Now $25

>now $25
What went so fucking wrong, jesus christ.

they removed half of the game promised. Like Tomba.

Apparently snoyniggers are smarter then nintentoddlers and don't want to buy a glorified raspberry pi

>no dualshocks
>no games everyone actually wants
>botched PAL versions
>open sores emulator instead of their in-house emulation
They dropped the ball on everything

The SNES games actually worked.

The epitome of laziness and arrogance linked into a single catastrophe
>Use shit emulator
>Use PAL versions of games
>Can literally flip a switch to have the games run better (but not great)
>Have said switch turned off and can only turn back on using a keyboard
>Don't even bother including a power adapter

About four months after release I already saw these going for about $60 at Best Buy in Canada, seeing it drop to $25 isn't at all surprising
Shit like this in conjunction with the PS4Pro had me too concerned for the PS5 that I'm just going to switch to PC as soon as I can afford to do so

Weak game selection mostly, also too overpriced. At least it's hackable I guess but what's the point if you can just emulate the games in your PC? And using a better emulator, mind you (mednafen)

They've been working on my PC for several years

This thing is just an oddity. They did everything absolutely wrong. I wonder if they just pushed this onto some interns.

might buy it now for intelligent qube, jumping flash, and wild arms

kind of a deal and i get a controller

>no dualshock
>poor game selection
>NINETY NINE US DOLLARS

>modern Sony doesn't give a single fuck about their gaming legacy and half-assed the job in every single way possible but the estethics
>early 3d games are ugly to look at on modern lcd screens and clunky to play for your average normalfag tard
>it turns out that Sony.ggers don't give a shit about anything but FOTM AAA blockbuster garbage

Attached: a52c1880-c75e-4871-c849-42177753cec1.png (807x1285, 1.25M)

I'm a little tempted to get one just for the controllers.

Yeah it's kinda remarkable what a dud this was considering how Sony has been otherwise been doing pretty decently this gen.

>having to replay the same gmae for 30 years because you're a nostalgiafag that still lives at home in eternal child mode

Not having a fucking analog stick. How did Sony think this would be a success without analog sticks?

More like Nintendo was smart enough not to put the PAL games on the NTSC console and use a shitty Android emulator.

i got one for that purpose as well, ended up hacking it and got what i paid for at $25. i'd never pay a penny more though.

Yes, but they worked. And they came with 2 NEW SNES controllers.

The PSX games didnt work and came with a pair of jank ass controllers.

I'm not saying it's a good investment but one product works, one doesnt, its hardly a miracle.

They had PAL region games causing slowdown and so the internet seeing a sign of weakness jumped on it

That's why it's selling pretty well right now. Generic ones are $10 each and this one comes with some games and can be modded.

I mean, it's also the cheapest way currently to play Persona Revelations in a legal way.

>How did Sony think this would be a success without analog sticks?
Probably
>oooga booga nintendofags are buying those emulator boxes like there is no tomorrow so lets make our own version them meant for our brain dead fanboys
>should be put even any effort into it?
>nah, they're stupid enough that they'll buy it anyway

Everything about it screams "rushed out in time for the holidays"

Sony's heart wasn't in it. According to them, games have an expiration date of like 5 months. That's why nobody's talking about GodOfSoy or redditemption 2 anymore.

>PAL
Yeah because i want a game that runs at like 80% speed.

>Hating good music

There's nothing wrong with the emulator, Sony just used an old version of it that by default emulated a heavily underclocked CPU and Sony was apparently too dumb to change that setting, and instead tried to 'fix' it by using PAL games which ran slower.

>being able to appreciate 30 years old games as much as newer ones is being a nostalgiafag
>being only able to appreciate AAA homogenized, focus tested trash is totally not retarded zoomer behavior

God, imagine being european and finding out all of your games were much slower because your tvs were shit

fuck off retard, I play games across all of time because I own a pc and a ps4. Just saying that nintendogames are fucking retarded, so your point is moot.

pal cope

>bought one at launch for 100$
>never played it
>bought another one for 30$ last week to make an emulator box
>still never used them

Attached: 1484047786562.png (720x640, 240K)

God, imagine being an amerifat and realizing all your games had washed out colors and ran at a worse resolution.

Attached: 1500844759449.gif (189x407, 2.37M)

It's been well documented what went wrong. Maybe if Sony innovated rather than chase Nintendo's coattails with this pathetic cashgrab they would have more successes outside their PS4.

