We had an official server with two american factions and we fought the koreans and their 16 man nonsense team.
The server glitched out on reset for 3 resets in a row and we all had fuck huge bases from like 3 months of not being reset.

When you log off, your base is still vulnerable for let's say an hour. After an hour, it becomes invulnerable. After being offline for X amount of hours/days, it becomes up for grabs again because you've clearly abandoned it. Something like that anyway - because you're right when you say that the NEET raiders really do make things unfun.

playing solo is pretty much an anxiety simulator and unless you're on a solo/duo/trio server your probably gunna get rolled over and over
official/rustafied servers have cheaters pretty often (especially with the sale) and no limits means big zergs
playing with friends is 100x better espcially if youre new
the game can be really pretty if you have a top end system
lower end systems will stuggle to get decent frames even with everything potato settings
the game can be really frustrating at times but can also be very rewarding
im not good at reviewing things
also if you have any interest in the game theres not really any reason not to try it with how cheap it is in the sale

I actually bought it while it was still in early access and the was only the desert and then I returned to it after few years and now map is like twice or thrice bigger and more shit was added. I kind of want magic system, especially when I play as big tiddy stygian woman but so far it's limited to shrine gods stuff. I think they might add magic stuff in the future. I mostly only play on SP though.

Online raids are worse. Players will spend all their scrap, upgrade everything incrementally to waste as many resources as possible, and despawn anything else. Why wouldn't you offline raid?

You definitely need friends if you want to play online. At least on an official server. I played official for about a month with a couple friends and we managed to live in a big fuckoff tower and control the entire area around us without getting fucked by larger clans. It was a ton of fun but we decided to take a break because the server had suffered a huge duping glitcher infestation just before we joined and the landscape was utterly fucked by giant structures made of duped foundations.

It's all I had, it was a fresh character. Notice the stone tools. Was able to find some rocks to hide under that gave enough shelter to survive the storm. Man I love the sandstorm.

To get the loot obviously. If you're more into pvp and don't give a fuck about spending hours grinding resources to tackle an online, go for it. Offline raiding is perfectly fine.

The thing I don't like about Rust is that you raid for loot just to make more raid tools. You're doing it all for it's own sake. I wish the actual survival aspect was harder so raiding enemies for supplies was actually beneficial.

Finding a good server is the hardest part of any online game. It's hard to find something that's actually thoughtfully tuned to be a good experience. It's almost all just full vanilla, or crazy 10x gather shitfests where everyone has so many resources that everything is meaningless.

I found that that 2-3x rate is fairly good for SP, but thrall breaking speed I increased way more, but that's just for sp.

You're putting too much faith in a base, user, and not in your skills. You should be trying to pvp until you can get a gun if there's people on to contest you, then put down a base.
Also it's very easy to find stone in this game, even on crowded servers, but if you simply can't find any nodes, farm barrels and crates and grind that shit up for scrap, then trade it for wood and stone at the outpost.

You try hitting a stinkbug IRL with your fists and see how often you hit.

It's ok but the current game is just a huge fucking chore/pain for several reasons:

>raiding is extremely overpowered, 4 floor pieces can be destroyed by rocket splash damage for a similar amount of sulfur it would take for c4 to destroy one floor panel
>all gear worth a damn is hidden in extremely hostile areas, unless you have level 3 gear and a crew you will die almost every time you go for good gear
>removal of quarries and readdition of blueprints means you have to spend 99% of your time grinding for resources and fighting people for said resources
>tryhard neets with 2000+ hours team up and dominate the entire server without contest
>get offline raided and lose everything without a fight
>impossible to play solo
>upkeep means constantly feeding huge quantities of resources into your base 24/7 or else it will literally disapear
>scientists gaurding highloot areas air aimbot tier and respawn quickly

Not worth playing unless you can team up with several autistic neets who can stay online for 10+ hours a day and night, highly advise against buying it

They're kind of a double edged sword, full of a bunch of large groups that can steamroll you, but also a LOT of loot for a solo to score. Low pop servers often have me playing primitive mode a lot longer, wheras on a high pop server I can log in, find dead bodies from pvp and loot an AK in the first 5 minutes.
It's all about trade-offs though, if you're soloing on high pop you need to either have multiple bases, or take advantage of the new radio beacons by sticking them in small caches, and keeping a text file listing the coordinates and frequencies of them.
Last good game I had on a high pop server, I made a base with 3 external TC's linked to the foundation of my main base, so no one bothered to grief it, and I had like a dozen small caches buried in the same grid as my base with kits and metal frags to rebuild myself.

The problem is the meta is garbage, and unless you're on a week long meth binge you're not ever going to see "top level play"

First off you're gonna want to stop being an orphan asap so you can have functional combat stats, and if you're there for degeneracy it helps people look less bad for associating with you in private if you're a regular N tag. Their wiki probably still has some cookie cutter builds up somewhere so you can just throw the stats in and be on your way.

All of these are correct, but the devs fucking hate players who can't pvp intenseively and grind non-stop. They need to severely reduce the amount of scrap you need for BPs and make it easier to score loot because it's fucking insane right now. I miss when you could chill at you base most of the time and let quarries do the work for you.

Honestly pvp is so rare you might as well leave it on since the only time it could reasonably bite you in the ass is if you get really into the grind and actually get the good hard to replace gear, but by then you should be good enough at the game to defend it and playing with a corp that will likely help you get it back or replace it.

What's the difference between Rust and Ark? Give me an unbiased list of objective differences before you give me your biased opinion on which one's better. I'm in the market for one of these two.

Ark is Rust with Dinosaurs. Rust has a lot more polish but is mainly about pvp. Ark is more about the farmer grind and dino taming even on pvp servers.

Rust was good before they decided to throw everything in the trash and start over.

this. it has mostly to do with the game using a fuckton of ram and it has only gotten worse since. game actually made me upgrade my ram a few years back from 4gb to 8, since no game ive played up until this point needed this much. game went more or less stable, still sub 60 fps but i didnt expect much with a 750 ti. now i've got a rx 580, rest unchanged, and it has only gotten worse. people actually recommend 16 gigs of ram now, because the devs are too incompetent to optimize their shit fucking game. seriously, whereas i could play on heavily populated maps without many issues aside from the occasional frame drop 2-3 years ago, my game almost crashes upon joining a server now and slows down to like 10 fps. not to mention that joining a server takes me up to 10 minutes on an ssd. shit is ridiculous.

honestly the things people come up with in rust is what makes it so damn fun. i've got about 400 hours in it and half of it is just reading the server chat or fucking around in voice comms.

used to be able to play this game perfectly 60 fps
constant unoptimized shit kept getting added and now the game barely even launches for me anymore, all while the min reqs on the store page keep getting bumped up over time
it all started with the needless update to the rain particles that tanked my fps whenever it was raining, but now even just standing still in an empty area with nothing happening and i literally get 2-5 fps, on top of multiple seconds of screen freezing

The only way you can kidnap someone is if you were to trick them into entering a room with a lock on the inside so they can't escape, if they aren't retarded they can just rush the door the second it opens. Assuming you trick them into a room behind two locked doors to prevent this they can still kill themselves if they get a hold of a weapon of any type and also if they find enough drugs to OD or just spam a chat until they get hit by lightning. Presumably they could also pray to get punted into space and an admin would probably oblige if they heard it. It's safe to say if someone goes along with all this you could probably just cut out the middle man and ask if they want a sugar daddy. Maybe teach to git guid so you can have a gay manservant to go on adventure with.
