A lot of stages in this game were great to play on either side, but Mos Eisley takes the cake. A hundred little nooks and crannies and spots to find and use. High up vantage points and longs corridors to snipe from. Obscured corners and doorways to stealth around. Well-placed sentry points to defend or take out. I really could, did, would, and will play just this map for hours. Then there's all the others and the ones modded in later.

The ones all the old defunct clans made and used are pure gold. This one had a whole waterpark, life size chessboard, twi lek stripper bar, tv with a whole bunch of outdated memes, jail, arena with constant AI battles, and player usable segways to get around the whole complex. I can only imagine how fun it would fun it would have been with a whole server of people fucking around in it.

Again, almost every level in this game is great. I think Neversoft nailed blurring line between realistic levels and fantastical level design, but Manhattan is the most fun to simply skate around for me. There are dozens of unique lines and gaps that all interweave so neatly; so many gaps seem obvious but fulfilling once you find them; and each section of the level is distinct in what you can do there while not feeling like transitioning between WoW zones to get from one to another.
And as far as DDG and Google are concerned at least, there are almost no pictures of this level anywhere on the internet, which seems weird to me. Maybe I didn't search right.

L4D1 has a more "end of the world vibe" so it's much darker, and the HUD reflects that as well
L4D2 has a much more of an "infection" vibe, so the HUD reflects that along with the gameplay. The world isn't inherently as fucked in L4D2 as it seemed in 1, so the game is much brighter as a result.

It's intended to do that. The shadows on everything imply something mysterious and scary going on. It's this feeling that keeps you on your toes a lot in between more bright worlds, as if to remind you that the main plot is serious.