That being said, I remember seeing this for $30 wondering if that was floor. $25 is probably the cheapest it will get, so if you want one for the controller it would probably not be a bad idea.

>because your tvs were shit
because lazy yank and gook devs couldn't port their games properly*

Can I have some money? Don't buy anymore plastic crap, feedy the needy :)

Can you mod more games onto it like the SNES one?

>release a dedicated emulation box
>that emulates worse than a 10 year old PC
Only Sony can copy a braindead nostalgiabait idea and completely fuck it up.

Attached: IMG_1006.png (347x538, 446K)

Preach. Sony's stolen so much over the years it's ridiculous.

Attached: 1388038156040.jpg (810x1530, 269K)

That thing has to be super easy to shoplift. I can't imagine spending money on something that can fit in my pocket.

OG PS1 players were nonautists who played with friends on burned CD-Rs. They would never drop a single dollar on a glorified paperweight that plays a 20 year old version of Tekken.

NES and SNES Classic buyers are basedboys who will literally set their money on fire upon mention of the word "Zelda".

>Cool Boarders 2
My nigga. I think the first ps1 game I ever got was Cool Boarders 3. Then 2001, then 2, then 4. 2 wasn't that good in comparison but 3 and 2001 were the shit.

some of these are a stretch like oot and dark cloud

PAL TVs had higher resolutions and RGB inputs. 50 vs 60 Hz was pretty much moot considering all media ran closer to 24 fps before video games.

Honestly? PS1 has too many great games and almost none of them are on the system but i honestly dont think any combination of 20 games would satisfy everyone because PS1 just had THAT many games. Something like an N64 mini with 20 games... 20 is actually too many, you dont NEED 20 games to fill an N64 mini with whats needed and most people would be satisfied. Here, look at my lineup for a diverse PS1 mini with what i think are good enough games, i still wont please everyone enough:

>Resident Evil 2
>Tekken 3
>Metal Gear Solid
>Medievil
>Ape Escape (inb4 sticks. i know)
>Spyro the Dragon
>Crash Bandicoot
>Abe's oddysee
>Rayman
>Final Fantasy VII
>Tomb Raider
>Tomba
>Kula World
>Ridge Racer 4
>Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
>Grandia
>Silent Hill
>Wipeout 2097
>parapa the rapper
>Street Fighter Aplha 2

thats what i think would have been cool AND diverse enough to say "PlayStation" but i bet many of you would STILL say thats simply not good enough. PlayStation was a lot of things to a lot of people. Choosing games for a mini collection is a thankless task that will never be "good enough."

You forgot to include the part when they stole the entire Nintendo's home console market relevancy and third party developers

>pocket Pikachu not a rip off of Bandai's 1997 Tamagotchi

The PS3 was already backwards compatible with PS1 games.

>no gran turismo
>no einhander
>no final fantasy tictacs
>no monster rancher (fuck you it's not my fault it doesn't have a disc reader)
>no jet moto
>no THPS

It was $30 at Walmart Canada a couple weeks ago

The Daves I know are sleeping on deals

I'd be tempted to pick it up $10 if it at least had Bushido Blade

Attached: 1559499851245.gif (500x700, 1.3M)

Its snoy, I ain't gotta explain shit.

Is it even worth hacking? Because I wouldn't mind just using it just to dump all the Tomb Raider games on it and getting comfy.

Is the definition of cope

they should have just put vita TVs in the plastic shells and let people download PSOne Classics

>Nintendo invented plug in and play classic machines

Damn, bought it for $40 2 weeks ago and have barely touched it. Any good turn based or strategy games I need to add when I mod it? I had a PS2 but only 6 PS1 games.

Attached: 1558436931903.png (287x343, 107K)

Performance wise it's miles worse than an RPi4 or Odroid, so not really. The only seemingly worthwhile thing is the controllers, but even then they don't have analog sticks, so you can't even use them for a bunch of games.

of course not. But it is pretty obvious why and when the playstation classic came out.

I'm tempted to buy one because they're so cheap, but I already have an Nvidia Shield TV I never use.
I wish I could have gotten a Playstation TV when they were practically giving those things away, they shot way up in price on ebay.

well it depends on what you plan on using the playstation classic for. if you want to use it similar to the ps tv (I imagine for emulation) then your nvidia shield is fine.

the only reason I can think to get the playstation classic is for the controller (but because it doesn't have analog sticks I can only see limited use). But if you like the controller enough then sure get it.

SONY tried to copy Nintendo again and half-assed it as usual.
