Jayden Long
Henry Thompson
But Heartgold/Soulsilver improved upon them in almost every aspect. The perfect Pokemon games were released 10 years ago.
Anthony Ward
this
I'm a huge nostalgiafag for gsc but you're outright biased and retarded if you think hgss are anything but massive improvements
Evan Edwards
Still a remake of those two games.
Thomas Cooper
I miss it...
Leo Lee
still my most favorite gen
Kevin Fisher
Besides what said, Crystal improved over those two anyway.
Jonathan Harris
how can awful gen 1 dlc be perfect
Luis Bennett
Yes, and? You were asking about "the perfect Pokemon games", not about the "primordeal good Pokemon games".
If I want to play a good Pokemon game today, I sure as hell don't play Gold/Silver.
Brandon Rogers
What if I just like how it looks and sounds better and like that the gender you don't choose isn't forced into the story (something that I absolutely hate in these games)?
Chase Ward
I wasn't asking about anything retard, that was my first post.
The remakes are just improvement of the original two, but they use their mechanics, mons, etc.
You're simply retaded by making that post, you're referring to the same games, all the credit SSHG has is due to how good the original games were.
Ryder Brooks
That's not BW2
Sebastian Morales
That's some pretty superficial shit, m8. Sure, feel free to have that opinion, but be assured that most people would disagree with you.
But the mechanics HG/SS use are gen 4 mechanics. There's a lot of stuff HG/SS does that G/S didn't do. If HG/SS were just facelifts, sure, but they are much, much more than that. The improvements in HUD alone are just astronomical.
>all the credit SSHG has is due to how good the original games were.
That's straight up wrong. The original games are the fundament ofr HG/SS, but the remakes actually built upon the originals. The remakes are a perfect blend of the old and the new, taking the good from both worlds.
Camden Scott
The mechanics and flaws in battles will always be more enjoyable. the improvements from DPPt are more enjoyable just for trying to be competitive, which pokemon still is pretty bad at to this day.
Juan Young
In what way besides graphics? Never played the remakes because I hate the idea of 300+ pokemans but I was always intrigued to becasue Silver&Gold were my favorite games as a child
Luis Campbell
BW2, Emerald, Platinum, HGSS, BW, FRLG and even Crystal are all better games.
Brandon Harris
>Horrible level curve
>Horrible Pokémon distribution
>Shitty gen2 movepools relying too much on normal type moves.
Let's be honest it fucking sucked.
Liam Sullivan
>Crystal improved over those two anyway.
how?
Evan Phillips
Jacob Barnes
They are some of the best sequels ever created.
Killed the weak points of the previous games,
developed the strenghts further and introduced new mechanics.
And it still worked on the old fucking Game Boy. Amazing.
Michael Wood
I fucking love the color palette. Pokémon was ruined with the GBA.
Josiah Brown
Bugfixes and a lot of gameplay elements refined to better benefit the player (Trainer Cell calls can now give you items, Happiness can be increased higher by training in the route you caught/hatched a Pokemon, refined movesets for some Pokemon)
And of course, expanded story for Suicune, and being able to get Ho-oh and Lugia without trading.
Mason Allen
>being able to get Ho-oh and Lugia without trading.
Just like in Gold and Silver?
Jayden Young
The Pokemon for the most part have usable movesets now, and due to the physical/special split you can actually use most of them now (look at Sneasel from gen 2: super high attack stat, but both his stab moves (ice/dark) were special attacks - HG fixed this shit by having the gen 4 mechanics of physical/special attacks being determined by the attack, not by the typing of the attack)
Menu management is also great, HG/SS is probably one of the first games to benefit immensely from having a touchscreen. HG/SS does a fantastic job to have everything you want to do just one click on the bottom screen away, you don't have to dig through menus anymore. It jsut fantastic. You can actually play the game one-handed, because even the run button has a toggle on the bottom screen.
The game just has a ton of QOL improvements like that.
And if you are worried about 300+ Pokemon, HG/SS only has the first 251 until postgame.
Jonathan Myers
>get Ho-oh and Lugia without trading
You could already do that in the originals, they weren't version exclusive.
David Torres
>Happiness can be increased higher by training in the route you caught/hatched a Pokemon
Thats the only thing that sounds neat.
Adrian Cook
HG/SS were amazing games, but personally I prefer the graphics and soundfont of the original titles. I really dislike the gen 4 pseudo 3D look and music. The originals are just perfection.
