2048 is like the only game that's playable on a touch screen and is good.

basically puzzle games are the only things that work on touch screen.

Put well over 400 hours into it without paying a cent. Starts slow on the tutorial but the game just keeps opening up. There are multiple game layers you unlock every 100 or so hours. You start off exploring dungeons and end up building spaceships from a lost city you rebuild.

A lot of the dragon quest games are on mobile and the ports are pretty good. Free wise underlords is pretty fun and has a good interface. The only other free things I can recommend are emulators

i agree its one of the better mobile games, but i really dont like how the progression is almost made so it appear random. It looks like you get a lucky drop every time, but its forced.
They should have have made the looting better, you should be able to keep loot from maze to maze. I hate that you have to start over every time

Afterburner Climax (currently the only version of that game publicly available, worth getting at its "free w/ Ads, $2 Adless" price point) and Honkai Impact 3rd but I haven't touched Honkai in a while.

Both the games I mentioned. ABC is one of the best pure arcade games ever and Honkai is a solid Bayo clone with team mechanics if you can ignore the intense mobage bullshit and just play the main story missions (and some of the events just to try different characters).

I'd say F-Zero, as vehicle control is straightforward and there's no weapons. Tracks are pretty narrow, so controlling your speed is a must, but they also tend to be open enough to allow shortcuts, or skipping sections if checkpoints are lenient enough. I know people online tend to get nuts with that when designing tracks.

I will mention one thing that's not so good about this one: The ads are obnoxious, and while I'm used to just shutting off the internet for a while to deal with that, I know it's not always possible to do. I eventually ended up paying $2 to get rid of them, but at that point I was playing and enjoying it enough that getting rid of ads was a must.

Night of the Full Moon is great, similar to Slay the Spire, but sadly there's a lot of content locked behind IAP. DeckDeDungeon is another option, less IAP but a bit janky on presentation. And of course, Shattered Pixel Dungeon is the usual go-to for Roguelikes on mobile.

For a personal recommendation, Chimera Recollect is fantastic. No IAP/ads/transactions bullshit, quick to pick and play, lots of content, cute and engaging story and unironically one of the best endings I've experienced this year, console gaming included.

I used to play idle games and check on them during lulls in work but so many are shit or just typical freemium trash and now I have none left to play.

I used to go ham on Duel links, only spent like $20 back in the first season, but now as a "toilet game" it spends more time updating and giving me unskippable cutscenes than I spend playing the game, so I haven't really touched it since just after GX was a thing.

So long as I use the same Google account, and the game supports binding my account to my save (or any type of server save), can I switch between using BlueStacks and my phone almost seamlessly--picking up where I left off?

Back then I used to have PPSSPP and Myboy, played the hell out of them.
Then I got an Iphone some years ago so now I have:
Dragon quest V (my favorite one)
Fate/GO (a friend made me get into it, I hate gatcha cancer but I play it sometimes).
A manga app
Netflix for some anime/movies and sometimes I watch anime in the webbrowser.
So I'm feeling set, Its a good way to spend my free time when I'm out or at work.

If you like FTL you might like Out There: Ω Edition
It doesn't have any active battles like FTL, but imho the overall game feels simliar. You're a pilot trying to get to the end of a starmap, like in FTL. Across the way you can choose which systems to jump to, each system will have a special encounter (all these encounters are solved via choice, it's not a combat game). You'll have to manage resources like fuel, your ship's hull integrity and oxygen. You can probe planets or space stations to loot these and other things. Overall I enjoyed it very much. I wanted to link the free version of the game (Omega version is/was the paid one) but I can't find it anymore, did they remove it from the store?
