Should i upgrade or wait?

I have a Radeon R9 380 OC, 2GB i bought 4 years ago.

I could upgrade to a geforce 1660 ti
But im not sure its the right time. Is anything else on the way? Or should i go for it

jesus christ xD
first of, amd cards release on this fuckin sunday
second of, invidia just announced new version of 20xx lineup (super)
third of, 20xx is like 8 months old or older.

either wait for new amd cards benchmarks, just grab 20xx super, or skip the current generation of invidia and wait for the next later this year

Didnt know about the release, im not that common in hardware. I want to upgrade anyway because thst poor r9 is slowly past its usefulness.

So you say i would be better off waiting for the amds that come out? What about the price? 1660 ti is only 250$

The 1660Ti or a used 1080Ti.
No interesting new cards, maybe next year.

The 5700 and 5700XT are DOA(Blower GPUs with worse performance than the NVIDIA counterparts for the same price because AMD wanted to go full jew too but failed).
Super refresh is still overpriced.

At least wait for xr 5700 benchmarks (should be on sunday or monday rly) (its supposed to be an answer for 2060)
compare them to 2060 super benchmarks, compare the price (380 dollars, im sure you can save up a bit more if you wait a month)

well I wouldnt be so judgemental, wait for benchmarks

The GPUs they were supposed to be just as good at got replaced.
2060 and 2070 got replaced by better Super versions making them useless.
And i will say this again, THEY ARE BLOWER CARDS FOR $400 AND $500.

Wait one week and get a RTX 2070 'Super' which outperforms a 1080ti for half the price

make the rtx meme stop i just want a shitty 100 dollar low power 60fps 1080p itx capable gpu

I wouod want a 1660 ti
And i dont own a 4k monitor, AFAIK 2000 series are for 4k, hence would be useless for my case,no?

So bottom line, 1660 is fine, and not a completely bad idea

you just took one message that doesnt shit on 1660 from all the others and made your decision with it, while everyone tells you to wait til sunday for embargo on new amd cards to drop

2080 is for 4K, 2070 for 1440p and 2060 1080p (499, 399 and 299)
At least with a 2000 series you'll be good for the next few years

You are right. But 20s series just seems like an overkill for me. I dont need a super high end pc, just a pretty ok one

There is no point in recommending a 2000 series card if he doesn't have a CPU and monitor to make proper use of it

Kind of this.

Also, the difference doesnt seem that huge here. Pic related

Which of these would be better picks for 1440p at 144hz?
>3800x or 9700k
>2080, 2070 super, or whatever AMD's equivalent is

AMD and Nvidia have new retarded cards coming out because they're faggots.
There needs to be more competition.

this site is really bad you shouldn't use it for benchmarks or any comparisons.

Wait for benchmarks, I think we'll get them on 7/7
Don't trust Intel

>2GB i bought 4 years ago

$500 is not half of $700. Dumb shill.

Also this is my cpu btw

AMD Vishera FX-8320E

Any other recommendations?

2060 super if you have the money and are still using 1080p

1080 60 hz, old shit monitor. Thats why i aim for 1660 ti instead maybe. Idk man....

it's not even a week mate
I usually give WaitMD people shit, but OP is best off waiting half a week

Get an RX 580 if your budget is tight
Alternativelly,

that is severe overkill for 1080p

yeah you can also go that card if your on a budget, you should really upgrade your monitor to at least 120hz though.

Rx 580 has no ray tracing technology, not that i would make use of it

It is for now but at least you wont have to worry about upgrading for at least 4 years.

This month its the card and an ssd, next month a 144 hz 1080 and i think im set

1660 and overclock to 1660ti levels BTW

Neither has the 1660 ti?
I personly own a RTX 2060, but if you eother don't have the budget for or don't need this class of performance or

You need a 2080 at least to even come close to 60fps/1080p with ray tracing enabled.

You could tweak up your GPU to reach RX570-levels, I'd be more worried about that shitty CPU. I assume you're running an old platform with old standards, maybe it's not unwise to wait for Blagg Friday or a big discount day and do an overall renewal with Ryzen

The new RTX "Super" cards are coming out soon so maybe look into those since they are at the same pricepoint as the older models.

If blower GPU is bad, what's good then?

Two or triple fanndesogna with finstack heatsinks.
Run the fuck away from blowers and extruded aluminum heatsinks user.

>pussy covering the pussy

Im in a similar situation
upgrading from a 960 2GB
1660ti, vega 56 or rtx 2060

This is new to me so pardon my ignorance, but how do I find out if it's blower or not. I thought blower just meant the fan, and all GPUs obviously have those. Is GPU having a blower dependent on the manufacturer of the model? Can 2070 have a blower and non-blower model?

Nvidia makes the card, then they sell them to aftermarket businesses like Sapphire or whatever that modify them, such as adding different cooling solutions or overclocking them

After this thread and a few searches i settled for 1660 ti for 1080 p gaming.
If i had a bit more money and a better monitor 2060 is the way to go

1660 is more than enough for 1080p@60Hz

Should I upgrade my GPU or save up to get a creepy Miku of my own? Decisions, decisions.

stay away from msi, gigabyte and zotac brands

I've been using my gigabyte board and GPU for 5 years without issue

Intel is a corpse.
Wait for Navi launch, but probably get used 1080ti

>R380
>4yo
Do you have brain damage or are you just naturally a retard?

Is my 970 still fine?

Attached: 1561647158938.png (540x532, 517K)

i had wanted to get a monitor aswell but its out of my budget for now but im gonna get it next so i would rather futureproof myself for the extra what 50 dollars maybe

Yes for 1080p 60fps

There's no future-proofing with today's gpu market. The price/performance hasn't gone anywhere in 3 years

i meant future proofing as in im going to get a new monitor either way so i want one to support something like 1440 144hz

5700

brainlet here, i bought a 1070 8gb for 300 usd around christmas last year did i get jewed

>dude just wait

Ok I guess it's fine for that but just don't expect to hit 144fps with it, I'd expect 60-100

Or you can get the vega 56 for about the same price

My 7 years old HD7950 (R9 280) is still rocking hard at 1080p and I genuinely don't feel the need of upgrading it yet.

get one but only if you can fuck it.

Yes.

why is this card so damn hot?
i want this 1060ti just because this card looks so porno

why should you when you play nothing even remotely modern

>not the 7970
cuck

It's not amazing but it's better than the more expensive 2060 which still costs 350

yeah im probably gonna grab a 1440p 75 hz imo but who knows prices will probably drop no point in looking now

Nah get a 144hz anyway, prices are always dropping and it will have better features

I do. I still can't believe how much better Kiwami 2 plays than the PS4 version, despite not being solid 60 fps.

you're not going to find a new 1080Ti for 700 tho, you had to risk buying a bad product and get one at launch for 700, and i mean day 1 because only weeks later the mining craze began. for 95% of its lifespan the 1080Ti was a 1000 dollar GPU.

well like i said i was checking for prices now but looking back on it theres no point since i wont be purchasing one now

please dont trust the opinions on hardware of people on this board
