I hope the difficulty has a reasonable progression. In Sekiro from about Owl 1 through Isshin all the fights felt about the same other than DoH. So far it looks like Oliver is the first boss which makes sense since he's a scrub and at some point there will be a flashback for Queen's Knight then Blade Bearer, Miku, and the Successors will fill in everything else.

Based on the network test, combat-wise won't be as fluid as Sekiro but it will be a solid game nevertheless.

Played the Network Test. I enjoyed it but it had some glaring problems. Most notably the framerate. I think it has potential but will be nothing more than a passing fancy at best. Character creator is god tier though.

They have been improving a lot since LotF (which is also getting a sequel).

The 9 mins trailer we've seen of The Surge 2 pretty much shows a lot of improvement over the movement speed of your character and yes, it's pretty on pair with BB. And there's a mensseging system for you to leave messages to other players like in the Souls series. I'm pretty hyped for that game.

Also it got one thing CV won't, actual architecture with destructible pieces. The world of Code Vein is mostly flat, and can't jump into things.

At least Surge 2 is showing improvement. Code Vein had zero improvement since the devs worked on GE3 instead during that whole 8 month absence.

It's pretty ironic that the world of Code Vein is mostly flat. Considering the female characters aren't.

Because GE is mostly flat too. The thing with Jap devs is that you only need to check the other games in their portfolio to know what kind of games they're making next.
This game was never going to be as good as a Fromsoft game.

To be honest, it doesn't even need to be something along the lines as a Fromsoft game. I enjoy Ys VIII and Code Vein already looks like it has a better combat system than that.

Lets be honest here: it doesn't matter how good The Surge 2 ends being, or how good Code Vein could be if the developers polished it more, even if both games were legit masterpieces at the end of the day the Soulsborne fanbase would still spit on them like they do with every game that isn't Demon's Souls, pre-lordvessel Dark Souls and Bloodborne, calling them absolute garbage and raiding Metacritic / Steam reviews.

If you're so excited for The Surge 2 you better buy it, user! That game will need all the support it can get!

From Software's games are solid enough on their own to not need something like an expensive, super famous western writer to carry their games, but they still did it.

The problem with Surge 2 as well with CV is that the movement is so floaty. Especially in Surge 2, despite being more realistic looking the movement still feels like youre playing an MMO.
