You guys are upgrading to new ryzens? Im looking to get x570 budget board and 3600x. Then sell old 350 board and 2600x.
New gen ryzen videogamez
never listen to this board when it comes to hardware
I'm sitting on a 1600 with a 350 board
Runs everything I play just fine, so I'll wait till Zen 3.
If Zen 3 isn't compatible with my mobo then I'll buy a 3700x because they'll be heavily discounted by then.
why the fuck would you run zen 3 on a two generation old motherboard?
Because It can, without having to drop another ~$200 on a new motherboard with no performance gain.
Why would you want to buy a new one unless you absolutely had to?
consumerist drone kill yourself
Zen 2 leap is plenty good
>x570
>budget board
unless you have a specific need for pcie 4.0 theres no point to x570.
Might go from a 2700x to 3900x but not on day one, i 'll wait for a price drop.
Yeah but after how fast the first zen CPUs dropped in price, I'm not buying on launch again. The only thing my 1600 struggles with at the moment is PS3 emulation, which is mostly due to RPCS3 being in an early state.
last time i upgraded was 2014, what the fuck happened to motherboards? they have fans on them now???
Yes
Only the poorly designed ones with bad heatsinks
>tfw going to put 3600x in my b350 mobo
fight me
Who /integrated graphics/ here?
I just hope that the 4000 series works on the 400 boards.
you won't be able to overclock with your budget boards, only the best for the best cpu in the world. amd.
same, might even get the 3700x
>source: my dilated asshole
>with no performance gain
Does it support 3xxx though? Check bios updates
Post a benchmark that proves otherwise
wait till next year to buy a new amd cpu or gpu
Some of the old boards won't be able to supply the needed power to the new chips. Would wait and see if it's actually compatible, before you upgrade.
Of course, I was the user who said I won't be buying at launch anyway.
Ill probably wait until the new ryzens have released to see if Intel chips are still better. If Intel drops the prices they are probably still compatible. Pcie4 seems pretty cool through, not gonna lie
Fans should only work when you have actively used pcie 4 nvme raid. Which no intel motherboard has, that's the only reason you don't have it on them and not muh amd sucks at designing chipsets.
Ah. That makes sense. If it's completely compatible, I'd say you would probably get a pretty good deal. I don't know how good compatibility is going to be though. I've heard that it's apparently pretty hard for some gen1 board to even fully utilize Gen2 chips, but I'm not shure how true that is.
yeah I'm going to need to update the BIOS
