What is the most mediocre game you can think of, Yea Forums?
New Super Mario Bros 2
The game you like the most
the newest Mario Party game seemed absolutely forgettable and low effort, but I could be wrong since I didn't play it
Anything nintendo. Their games are for children I get out but come on, include something original or interesting.
any Far Cry
days gone
Mario Party fag here. Game still has good minigames that make great use of the Joycons in various ways or are just solid, fun concepts. It's everything else that's lacking. Weak replayability from everything relating to side content, and the main part of the game, the boards, are half assed & there's only 4 of them. Online is also a disappointing disaster.
I guess the sum adds up to mediocre but I moreso keep that for the most unambitious, average across the board titles. Super has some good & bad to it with the bad outweighing the good to me.
Red and Blue*
mgs2
At least it had boards instead of putting everyone in a fucking car
Feed and Sneed*
>it’s good if you spend more than full price on all the expansions.
>there’s always something to do each week
Fuck and Suck*
Pretty much every other NSMB honestly. There's so little innovation. I welcome it in Mario Maker though so we can have wall jumping without the limitations 3DW has.
Terraria
Doom.
Even back then I couldn't understand what was the hype about it.
only good answer
minecraft
I think other NSMB titles get just a slight pass for not pretending to have something that would make them stand out, and that said something only serves to make the game & its level design more shallow in a series with already very basic level design.
I hate this stupid game
Red dead 2
Starbound manages to be worse
Borderlands is mediocre.
Destiny 2 is a shitshow. They literally took all the improvements they made to Destiny and threw them out just to start over.
It's pretty much the exact same game as the first. Same abilities, same dimension gimmick, mostly the same assets. Could have been so much more, I loved the first game but I didn't even bother finishing this one.
Enter the Matrix
White Knight Chronicles
Drawn to Life
>Enter the Matrix
I was 12 when that came out and I remember it being the most kick ass game I played on PS2 at the time. Reeks of something that would suck ass if I went to replay it though.
but which one is the most mediocre, user
Kingdoms of Amalur
well there's pic related
It's not the worst. But it's not great.
Any liscened platinum game. Korra, Transformers, etc.
I Am Setsuna. It's not bad, but it's not good, either. The music was nice.
The actual NSMB was a literal breath of fresh air because, not including literal remakes, there was no new 2D Mario platforming to be had since Mario World.
Imagine living in that world and suddenly getting NSMB.
topkek
100% this.
I mean, I enjoyed far cry 5, but the whole series is just so generic
Also fallout is the most overrated series I’ve ever seen. Literally a snoozefest
Hard agree. Respect to early Mario, Pokemon, and Zelda games for establishing lasting franchises, but Nintendo are fucking retards for keeping it going and making baby games for all eternity, long after the hardcore fans have grown up and wanted something more challenging.
That's hard.
Something like CoD, Resident Evil, Dmc.
First thought was mgs, but I don't think it applies.
Why is it that in the 80s and 90s making a game for children didn't automatically mean making it piss easy with everything worth seeing pointed out as obviously as possible?
Yeah Starbound isn't even mediocre
Same reason that all the "kids' shows" nowadays are braindead bullshit like Teen Titans GO! or Uncle Grandpa. Shows that were intelligently-written while still being technically made for kids were wildly successful, and imitators have tried to copy that with brighter colors and shittier writing. The years went by, and the intelligence behind the designs disappeared, in accordance with the increased corporatization of everything, disallowing creators from being creative and mature.
Because they set out to make games, not entertain children.
>this absolute level of nostalgia glasses
There have always been smart kids' shows and dumb kids' shows. To pretend otherwise is nostalgiafagging of the highest order. You'd be correct if you said the lowest common denominator is getting worse, and the average is getting worse, though.
Flash has contributed massively to the downfall of animation.
GTA.
the first episode was outright bad and the second was just "ok," I feel if they made another one it might have fixed all prior issues
unbased, I think it's better in almost every regard to the first and the soundtrack is top tier
Nigger and Trigger
destiny 2.
I feel ashamed of having invested so much time in it considering how even after all the big improvements they made since launch it's still only an 'ok' game at best with lame activities and a broken progression system that relies on making a number go up. Everytime I play it I imagine how much better the game could be, how it has so many different mechanics that could be expanded upon to add tons of depth and difficulty.
Halo 4.
You're saying that as if Nintendo's games aren't a lot harder than what other major companies are putting out. Not including multi-player (since the challenge comes from other people), Nintendo has consistently harder games than the competition.
Sony, Microsoft, Capcom, Blizzard, EA, Ubisoft, Konami, and Square haven't put out anything nearly as hard as Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, for example, in at least a decade.
Terraria is the best game ever made
Pretty much any Far Cry game that isnt 2 or Blood Dragon
He's right. Where are the "smart" kids shows nowadays? The closest we had was Adventure Time, but that went to shit 5 years ago and ended last year. Ever since like 2005, we haven't had a consistently good cartoon meant for all ages instead of just children.
Anime doesn't count, even though it's been consistently superior to cartoons for the past 2 decades.
wouldn't the best game technically be mediocre though? it barely has any faults so it'll just be uniteresting, therefore bland, and then people won't like it as much once they realize it
Terraria has a couple of faults, but it's so good I can just ignore them entirely.
>Terraria is the best game
>Okay but it's not that great
>It's still good though
Every time
I agree but... What about Avatar?
>things can only be good if they are bad
seriously what was the point of that earlier post
terraria's a good ass game
I wouldn't consider that really aimed at children. It was always more of a "teen" show.
Terraria is the best game ever made.
far cry 2 is patrician
what was wrong with drawn to life
Who would have guessed an fps on the ds would suck. wooooooow
