how the fuck
If you're still looking for Mecha games, here's 10 lesser known gems on sale you guys may enjoy; most of which have gotten recent updates:
>Hardcore Mecha ($16.99 usd)
It's a 2D platformer shoot-em-up that has finally received a long awaited translation and release. Sadly a lot of the sizable cast is behind backer codes you have to use to unlock the mechs. That are only usable in vs multiplayer. The promised modes that are missing are coming according to devs at least, but despite the hiccups it's still pretty great.
store.steampowered.com
>Zone of the Enders the 2nd Runner: MARS ($14.99)
Yes, ZoE is actually on Steam. It's a 4k port that offers a good blend of melee and ranged combat in a tight story driven chuuni package. Also has barebones VR support for a cockpit view. The game has general audio problems such as it totally dropping out at times and a bad english VO with no Japanese option. The controls can be a pain, but if you want a nostalgia trip it's decent.
store.steampowered.com
>Project Nimbus ($14.99)
A stylish high speed anime influenced mecha game with some minor elements of bullet hell. Very fast and frantic, but the lack of customization options is something of a downer. The game originally launched 5 years ago, but the devs still provide updates from time to time.
store.steampowered.com
>Brigador ($12.99)
A roguelike hotline miami type affair of explosive violence and solid world building with mechs and other vehicles you use to blow up enemies and the environment to your advantage. The gameplay is good, but the lore is what makes it. Aiming can be a pain in the ass sometimes.
store.steampowered.com
>Garrison: Archangel ($11.99)
Basically the unintentional spiritual successor to Custom Robo with quite a wide selection of customization options and tech to learn. It's an early access game and the online multiplayer is regrettably somewhat buggy and empty as a result. The offline gameplay takes some getting used to, but it shines in duels once it clicks. The team is very active and apparently working on a story mode for more single player content. Also its got a free demo (a little outdated for what's in the game now though).
store.steampowered.com
>War Tech Fighters ($9.99)
It's a slightly more simplistic version of Project Nimbus with a bit more focus on melee elements more or less. Customization is sort of lacking here too, but for a grand scale mech warfare game with some great graphics you could do a lot worse. Devs are still decently active with QOL updates.
store.steampowered.com
>Damascus Gear Operation Tokyo & Osaka ($7.49/$13.19)
A diablo-like mecha game with some decent customization to it and a passable story. Combat can be kind of repetitive and at it's core it's a pretty simple game despite its customization options. Has a sequel now with some notable improvements if you want to spend a bit more.
store.steampowered.com
store.steampowered.com
>Into the Breach ($7.49)
A good turn based strategy game with a mech theme from the team that brought you FTL. If you enjoyed that you'll probably like this. Has some upgrade and customization options that can lead to interesting strategies. Protip: Don't mess up.
store.steampowered.com
Endless Space Collection for $0.99?
>Mecha Ace ($3.89)
A text based adventure; game dev simulator Yea Forums's favorite. A somewhat liniar story with a few branches and a skill system, but your choices have more impact than mass effect at least. If you're a fan of old school text adventures it may be worth a look. It's got a free demo as well and what looks to be a VR focused tie-in in development.
store.steampowered.com
>KO Mech ($0.49)
A simple platformer type game with the gimmick of flinging enemies into one another. Somewhat short, but pretty addictive. Also it's made by someone who shitposts on Yea Forums and for half a buck it's worth selling a few cards and picking up for the absurdly good cost to entertainment ratio. No reason not to get it at this price. Character can be hard to see at times however and some may find the controls odd.

[also Metal Wolf Chaos releases on Aug 6, 2019]
Happy July 4th!

Is three kingdoms any good?
I've never played a total war game before but three kingdoms looks like it might be good
I'd buy just Burnout Paradise and Hot Pursuit is its cheaper
Cdkeys. com has in on -70%
cdkeys.com
It gets very repetitive
I'd recommend shogun 2 and the Warhammer titles if you're new to the franchise.
>buying from Russian resellers
Fucking stupid. That's like paying someone to shoplift for you. Might as well just pirate.
thoughts?
>Sunless Sea
Civ VI + creamapi still working?
its on sale -75%
what? I liked the Freddi Fish games when I was a kid.
I think what you meant to say was sunless sea is an excellent game
I'm not reacting to your dumb meme pick
Just telling you that Sunless Sea sucks, try Cultist Simulator instead of it
Hey there

Is Baba Is You enjoyable or will I just get filtered and never touch it again?
