WAR is interesting now that there's no TP issues, but the Savage min/maxers think it's terrible because it's slightly less DPS now than the other non-DPS tanks. Big fucking whoop.
DRK is a pain in the ass to heal, though I honestly don't know how much they've changed rotationwise in ShB yet now that they don't have to spam that one skill.

Healer is my main class so I might just go with that then to help my bros out.

PLD is good, has a self heal, simple to use ultimate defensive CD with no bullshit attached, and does decent damage. Has a garbage class storyline though.
I don't play DRK but I heard they're pretty annoyed with the changes but that can change over time. Is still decent enough from what I've seen people play them. I do think DRK has the strongest story of all the classes.

Don't listen to that faggot, career WHM here and DRKs are the fucking hardest to heal because they outheal dmg, not mitigate it. I regularly got less DPS time when healing DRKs than I ever did with WAR/PLD, and so far GNB too.

Play tank, basically all you need to know about any fight is the tankbuster name, whether you need to swap afterwards, grabbing add spawns and cheesing group mechanics with your invuln

DRK player here, former is right. We have TBN up every few seconds and enough mitigation to last big pulls. TBN spamming is what most new DRKs are missing since they're not used to using it but it is the key to DRK's tanking.

Pretty much. The tooltip is wrong, it says it gives you Dark Arts if it breaks but what it actually does if give you a "free" Edge or Flood. So if you know you're going to eat a buster or are just in the middle of a massive pull it's better to spend the mana on TBN because you're getting your Edge/Flood anyway and are getting a massive shield on top of it. TBN invalidates every tank buster in the game at the moment and using it with your other defensives during big pulls makes you sturdy as hell. I'd say Gunbreaker and Warrior feel the squishiest as far as big pulls go, with both Paladin and Dark Knight handling them fine.

Just don't rush it. Enjoy the ride because it gets super fucking good towards the end. Unless you skip the story because if that's the case then die

Most DRKs didn't know what to do before that, it's not that DRK itself is bad, it's that most people don't have a fucking clue how to play it and never learn. I comm the few I see that do play right, just like the very rare DRG that doesn't die at least once or runs in front of the boss in the fight.

If you know Titania it's easier. You can do Innocence blind without learning shit where as you actually have to learn Titania, but once you understand Titania the fight gives you so much room for error. Innocence is all execution, if your fundamentals are good then you can auto pilot.

The side quests look juicy but inefficient. I don't mind taking a while to get where I need, but this time I'm right when the train apparently starts getting crazy, and I need it in my life right the FUCK now.

I think this is meant to set us up either for the post patch or even the next expac. Elidibus DOES have a Warrior of Light on hand in the form of Unukalhai. While the thirteenth was completely consumed, it was made clear that there is still life there and people being born, it's just completely overrun by Fucking Daemons. So I think this is going to catapult us into saving the Thirteenth, because that's what happened last time.

classes (THM in this case) vs. jobs (BLM) are a stupid holdover from 1.0 that make no sense; effectively the upgrade treats your job as a different class altogether, so it fucks up your hotbars and shit. There's one thing that doesn't quite make any sense to me. Emet-Selch also admitted to founding the Allagan Empire, right? Which means he had to be Xande. So did we then meet him before as Xande in Sircus Tower, or what? And if so, Xande seemed pretty fucking unhinged and serious. Was it really just an elaborate as fuck act, or is this a plothole, or am I just totally misunderstanding things?

I think picking Y'shtola out of the lifestream was the first real signal we got as to just how powerful Emet really is, the elementals (cognizant lumps of pure aether) are strong enough to keep Gridania under total lock and key until Bahamut fucks everything up and he did it even more easily than they could

the ascians helped xande capture bahamut and slam him in dalamud which would be used for the 7th calamity and also caused the fourth calamity by using it to force the voidgate open

Hydaelyn's not the villain. She's only doing what she was explicitly summoned to do, and that's to keep Zodiark shackled down.

The ones that who summoned her aren't the villains because they're right in that having a supreme overgod running the civilization of a bunch of demi-god creators is a disaster waiting to happen.

Zodiark isn't a villain because like Hydaelyn, he's only doing what he was summoned to do.

The Ascians who summoned him aren't villains because by Emet's own admission, Zodiark was the Hail Mary when they exhausted literally every other option besides dying.
