Mid range or better mobos have DACs built in and have for years now. You'll probably be spending several hundred for imperceptible improvements
But maybe your mobo is shit or its dac is shit. Then my advice is TRY BEFORE YOU FUCKING BUY DONT BE AN AUDIOFOOL

Only good "starter sets" I have experience with is the FiiO E10K DAC/AMP and the Sennheiser HD58X on drop/massdrop. I'm sure slightly better and cheaper alternatives exist now but that should be enough for a proper budget audiophile experience.

Diminishing returns are a big thing in headphone world, the leap from market crap to proper hifi headphones is massive, but beyond a certain point it all becomes more about incremental upgrades, not revolutions. Those electrostat headphones in the video are probably the best headphones in the world, yes, but it’s not like they’re that different from something that costs 1/15th as much.

Hell, they don’t really even exist as a product that is supposed to be bought, it’s more of a prestige product that exists for the sake of ”look, we can do this” for Sennheiser.