Are the Baldurs Gate Enhanced Editions worth trying? I remember reading a few things were changed in the new EE releases. Is it possible to play the game in its original form in the EE release? It's 2 in particular I want to play through.
Yes to both.
Also get Environmental Station Alpha. It may look like generic indie garbage but it's actually really damn good.
I have baba sitting on my pc, sometimes I randomly open it, solve the puzzle I got stuck at last time, and then forget about it for a while
Don't buy cave story +
Games I habitually shill:
Iconoclasts ($11.99)
2064: Read Only Memories ($9.99)
Yoku's Island Express ($9.99)
Thimbleweed Park ($9.99)
Hollow Knight ($8.99??? How do you not already have this)
Baba is great but I like to play it while commuting where being stuck on a puzzle for an hour is actually nice.
I have $1.71 in my steam wallet, what do I buy?
He'll be fine. Truck only moves when Keke does. Besides, Keke isn't You, so he won't die.
A bullet, you cancerous frog faggot.
sell some cards and buy crimzon clover
the stalin subway (€ 0.39)
i'm also new to the franchise, bought it on the first day of the sale. it's good
Hylics
Sunless Sea is fun the first few failed runs when you're experiencing stuff for the first time but quickly becomes a boring slog once you realize you'll be running fetch quests for most of the game. Just linear "go from point A to point B" sort of shit with very little to do on the way since combat is completely braindead and there's actually nothing threatening on the sea that can't be simply avoided. Upgrades and new ships don't feel rewarding either for that reason, and trading is also completely unviable for most of the game due to ridiculously low pricing differences and small cargo hold on most ships that can barely hold a few trinkets + fuel and supplies. Most of the game you're making money and extra fuel by turning in port reports or intel to admiralty, which again is just a one sort of repeatable fetch quest that forces you to return to starting port.
The only good part about the game is the text adventures, but again they too become repetitive on your future runs since they don't really have that much variation in terms of branching plot decisions.
Honestly i got 47eu and dont know what to buy. I think i got what i want.
Any suggestions except for indie games pl0x.
sleeping dogs is 1.99€ if someone still hasn't picked it up yet
MEANDERS is a nice puzzle platformer for 89 cents
I bought Sleeping Dogs years ago, still haven't played it. Is it worth buying DE assuming I'm going to play it right now?
tfw bought it for 5 burgers years ago and never played it as well
Thanks for making my dull lazy life easier with those lists
Thoughts on the cart? I like crpgs, srpgs/tactics, roguelikes. Been eyeing Slay the Spire for awhile and it finally seems to be at a good price. I also like spending a few dollars each sale on some extra cheap games (
>srpgs/tactics, roguelikes
into the breach
Alright boys, I'm poor as fuck but got $5 to spend on a game. What do I get?
pirate it
are there LITERALLY any soulslikes that don't suck? i bought salt&sanctuary and i cannot believe a game like that is sitting on overwhelmingly positive
What do you like?
>they'll steal your info!!!
You have no idea how these sites work do you? Go keep reading Kotaku you gullible retard.
dark souls 3 III deluxe edition
I hear it gets repetitive, is that true? The maps look pretty small and I worry about being confined to similar moves or something.
>getting banned from redeeming stolen russian keys
no thanks
g-guys...?
This is probably the most retarded post on Yea Forums
i got 70 hours out of it. there are different squads that force you to change your playstyle.
cite 3 times that's happened
it's just rumors made by devs because they know they can't ban keys willy nilly or some legit customers will slip through and raise hell
Hey Mechanon, I got this recommended to me and I think it's something you should look at:
store.steampowered.com
It's some sort of weird WipeOut + Armored Core thing, a racing game with mechs that you customize. There doesn't seem to be a lot of animation, the mechs just kind of move forward and shoot their weapons, but it looks worthwhile for $8.99
Dope, sounds good.
it's repetitive but not in the way you'd think. your moveset varies significantly and can change through the game, it's just the shitty situations the game throws at you starts to get stale. i like winning with variety but i do like to lose with variety as well
>le birb XD
at least some justice has been done pig bros
t.MercuryStudio
Are there any decent games that are focused on Dwarves on sale?
Anachronox
Nah, it just came up recommended when I added KO Mech to my cart. I noticed he's been adding to his list so I mentioned it. I have no clue if it's any good.
