I thought that was ArkSys?
>tfw literally every company from Arc System to NRS to Namco to SNK to fucking Nintendo to Microsoft to Arika is dabbing on C*pcom nowadays in the fighting game department
Nigga, this is peanuts. Even shit like GG moves 100k units in Japan.
That's pretty weak for a new release in Japan
first week of other fighting games sales in japan so shitposters can go away:
>SFV 42k / SFV AE 7k
>Tekken 7 58k
>DBZ 68k
>BBTAG 15k / BBCF 20k
>GGXRD 17k / Rev 2 10k
>Soul Calibur 6 24k
>DOA 6 27k
>Unist 5k
>MVCI 8k
>SNKH 15k
>KOFXIV 20k
>Samsho 40k
Xrd actually only moved about 40k week one, so comparable to this, and that had the whole new graphical technique and such. Fighting game sales in Japan have been really bad for a while.
These aren't high and Japanese sales don't matter anyways.
It's two things:
1. International sales.
2. A large scene.
No, Nintendo did with Smash. It sold 13 million copies while this shit sold some 40k. Pathetic.
How much money does this equal? has SamSho BTFO Ebin Games or is it not even close?
I would say bamco, as they made tekken 7, SC6, and smush, all of which are excellent.
DBFZ was kinda bad and I think they don't have the resources to give their games the long-term support they deserve (see:bbtag)
Speaking of support I'm interested to see how SNK treats samsho. How often did they do balance patches for KoF 15?
not even close, but it's only the first week japanese sales
fighting games don't need millions of sales to be profitable
SNK have always been the king of fighting games and just all arcade style games in general.
>>Unist 5k
LMAO
To be fair, those other games are physical sales only. Samsho's physical sales were only 16,662.
But samsho probably had a larger digital share since it sold out physically.
Id imagine most japanese people would rather just go to an arcade
physical sales for samsho were 30k, 10k were digital
yeah too bad nobody plays them lmfao
the most played SNK character isn't even in an SNK game
*dabs in ironfist*
>Samsho 40k
LMAO should had took the the EPIC game store deal
That's nothing compared to Smash.
smash is nothing compared to red dead redemption 2
see i can compare bestselling games from different genres too
>muh Smash isn't a fighting game
Cope.
Holy shit you're actually furious
>stock responses
lmao never change smashbabs
Looks like I hit a nerve.
and snk hit melee
>How often did they do balance patches for KoF 15?
They kept supporting it for years, and honestly it wasn't that well received by KoF players so they didn't have to. Four balance patches and two sets of 3 DLC characters too IIRC.
KoF97 is and remains the most popular fighting game in the world to this day, largely because of china
The truth is that SNK is popular everywhere that isn't North America. Though it is true to say it is a lot less popular than it used to be.
Smash only gets by on brand, not the quality of game. The gameplay could (and often is) hot garbage and you fags would still play it, as was evidenced very well by smash 4 and that every attempt to take the gameplay and do anything else with it fails miserably because the community won't support anything else.
asw is embarassing if anything.
their "hardcore" games are all dead and their new shit is sellout mugen and fanservice trash.
nice obsession but samsho will never get close to any SF ever.
They went in way too hard on the dumbing down, they are honestly probably worse than Capcom for it, so I'm not particularly sad about it.
So there's maybe a small chance that the netcode will be fixed!!?
>japan
>netcode
Thats nice, but sadly Japan's console market its irrelevant
> largely because of china
This always baffled and my friends, we never understood why would anyone take the broken game that was 97, over 98.
>Only 40k
yooooooo
No, they were 16.6k, at least according to media create.
SNK went bankrupt years ago mate.
When did they do the first balance patch? Wondering when one could be reasonably expected for samsho
it's played by thirdworlders who couldn't afford new cabs lol
They got bought a few times and I think recently they are indepdent again. Might be remembering wrong. It was been almost 20 years since that
I am the same but the fact is that some random 97 tournament from like 2014 has had MASSIVELY more viewers than Evo has ever had, it's pretty crazy
Hopefully. The genre has drastically fallen in quality in the attempts of these companies to appeal to the zoomer generation by making the games "hype" with garbage comeback mechanics.
Actualy fighting games don't get speedy patches. They wait for things to properly settle
Only NRS shite and for some reason SC got frequent balance changes
Media Create tracked only the first 3 days, it charted again with 14k today
Samsho isn't getting fucked with until after Evo
Expect the first dlc character and a balance patch probably pretty shortly after that
>watch a tournament footage
>everyone uses homoerotic capcom lingos instead of what they are supposed to be
>nobody knows how to deflect in a fucking swordfighter game
>nobody knows how to deal with Tam Tam skulls and his pokes which has been solved 2 and a half decades ago in 1995 by picking any of the ninjas
>everyone just pretends it's street fighter 2
Disgusting.
>nobody knows how to deal with Tam Tam skulls and his pokes which has been solved 2 and a half decades ago in 1995 by picking any of the ninjas
Seriously, watch the Korean tournament to see a Tam Tam getting raped by Galford so hard that he lost 6 rounds of 7 and won one by time over
link?
people already relearned how to deal with tam tam, yesterday's nlbc was galford vs genjuro
pretty much, if you see nip twitter the players are complaining about galford instead of tam tam
Worked out pretty well for calibur desu, they've done pretty well.
Ok, but that's not really first week sales like the other games on that guy's list were. And his list also included digital for samsho but not for other games.
The game is dead, fast patches only appease casuals. Reactionary stuff like that doesn't work well for fighting games as it takes time for things to settle and be worked out
This is why you should give games a year before they get put into EVO. Everyone is getting into the game and figuring things out, and while its nice the game has been playable for pros for months before release, this is still an infancy period.
Tam Tam is strong against emotional and impatient players and he will probably stay strong for a couple months before people know how to abuse him. Tam Tam is better in the West than in Korea/Japan right now and you can see it from how pros from across the world are tier listing the characters (Galford is generally rated higher in Japan than the US right now, but I expect that to change)
I don't know about that, but I'm glad for them.
>SamSlo
Sorry, I'm not a fan of glacier simulators. I know there will be a lot of "muh neutch" and "muh footsies", but you can have that without being encased in molasses
40k including digital? That's pretty pathetic.
back to make combo videos with unist then.
can't wait to see your work, user
bet you hate third strike tho
Third Strike is light speed compared to SloSho
You me strong for a new fighting game release.
>SF first
>fucking DOA6 that high
>MVCI in the list
Japs really love to eat shit huh
>I know there will be a lot of "muh neutch" and "muh footsies"
Stop listening to crapcum fgg cocksuckers, they don't have any idea anyway.
Spot the coping Arc Sissy
>shitposting this fast
Dude, what are you doing with your life
these companies know that fighters are a niche genre and listen to the community
capcom 's fighting game division doesn't care abou the community. it wants the big money of the eSports.
even activision saw massive losses in the eSports department adn fired a lot of people.
well. to give a discount to the capfags. remove ArcSys from the list. their games have a really bad balance this generation which lead to their competitive scene vanishing as quickly as they were made
The competitive community has generally been pretty happy with the patches, though. Wouldn't really call the game dead either.
>delay based netcode
>saving fighting games
get this shit out of here
