How does it feel to have lived long enough to see all of your favorite franchises go down in flames?

To be honest I never found this to be a problem cause my vidya tastes are constantly changing. I still have franchises I've liked for my entire life like Contra but there are too many great games out there to be autistically attached to just a small handful of franchises.

It's just a reminder that not every franchise needs to go on forever. Now if only the game producers can accept this idea. Sometimes, you must let these things go, and allow new ideas to blossom.

impossible for them to pump out multiple quality games a year like they used to with how big game budgets are now. Same with swuare, they could release multiple ps1 games a year which were all good but with how much shit needs to be in a game now every game takes 5 years

Games have as much or even less content now then they did 10 years ago.

but they need more assets to appease the normies and actually sell. Thats why i said games should have stopped evolving graphically past the ps2 era, diminishing returns and such

Honestly it's brought an odd sense of calm and finality to my experience. I can say that I pretty much hate everything now and it's helped me not waste so much time and money anymore. I have a huge back log but I have more fun shit posting these days.

Haven't been up to date with the current market since I think the Gamecube/PS2 gen. I'm basically playing all the last gen games that managed to get and hold a good reception or are recommended by people who I trust.
