while this looks fun and lewd, I think it would be the worst possible outcome if it was implemented in the same way in Animal Crossing New Horizons, because, as I keep saying, forced unisex clothing means less revealing clothes.

You misunderstand. I'm not saying it's too lewd to add in New Horizons. Rather, the opposite. That it's a safe, lazy alternative to avoid adding actual bikinis and beach outfits tailered to both sexes. Remember, every outfit needs to look appropriate on both boys and girls. Meaning we will never see a male villager's nippes, and we will never see a villager's underwear and every "bikini" will be something that covers the entire waist, nothing lewd.

Can't censor what wasn't in in the first place. With the sheer amount of new items in Pocket Camp, as much as I'd like all of it to be in, I can't see it all making the cut.

In a game set on a tropical beach, not including swimwear would be pathetic. We can be confident they will add it in some way.

It's completely doing away with gender differences based on what we've seen and heard in interviews. New Leaf still had clearly defined genders for the player characters, even if you could wear clothing primarily meant for the opposite gender. NPCs and villagers react to this, too.

At the end of the trailer for NH we can see some characters with mostly male characteristics with face styles that were once exclusive to female characters, smaller mouth and all. So if my assumption is correct they can't exactly have topless clothing if there's no gender boundary in place to prevent a supposed female character from wearing them.

Forgot to mention that it was vice versa too, as a character with female characteristics (the darker skinned one with gray eyes) had a male face style.
