Fallout 4 is fun.

Fallout 4 and Skyrim are still the best games out simply because of mods. Sure other games have better animations, more fluid gameplay. But tell me this what other games give you that much control ? Sure if you are some modding normie the game is empty and boring but once you learn how to make your own stuff and modify existing shit. The modding these two games become a hobby itself compared to other shit. Then you play other games and think man look at all these restrictions everywhere and then go back to Skyrim/Fallout.

Bethesda games are just fun to mod in general, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve modded fallout 3 to hell and back seeing what I can get away with only to maybe play it for a few hours and get bored then start missing again

Not if you install mods that add in animals, more plants, trees, NPCs, etc

True. My issue with skyrim was never the graphics or really even the clunky combat.
The empty. Boring world with ever repeating dialogue was my issue. Every city was boring. The wilderness was boring. The story was so boring too.

No amount of immersion mods and such made me finish the game.

I think this is partly why 76 doesn’t appeal to many people. That and the fucking spaghetti they used to code with, you actually have to go and seek the world and find something to do. The hand holding stops the second you leave the vault
