The point is that Pokemon fans are fed up with Gamefreak's bullshit
When you piss off a fanbase as big and dedicated as Pokemon's, its not just gonna go away especially when they already have had built up frustration for nearly a decade by now especially when the standards for the biggest fucking franchise on Earth have been rising so high yet Game Freak delivers so little.
Hell, using the "high quality animations" argument is one of the most asinine decisions Masuda could've stated because people will just point to the lazily rehashed battle animations they have been using since X & Y and comparing them to Stadium and Battle Revolution.
Why?
Because they did that shit even before this Dex controversy even started and using that excuse only drew more attention to it.

Also, the issue with pokemon S&S is not only the national dex, national dex is just what just the straw that has broken the camel's back.
The real issue is that we're getting a game that doesn't looks better than the 3ds games on a console that runs Zelda BotW, Xenoblade 2 or any other Switch RPG really.
