by default PS has higher resolution textures than the PC version, and they didn't fix that for like half a fucking year

The port was complete shit. They took nearly a year, but they fixed the port.
The core gameplay is good. So people buying it now have a good experience.
Most of the negative reviews are from release.

I have the game on PS4 and I thought about maybe buying the game for PC, but I don't think I can deal with getting through those horrible cutscenes and story anymore. Sniffing monster feet/shit also doesn't inspire me anymore.
The Iceborne beta on PS4 wasn't great either.

Because I've been playing every game since Freedom Unite and World dissapointed me in a bunch of ways. I've seen them show off individual new armours on twitter once in a while which has me a bit worried since they're giving individual armours the spotlight like that.
World in general is just much smaller in scope than older games, and I don't know how I feel about how much easier they've been making it. This new "clutch claw" thing looks really stupid, people always used to complain about Generations Ultimate being "too anime", but it never actually bothered me because I could just pick a hunter art that didn't change much and it felt basically the same. I really can't ignore all of the changes in MHW, it feels like they've taken away so many layers of the games and replaced them with a bit of surface level spit shine.

So it was much easier to mount and flinch the monster. Also the enraged time in LR is drastically reduced compared to G-Rank, and during rage mode the clutch claw is way less effective.

I played the PS4 version entirely alone because no way in hell am I paying $70 to play online for one single year.

It's fine. Probably the easiest way to tackle hunts as the monsters have lower HP and you control everything.

Playing with people online though has been a far better experience, even with Chinese players.

I can't put into words why I got bored of it. I didn't particularly dislike it. I'd even say I enjoyed it. I just put it down once and never cared enough to pick it back up.

Unfortunately, it's made even worse by the PC playerbase. Most asian players stick to the consoles, so randoms on PS4 aren't that bad, even Behemoth and such is doable. Trying on PC, I gave up on the "team" fights rather quickly.

The whole multiplayer aspect is still quite bad on PC either way, at least here in Europe. Barely any SOS flares, mostly empty sessions, you name it.

PS4 is anywhere from 30 up to 60 seconds from Town to Map, PC is basically instant, but more realistically 2 to 3 seconds. So if you farm some low rank materials on PS4, loading into and out of the quest could take longer than finishing it.

If you play in 1080p, you have way less performance issues compared to the ones who play in 1440p or 4k.
It runs well in 1080p with my old GTX 980, but 1440p / 4k suddenly requires a fucking 2080 / 2080ti to run it decently and you'd still need to disable some options.

I did have a few issues here and there but really, nothing to call the game "unplayable".
That said, that doesn't make it all disappear, it's true that just looking at certain direction in the forest suddenly make my fans rev the fuck up
As for the PC controls, as I said it's fine really, the only thing that's a little janky is jungling between ammo and items, but nothing a simple custom keybind can't fix especially since the game allow you to have different control set up for both melee and ranged.

Of course I'm not running it maxed, in fact I run it in all low settings with my GTX 980 in 3440x1440 now. It looks like absolute shit but at least I have stable 60+ fps and smooth frames for me > graphics.
Still thinking to get 2080Ti though.

The game had issues at louche that got fixed in like less than a month.
Some of them where same as console issues.
Most people just tend to not change there revue after the game gets fixed.
So most of the new revues are reviving the fixed game and covering over the negative revives.

Also some people finally played the PS4 versions and realize any frame-rate issues the PC version has are nothing compared to the Console version.
