What the fuck happened?
What the fuck happened?
Kenji Inafune the so called "father of mega man" is a hack
This.
/thread
Inafune is a hack. Also it's very clear keiji was making into creates operate out of their wheelhouse, and deep silver wasn't helping. Shit on inti all you like but I refuse to believe the guys behind megaman zero, zx, and fucking azure striker gunvolt fucked the game up that hard on their own. Huge fan of the apologists saying shit like "the promotional 2d art wasn't supposed to be what the game ended up looking like, it was always supposed to look like ugly 2.5d shit"
Fuck Keiji Inafune the poll rigging piece of shit. It's like Game Grumps' WAAAAVE LASER! shit but not in a sarcastic fashion.
Conman hired Init Creates who does fine with very small 2d games, but a game light Mighty no9 dispite is relitivly small scope was already WAY beyond the dev's capabilities.
So the development was a shit show. Devs were learning the tools and how to program in 3d while during development. Talk is that they didn't know how to centrally sync their work so they passed thumbdrives around the office to trade files and would often end up with now incompatible assets to the current code base, etc, thus requiring them to do it again. Also Init Creates likes to hire fresh out of school people on the cheap, so they were using it's development to learn how to even dev to begin with.
Iga almost fell for the same trap, but he was smart enough to see things were a shit show for Bloodstained and fired Init Creates and thus he (and Wayforward) saved that project
Thats not even to start with the handling of the community relations....
Keiji-san sold an idea, not a game, his idea was worth 4.5 millions us dollars, the game barely one thousand. That is why I called the company Comcept!
Koji Igarashi is a liar and a snake. His game isn't worth 10 bucks.
The ridiculous amount of consoles it was supposed to release on was probably a contributor. Remember how it was promised that the game would be released on previous gen consoles, current gen consoles, PC, and the 3DS and Vita?
So what's the full story behind all this?
Inafune is a hack that used his unearned reputation to cash in. Red Ash is never coming out, you were scammed.
youtu.be
This is a nice recap
Doesn't really lay into Inafune enough though
I'm shocked that the Red Ash animation (pilot) came out.
It was funny when it did since there was zero lead up and no announcement when it did, was just pushed out probably to meet contract obligations and never spoken of again
Link for those do didn't realize it existed
youtube.com
what the fuck didn't happen?
The games not good, pure and simple, they tried to program the game for every current platform, no one tested the game, no one tested the servers, no one supervised the community, no one asked the #1 question "why this?". The entire game development felt like a staff of 5 just burnt out and just pushed out a product while doing as little work as possible
>westcoast
I don't think people there dress like that.
Inafune was an artist that got promoted into management, he never touched the actual game part of the game. The only surprise was that the art was so shit, and some of that can be pinned on budget retardation.
It was an alright game, but I dropped it because I couldn't beat the sniper level without dying and there are no fucking checkpoints. I don’t know why they thought that was a good idea. Felt like a decent game up until then. I got it for free so I can’t complain too much. Wouldn’t buy a sequel though
This is gonna be the most obscure shit in 30 years
SJWs and West cucks

thank you con man
And for the matter being, in this next video, it's mentioned that nearly half of the funds went into Kickstarter feeds, rather than the actual development: youtube.com
Iga said it best. Inafune was a business man, not a game designer.
That was Kamiya, not IGA.
It would be really fucking ironic if Iga said that considering he did something extremely similar
This
Iga has made (and is still making) competent games. He knows how to creatively see a project through to conclusion and delivers quality.
Inafune is a producer slash cartoonist who attained clout and climbed the corporate ladder by associating with people much, much more talented than he is. When left to his own devices and given the freedom to choose his own projects/teams, he lost Capcom many, many millions, and left the company facing financial difficulties.
meant for
Inafune had plans in place for MN9 to have a bunch of merchandise and a cartoon/anime before the game was even released. It was clear at that point the guy cared more about making money off a brand than making a competent game.
>It would be really fucking ironic if Iga said that considering he did something extremely similar
Except Iga actually is a game designer unlike Inafune and knew to fire Inti Creates to save his project when he knew that it wasn't going to pan out with them as the dev.
Say what you will about Bloodstained, the game is selling and reviewing well.
We were all anime fans on prom night.
>still no Mn9 cartoon show
Still waiting for the promised Vita version..
I am convinced that commercial was deliberate sabotage
anyone got a clip of that time someone in a chat called inafune a hack while he was on a stream
Inafune took the dosh and goodwill generated in the KS and tried to turn MN9 into a franchise before even making it a game. He also got caught trying to generate more money with a stretch goal for a DLC character, but when people rebuffed the goal and the character, surprise surprise, Ray's in the game anyway, proving the character was completed before he asked for more money.
Don't forget how she was supposed to have her own character arc of going from being a condescending prig to a genuine supporter and then in the final game she's just a static, monotone support character.
It would not surprise me that it ends up as "lost media" since I doubt no one cares to make copies o it. This reupload to youtube is the only stream of it that I'm aware of. Its already right now borderline lost media.
Iga do what Inafune don't baby
The biggest reason I think is the amount of ports they tried to make. They got way more than they wanted, so they got overconfident, and thus failed
Somebody should bring this to the attention of the guys at the Lost Media wiki, before it gets taken down or something.
>What the fuck happened?
From what I remember:
>mismanagement of absolutely everything
>trying to put the game on literally everything, which ended up gimping every version of the game
>a cartoon that went nowhere
>a second kickstarter for a completely separate project
>shady deals with other companies
>pr disaster after pr fucking disaster
>complete radio silence from the company for months on end
>anime fan on prom night
A bunch of things.
>Inafune assumed that games pop out of nowhere and that coders and programmers weren't important compared to the "idea guys" and artists
>Inafune planned a giant media empire with sequels, spin-offs, merchandise, animes, movies and more before the first game was complete
>Inafune built a whole game studio of people whose only job was to think up ideas, and their only successful game had major Sony backing and was outright made by Sony Japan Studios while they twiddled their thumbs
>like Bloodstained they tried to cheap out on the graphics by using 2.5D instead of 2D, but hired a company that cannot into 2.5D and mostly made sprite-based 2D games which led to disastrous results

It's both on Nyaa and AB
Did some poking around, looks like it did get uploaded to Archive.

lol
Inafune is a business man. Not a developer.
inti creates didn't make most of the game, comcept did.
Red and Green happened.
stretch goals killed the game. they should have just chopped them out. no one would have cared if the game wasn't on last gen consoles or didn't have an online mode.
Does Comcept even have programmers? I think the whole thing was made by Inti, they just suck at using Unreal.
Inafune is a fraud
It's kinda amazing that Capcom manages to survive and weather the storm even when some of the core members have gone.
