In FO3 it's Intelligence full stop. The amount of skill points you get per level was ridiculous. The rest is irrelevant because you couldn't really make "builds" in 3 due to the weapons and perks being ass.

In FNV, it's a totally different story. Every stat is useful except CHA. I always dump it and boost END and LUK to at least 8+, then fine tune the rest for whatever weapons and perks I want to use for that playthrough.

idea:
what if having higher charisma increased the amount of reputation you gained for helping factions and decreased the amount you lost for attacking them

you need only
8str
5p
8end
1chr
4-5 int
5agi
7luck

anything else is wrong and you can easily max str end and luck with items and bonuses

No. 10 luck and agility, 4 in the rest.

10 S
10 P
10 E
10 C
10 I
10 A
10 L

Better idea: You need certain Charisma to unlock certain speech options because nobody should be being won over by someone who looks, acts and sounds like a rat

pretty good if you're not going for a crit build

i used some similar stats for a heavy handed melee + explosvies build, worked well

Can you start this game with 1 in all stats? And does the game acknowledge that?

this is basically me going for the easiest mode, with guns. i was having a hard time untill i fixed my stats

You don't need INT in FO3 for skill points because between skill books and how many skill points you get with even average INT it's more than enough.
INT is much more helpful in NV. I'd argue to two most important stats in NV, by far, are INT and END. INT gives you skill points, which are harder to come by in NV, and END gives you implants. Luck isn't important.

You're forced to spend every point unless you use console commands. Doc Mitchell will comment on any 1s or 10s you have though.

Played New Vegas exclusively with high INT and LCK and I broke the game so hard that it got real boring after getting the chip

high luck and end
sneak to vegas from goodsprings with stealth boy
savescum your way to riches and buy all implants
THEN go back to goodsprings and start the game

I tried this it works it just takes some time but this is the optimal start.

That's dumb. Go all the way or just don't go. Use the console if minmaxing matters that much to you

>dude don't use tricks
>just flat out cheat!
may as well turn on godmode and immediately teleport to every quest objective too, huh faggot

Why would I want to make this unbearably easy game even easier?

because its something different to do after beating it 100 different ways without exploits

You're only kidding yourself if you think wasting an hour running to Vegas and savescumming casinos before returning to Goodsprings with the "correct" stats is somehow more legitimate than just using the console

it is 100% more legitimate

100% of 0 is 0

>operating within the parameters of the game
>literally enabling cheats with the console
if you think these are the same you're flat out retarded

First thing, min maxing is fucking gay and so are you.
Second, 10 in anything is a waste because of implants, you only need 7 for the SPECIAL ones, the others aren't really that great.
Third, Agility is dump stat unless you're a loser who uses VATS, put those points in Luck.

>save scumming is working within parameters of the game

Agility and Luck are great in FO3, or you could get the perk that gets all stats to 9 and then collect bobbleheads
Endurance and Luck are mandatory in FNV so every build ends up being the same.

>saving and loading your game isn't within the parameters of the game
so you literally are flat out retarded

Agility affects reload/unholster speed. Unlike Charisma, less Agility makes you objectively worse in combat

Anything but 10 Luck is incorrect

A convenience at most, and matters little if going melee/unarmed

high crit frequency is preferable to slightly faster reloads.

I don't see the point in min/maxing in these games when the combat is simple and all the fun comes from interacting with the world and making your mark. Being an overpowered jack-of-all-trades-master-of-all just seems boring to me. Not hating just curious why people find it fun.

S 4 + 1 + Reinforced Spine + Lonesome Road point
P 5 + 1 + Hat
E 7
C 1
I 7 + 1
A 8 + 1 + Small Frame
L 8 + 1 + Lucky Shades

Also grab the Subdermal Armor and the Monocyte Breeder implants

Use Cowboy weapons

>Endurance and Luck are mandatory in FNV
Not even slightly, no matter how you want to spin it

For a melee tank build, probably close to best.

Here's my build from my last playthrough.

>he needs a stealthboy
>not going to the strip at level 1

What a coincidence. Great minds think alike. Or we're both just good at reading the fucking wiki.
