Isn't Pathologic 2 just a sequel? Why is it in that category?

Pathologic 2 is a remake.

It's a remake missing most of the content of the original. Why the decided to call that Pathologic 2 is anyone's guess.

What is there is really great and a solid 40 hours though. Looking forward to the other parts. The reasoning behind the name is long and confusing.

It is because the original already got a regular remake with understandable translation and made in hd. They then decided to do a large scale style remake kind of like the Resident Evil 2 to REmake2 jump. And then there being two remade versions went with calling this one 2 and the other classic hd.

If TSA doesnt count as indie then no indies for me. Overall, a somewhat underwhelming first half, but 2019 is about to hit its stride.

Can you explain. I thought Suda51 and grasshoper were a regular developer company. But then I don't know much about TSA.

3) Mordhau
4) Resident Evil 2
5)Tetris 99

Currently playing Mario Maker 2 and starting Katana Zero soon.

It's been a great year for games so far.

Typically speaking, sequels to major franchises that are produced and funded by publicly traded publishing conglomerates are not indie.

I don't understand why people have trouble with the definition of indie. It doesn't mean small. It doesn't mean "soul". It just means produced INDEPENDENT of a third party producer. Especially a corporate third party producer.

Define regular developer company. They only have 20 people and to my knowledge, arent exactly wealthy either. Most of the games they make are fairly low budget, and most of the time rely on the money from their publishers. (All devs do this, but it's pretty obvious that Grasshopper is super dependent on their publishers money)

I thought they were bigger than that.

They were. They didn't make games like Shadows of the Damned and Fatal Frame 4 with 20 employees. They used to employee nearly 200. They've fallen on hard times after a string of bombs.

Well damn. Hope TSA does well on PC and NMH3 too.

It's a remake but original is also canon. The intro of Pathologic 2 is the remake of the worst outcome of day 12 in Classic.

Katana Zero is good but way too short.