Just ignore the children. Grey sites are great for good deals. Mostly resellers who buy games on sale and sell them when the discount ends.
got 40€ in my steam wallet, cant decide between asscreed odyssey and mordhau
if asscreed, should i get gold edition for dlc or should i get the base and put out extra 15€ for modhau?
Any genre? Or just playing dorfs?
Deep Rock Galactic is on sale
anyone wanna buy my gay neet ass a game?
steamcommunity.com
Shall I, lads?
Any genre, and thanks. I'll check it out.
Can anyone recommend me some good souls-like games? Some good 3D souls-likes?
Why not cave story? I usually only see it being described with positivity.
These all seem like real solid run & guns. I've already got my cart planned out but I'll Wishlist this for future consideration.
Any great 3d games that can run on a potato pc (intel integrated graphics)? I usually only buy indies for that reason.
Code Vein, soon!
How's Rise of the Argonauts?
Lovely Planet is pretty good, watch some gameplay to get an idea
How's Titan Quest?
eurgh if it's the game i'm thinking of it starts off semi-promising and then just kinda falls to shit after a couple hours
it was ages ago though and i cannot remember precisely what the issue was but it left a seriously bad taste.
Honestly I don't find it very enjoyable. Maybe it's just because I'm too retarded for puzzle games of that nature but I feel like I'm just bruteforcing every solution, basically trying every combination until I find something that works and you kind of have to since new tiles appear that aren't explained or introduced properly so you have to try out every synergy etc yourself.
Best diablolike including diablo
fuck grimdawnfags
seconding this
sequel soon baybay
Wow that good? I need a mythology game to scratch an itch. Is it hard to learn? Never played a diablolike or diablo.
none of those games are hard to learn at all
>buy a bunch of new games
>end up playing a game I've had for years but never touched before
>Is it hard to learn?
Not at all, user. It's a bit dated, considering it's a fucking old game, but nothing that would prevent you from enjoying it
Is Insurgency Sandstorm mic-heavy? Can I still have a good time without using one?
And how does respawning work? I've watched 4 gameplay videos and I'm still confused.
I buy a bunch of new games then go back to playing CSGO which I already have 5k+ hours in. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Do you think I'm better off starting with a game like Divinity OS?
have you tried Nioh?
Just get Postal 2 or play Warframe
Any jRPGs worth getting on discount? I already have Shining Resonance Refrain in my cart even though I played a demo and wasn't impressed, but it's ~$12 so whatever.
What decent platformers/metroidvanias are worth looking in to? Already played Hollow Knight and Ori.
Vesperia, Berseria, FF4.
I'm not really knowledgeable about Metroidvanias, but there's some good Platformers out there. Curse of the Moon is $6, and that's a Castlevania 3-style game by Inti. Spark The Electric Jester is $5.20 and that's a game by a guy who used to make Sonic ROMhacks so it plays like a good 2D Sonic but with some combat elements and Kirby-style copy abilities.
I hear The Messenger is quite good as well; it's NES Ninja Gaiden-like with an 8-bit/16-bit switch aesthetic to represent time travel, and I know for a fact the music is incredible. I hear there's a part in the middle that feels like a Metroidvania so maybe try that, but it's relatively new so it's $14 even on sale.
Rabi Ribi
This.
anyone got any recommendations for some hack and slash anime games ala Senran Kagura?
Forgot to mention I already played through that as well.
Cool, I'll check those out.
I can agree that Rabi Ribi is worth picking up for anyone else interested.
Sonic Mania if you like classic Sonic gameplay
The Messenger is half and half, it basically opens up the map halfway through while the first half is straightforward arcade-style progression.
Bloodstained CotM is great if you like classic Castlevanias as well. I assume RotN is the same for modern Castlevanias but I haven't played it yet.
Shovel Knight is great too, the movement reminds me a lot of classic Megaman. Maybe not quite as tight, but close.
I liked Momodora: Reverie Under The Moonlight, but some people say they didn't like how it plays or controls. You should probably be able to get a feel for it and see if you want a refund or if you like the controls.
Thoughts?
Shovel Knight
Anyone? please?
fuck that trash. it's inferior to contra in every way. BORING
Have you tried Nioh?
Nioh is fine as long as you are okay with it being 70% diablo 20% broken and 10% souls.
You cant just tell "no idie" and expect recommendations
At least say what genres you dont like or if you already have the popular ones (like Kingdom come)
I know it's, great isn't it?
