I only just recently started getting into this game so forgive the dumb question, but is this specific spot still in the game? I recognise some landmarks in the background but it seems off.

The game looks better than this other than lower foliage. They were likely somewhat dishonest with themselves when estimating how much they would be able to run in the final game; but, it is hardly a Watch Dogs tier lie/downgrade.
BotW is a highly flawed game. If you are unwilling to take innovation and ambition into account a 7/10 or even a 6 is a fair review; however, it is the game of the decade by a wide margin though good arguments could be made for Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro, Tropical Freeze, Monster Hunter World, Mount and Blade: Warband, and Sins of a Solar Empire.

It has graphics miles ahead of the PS2, its full of easily a hundred hours worth of content if you don't use a guide, and frame drops never go below 25 fps. Yes, combat is kinda shit. They shoulda gone for the TP style of combat. Things break too fast, i can agree. Hopefully BoTW 2 fixes those issues.

For me BotW is probably only like an 87/100. But anything over 75 is still basically considered a good game, at least one that you should try to see if you fall to the left or right of the meta score's bell curve.
In the case of BotW I fell to the left. I enjoyed it but yeah, it wasn't a 97 to me. But these crazy motherfuckers that still make these threads to this day, they're a whole other breed. Original unique two screens integration was cut off.

It is oversaturated and the contrast has been blown the fuck out. One of the defining characteristics of BotW look is that is very pastel, very low contrast, which gives it a washed out look. We could argue if that was intentional to hide away the general lack of texture and poligon detail or just a result of the limitations o the switch, but in any case, that's how it is.
This is, of course, not mentioning how fucking cherry picked the picture is, maximizing contrast and effect by picking up a picture against the setting sun.

Any time you were going any real elevation down gliding was always better which is why it broke the game.

I mean I had fun with it. It's on par with Nier for that year. I just don't see the hype surrounding it given how much of a hollow experience it is once you understand what you're playing.

Hunting lions was the most fun part of the game for me, but once I upgraded the berserker armor to T2 the game was a goddamn cakewalk. It was a lot more fun when I accidentally stumbled into the final boss room with 3 hearts.

I don't want to sound like an ass, but I legitimately didn't notice. On master mode, all the enemies are already rainbow colored and one-shot you so they all kinda blended together for me. I just went to Hyrule castle every blood moon to grab some royal gear in order to progress. Since it's the top tier I stopped caring about chests and what enemies dropped
