PS fag, i played on ps1 since i was 3, had ps 1 2 3 4 and i will buy the ps5 too, but im gonna fucking say you, FPS'S fucking suck on consoles no matter what shit you do to enchance it, the mouse and keyboard is fucking crucial for it, if you wanna play on console take a game that is better with controller, for example soul series, driving games, platformers are 50/50 cause it depends on you preffering keyboard over pad. but it boils down to FPS suck on consoles
KBM with aim assist would make it harder though. If you want to turn on magnetism and acceleration on the KBM, that would make them disadvantaged. Aim assist is designed for controllers to make it easier with a stick specifically.