Can someone recommend a comfy action RPG. Preferably something with party customization and/or decent character customization. No WRPGs.
Thoughts on this game?
Smashing The Battle
It's like $3.50 and is a simple mindless action game with a great aesthetic and nice tits. It's a ported mobile game but because it's a regular priced game there's no micro or DLC as far as I know.
I was about to make a post like this. Any good games with character customization?
Dragon's Dogma. It is definitely a JRPG even though it has a western fantasy look, and it has what you want. Best combat in the genre, great music, fun characters, great endgame and post game.
Fun but short. Also not much of a Metroidvania all things considered, more like you go from area to area in a specific order and there are some secret or optional paths for items and shit. I still had fun with it.
good graphics and music but crappy game
If the diablo + broken wasn't a good 2x-5x stronger than actually playing it straight forward it would be even better than bloodborne for me.
>store.steampowered.com
>Literally a game where you're a literal necromancer who summons literally thousands of skelingtons to swarm enemies
>Literally a concept that Yea Forums has repeatedly posted in POST YOU'RE IDEAL GAME threads since forever
>Figuratively never heard anyone even mention this game on Yea Forums once
Did they not pay pajeets to shill for them here or something? Anyone tried this game to see if it's any good? It's got overwhelmingly positive reviews but I don't trust that shit.
I got:
>BO2
>Golf It!
>Saints Row: The Third
>Hand Simulator
>Dead Island
>UNO
>Outlast
>DOOM
>Fallout New Vegas
>Doodle God
>Besiege
>Immortal Redneck
>Shit ton of Dead By Daylight DLC, only missing Ash, Freddy Bundle, and Legion Bundle
Can I also recommend Skeletal Dance Party?
i watched manyatruenerd play it so i could check it out. looked pretty fun. but maybe not 16 bucks fun. i say buy it and put a timer on for an hour to test if you like it
Any genre in particular?
well i dont mind whether for mp or sp
as long as it has good replay value and its NOT indie... cant stand pixel graphics or that shit...
Epic Battle Fantasy 5 is SO FUCKING FUN GODDAMN
I pirated and played 6+ hours then bought it.
What would you want for it?
Why not just say no pixel art?
Is Redout Indie to you? That's good.
Is Banished indie to you? That's good.
Is Infinifactory indie? I'm not sure if Zachtronics is considered indie anymore.
Octopath isn't indie but has pixel art.
I'm not sure what you want man.
Lobotomy Corporation
should I play 1-4 first?
AH I totally forgot about Break Arts. It's a highly customizable mecha styled racing game. It's actually pretty decent, though not quite as good as the first in a few areas. I'll see if I can add it!
Is that Soviet Republic game a meme?
yeah ur right man sry
Ok. replayability then and preferably along the lines of strategy, action, adventure, rpg anything really.
I guess yeah not banished, or redout or anything indie-er
PS I know im vague af but i dunno...
From what I read in a thread yesterday, nah. 5 is kind of a reboot anyway but the story itself isn't very important.
endless space collection is $1
Getting one more game for around 20, Lobotomy Corporation or Pathfinder?
should i get battletech?
hallow knight
zoom zoom
Just got this and need advice, what's the win condition? What do i do after the first winter?
Thats the multiplayer version of the game, there is only a win condition in single player
The versions are sold separately
Are there any good Zelda clones?
What are some games like Rebel Galaxy? Maybe with more depth to it?
don't starve has challenge maps and a single player goal to achieve
Together is just survive as long as possible and also it's multiplayer
its just an endless survival game (1 life mode available) to play with friends
Yeah i posted the wrong thing i have single player too.
fpbp
no
cringe argie
indeed, but still...
I was wondering if i should get any of these.
NUKE or nah?
-Rage 2
-Call of cthulhu 2017
-Praey for the gods (i rly dislike early access games cuz of reasons...)
-Abandon ship (yeah its ea)
-Uboat (yes i know...)
single player win condition is to find the portal in your world and take the on multiple challenge worlds in a row until you reach the end. It's probably better to play normally and just try to survive as long as you can so you get the hang of things before you do that though
Don't Starve. It is the name title.
Maybe Space Zombies and Pirates 2.
Tunic looks like it might be ok, not looking amazing though.
Spiral Knights is free if you want to dip your toe in, the stages are very zelda inspired but it's a grindy mmo with mediocre servers.
