I just finished SJ Redux. Do people actually think less of this version for casualizing it when it actually just makes it less of a trial and error fuckfest? Bullshit like invisible teleporter spam, invisible pitfalls next to more invisible pitfalls and doors that force you to face them to scan was pure tedium until Redux added new subapps as bandaids to actually make it bearable.

Still slowly moving through SMTI. Took a break to play FSR. No desire to finish SMTIVA even though I'm right at YWVH. Real craving to try and start DeSu again. Really want to splurge and get SJR 25th Anniversary Edition, but I just completed SJ last year and already dropped decent money picking up Shine For High Time.

Hard to say for sure since DDS occupies that sweet spot where it's more gameplay focused than Persona but more character focused than SMT. The first two (three) Persona games are probably closest to DDS. Soul Hackers is classic SMT gameplay. Both are older than DDS so expect them to show their age. Devil Survivor is tactics RPG. SMT4A is the closest in terms of actual SMT games but the character focus has been derided by actual SMT fans.