Oceanhorn is literally not!WindWaker
It is also absolute garbage.
handsimulator.. it's pretty fun and there are tons of modes to play.
Original war
>i dont want to pirate
>i want to pirate
The duality of man?
Van helsing final cut
Darksiders 1 and 2
Lords of the fallen
Surge
Buying "dlc" in mordhau just give you less reason to play the game. Whole game loop is about playing to unlock gear for your roleplaying setup. If you buy supporter edition you will unlock it instantly.
Do you realistically plan to actually play any of these?
You gonna have bad time without mic.
Fuck JRPGs, try out banner saga.
Looks cool
Darksiders series was always called as cheap zelda copy
Fuck yeah.
Ys
Kamiko and Fairune.
At a stretch there's Ys I & II
can I start Ys with origins?
it's on vita
yes. it somewhat spoils the very first game. i just stopped playing it and it is fun
Yeah, play it on hard
You can get the badge for free by participating at least once in the event... check the pit stop after boosting to see your tokens
any1 on this?
Anyone looking for somewhat lesser known titles that come recommended;
store.steampowered.com
Single-Player RTS game where you build against an unstoppable blob-type enemy. The easiest way to play is going pure turtle, building walls behind turrets behind walls, but you can easily win with faster methods. Build bombers to clear a section of the map out and create new bases around the map, for example. Fun game, many levels, simple story that's fluff and not essential to know.
store.steampowered.com
Puzzle / Programming-type game. You don't need to know any programming beforehand, but it helps. Similar to assembly language, you need to figure out how to solve each problem with restricted resources and space. You can solve each problem by focusing on efficiency first, robustness first, compactness first, etc. Each puzzle has more than 1 way to solve it (many more really).
store.steampowered.com
Remake of a game from the 90's, awful release that was patched and supported by the devs into something decent. Another single-player RTS where you need to create a housing estate that beats the other players. Mostly a nostalgia thing, I'm not sure how newcomers will like it. I enjoy it though.
store.steampowered.com
If you liked Thief 2 then you'll probably like this. Sneak through maps and steal as much as possible. Many routes through each map, I did the tutorial stage and found new areas and items on my third run through, it felt like I was playing Deus Ex and finding yet another hidden area in Vandenburg or something. You also can't really fight 1-on-1, you're even weaker than Garrett ever was, so stealth is more forced. Fun game overall.
interesting recommendations, thanks!
So all you guys shilling Ys, what game should I get? There's like a dozen of them on Steam. Ys Origins or Ys 1 and 2?
has anyone won a free game?
origins. 1 and 2 are boomer fuel remakes
Yes.
>he doesn't like bumper cars
I feel so sad for you.
Most Ys games are pretty unconnected, you can jump in wherever.
>adol goes to new land and kicks a lot of ass there, the end
Some Corgi user got his Cyberpunk preorder paid for in the first couple days.
I really enjoyed the combat and music, would recommend.
I played some of the first ones on Kongregate a while back, they were good for free games.
Anyone know what the fuck's going on with team Hare?
Now I know what you're thinking
You look at Environmental Station Alpha and you think what I think. "Holy fuck this low resolution low bit eight bit dog shit can't possibly be any good damn why am I even buying this I better just put this in the never-gonna-play-pile"
I can't stress enough that you should play it. It's some of the best shit.
However, it comes with a pretty big caveat. The post-credits game is 100% haunted. Do not play past the credits.
That was a ledditor.
What's wrong user, don't you like puzzles?
>You look at Environmental Station Alpha and you think what I think. "Holy fuck this low resolution low bit eight bit dog shit can't possibly be any good damn why am I even buying this I better just put this in the never-gonna-play-pile"
unironically better than axiom verge
Kek, literally half the games I own are pixelated and low res. Pretty sure I'll buy seeing how Yea Forums considers it to be one of the best metroidvanias.
>store.steampowered.com
>Puzzle / Programming-type game. You don't need to know any programming beforehand, but it helps.
I have to disagree, if you don't have any kind of programming experience at all the game probably wont make any sense to you and you might even get stuck on the first level. The game really does not help you at all outside of the manual which only explains what the instructions do, concepts about how to chain together instructions can be difficult to grasp without some experience.
I didn't know I'd enjoy the game THIS much. It's so simplistic but not.
That's not to say the game isn't good it's quite good but it's also quite difficult, even for people with some level of familiarity with programming.
bump
